Update

I’ve been busy this month—just not very visible. I apologize for that. Once we had UA launched I had to immediately turn my attention to a WFH project that wrecked my production schedule. What was supposed to be a simple edit of a large book—taking that book from it’s original 140K (it was actually 135K but that editor likesto kid) to 120K—became a complete rewrite.

Ha…!

I had it all figured out and I’d actually started the edit twenty chapters in before I hit the first snag. That snag was based...

The Uncollected Anthology Has Launched!

Earlier I mentioned I’d been busy working on a project with a group of other authors. Well, it’s finally launched.

Back in February, when all six of us were in Lincoln City, Oregon for the anthology workshop, Dayle Dermatis came up with the idea of an anthology of urban fantasy that wasn’t collected. Instead of having several stories on the same subject bound together in a single volume, why not carry through with concept, but not put them together?

TSAF arWe had a meeting and The Uncollected Antholog...

I’m Back!

Well that hiatus was a bit longer than I planned. I didn’t go anywhere—I just worked. And read. And did house work. And read a lot more. And got a project ready for release with other author friends. I’ll blog about that on Thursday. So I’m still catching up on emails and contacts. If I haven’t gotten back to you, be patient. I’m getting there.

UPDATE:

Obsidian-SilverwebJune saw the release of the next Tales of the Abysmal Plane, OBSIDIAN SILVER. This novella focuses on Scylla, who while now in the body of Remi,...

Creative Focus

Focus.

Hotes

Now this is one focused cat, watching me install a thermostat. This is Hotes, everyone.

I sometimes lack this.Okay, no laughing. I have ADD. Seriously. And the hardest thing about being a writer in this New World of Publishing is picking the right project to work on and focus on that amidst all the other responsibilities of being a mom. Because no matter how many times I schedule writing, make plans to spend time with Zoë or whomever’s on the docket for the day, something onthe mom side...

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

mothersday2k142

Argh! Pulling my hair out seems like a good idea…only at my age I’m afraid it won’t grow back!

Between losing the website for a week, due to the theme breaking and then rebuilding it, the hosting service having issues, end of school stuff, yard work, house work, the thermostat going out just as the weather gets warmer…

Writing? Ha!

Well that’s not entirely a lie. I was able to write 10,000 for the week. I should be thankful for that, but I had such a great streak going!

Mmmm… breathe in. Slow. Ho...

Zoë’s Next Adventure: Book 7!

It’s All In The Family.

SERAPHIM is here! As of this posting it’s only available in ebook, but the print should be available soon. This is the first of three Zoë books I promised for this year when I realized I was going to miss publication in 2013. I’m happy with this one, and [...]

Got a New Poll over on the right…

for a new Vampire Series. If you’ve followed the blog and the website, you’ve seen a book cover for the upcoming STRANGE BEHAVIOR. What I’m looking for is a series title.

A series title is that tag line you see on a cover or a spine that lets you know the book is part of [...]

Finding Our Path

I was going to write up a post about finding a path, on understanding why we write. Why I write. Because it’s not for the accolades or the best sellers, but for my personal passion.

But then I read JC Andrijeski’s blog and this post pretty much said it best for me. If you’ve never [...]

Free Fiction for St. Patrick’s Day!

A few years ago, I wrote a short story called GAZE OF INTENT. I published it under a pen name and it was pretty well received. But due to life, I never carved out the time to sit and outline the sequel, the full novel, to Padraig Donaghue’s story. I’m happy to announce that time [...]

Writer Mom and the House Utilities

The Oregon Sunset

I had been planning a really cool post for today. Had it sort of outlined yesterday morning in one of my plethora of notebooks. I’d been putting off writing it out till last night, cause I have this new schedule I need to adhere to. And I’ve been doing great at [...]
