Shout Out!

I put in a note at the end of Solstice Whispers to send me any typos or mistakes that were made in the book, and I must say, the emails have been fantastic! The one that sticks out most is one from Elizabeth Youngs. I am amazed at her level of detail, much better than the editor I used.

I just wanted to let everyone know I greatly appreciate your comments to me and your help. I won’t be using the pre-order again for a while because I realized I need more time on a book, including that last pas...

A New Book: More Stress

I have a heart condition. It’s actually a pretty common one. It deals with the fact one half of my heart doesn’t work. Blood from an atrium doesn’t pump into its ventricle of choice, so the other half of the heart works twice as hard. I’ve had this for a while, according to my Cardiologist.

And I’m a worrier, and that’s not helping. Because so many readers enjoyed book one of the Ravenwood Hills series, I have been literally stressing on book two. And cringing as I read back through it and see...

Update: Nanowrimo: 34,901 / 80,000

I haven’t quit and I’m still working. Spent four days doing nothing but editing and putting together a story bible for the new series and the editor. In these past FIVE days I’ve discovered my addiction to gaming could get out of control again, so I made a decision to pair down gaming back to ONE game. Final Fantasy 14. (That is, until Cyberpunk is dropped and then I’m all over that one.)

My job is also about to get more stressful as I will be taking on two hats come December. I’m hoping that w...

Nanowrimo: 16,946 / 80,000

Whew… didn’t make yesterday’s goal, but I made today’s. And I’m not upset. Mostly because I work a full time retail job and I’m also editing Book One. I’m off on Thursday so I plan on working on getting the cover reveal ready for Book One. I’ve had the cover for months…but my biggest deficit is time management.

I’ve got a lot on the plate, including a house full of plumbing issues. Had a FANTASTIC master plumber come to the house last week to fix a problem with a cast iron P-trap. This dude is...

Nanowrimo: 11,770 / 80,000

Better, but still working my time between plumbing, and book one.

I can’t wait to get this house fixed and sell it. I totally want to sell it and MOVE.

I did have a revelation on the inciting incident so I’ve got that outlined for tomorrow’s writing session. That and trying to get book one to that point.

I might have over extended myself.

Nanowrimo: 9,969 / 80,000

Not as great a word count today. I’m dealing with plumbing issues as well as trying to get book one to my 3rd edit and ready to send to the copy editor in a week.

That and I keep falling asleep.

Nanowrimo: 9,469 / 80,000

Much better today. I didn’t tackle anymore of the writing yesterday, and instead spent some time on the next four chapters, outlining. I go sooo much faster when I have a roadmap.

I also spent an insane amount of time on Genshin Impact. I need to get away from that game!

I also had to start a list of things to add to book one. I kinda like this, writing book two while editing book one. Gives me a better idea of how things flow. And I’m putting together a playlist that’s developing as I write....

Nanowrimo: 6,880 / 80,000

Slower word count this morning. I started re-reading Michael Sullivan’s Riyria Series and I swear, I love these books. So my head was in Fantasy, not Women’s Paranormal. I woke up and started reading and went—Oh! Nano!

But, I got half of a chapter done at 1,780 words.

I actually need to look at the outline tonight and plot out the next few chapters. I’m just about at the inciting incident and it’s not that clear yet. But I don’t want too much “walking to the story” since that’ll probably be cu...

Nanowrimo: Non Word Day

Yep. No words today.

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten when planning a schedule, is to take a look at the month and cross out those days when you know you won’t get to the computer or be able to write due to anything.

So when I made out this calendar, I put in November 3rd as one of my non-writing days. So what did I do?

Let’s just say, I’d rather have been writing.  :P

Nanowrimo: 5,100/80,000

Yay! Second day (morning) done at my 2,500 a day word count. This is a pace I’m hoping I can keep up with since I now work a full time job. And I still love getting at least a little gaming in a day to relax before bed. I was amazed at how fast I did it. I already had the events of the scene/chapter sketched out, and I wrote it between 5:00am and 6:10am. It just happened.

Now, as we know, the draft I’m writing here, will not be the final product you see. That never happens. At least with me.
