Changing Up The Newsletter
It’s time to update the free stuff on the newsletter. I like offering Grimoire as a freebie, but I think giving readers a more pertinent offering for them when they join is better.
So…
When this website goes back up, the newsletter will no longer offer GRIMOIRE, the origin story, but CHIMERA, a pre-Chronicles and Eldritch story on how Samantha and Grey hooked up. I’m working on it this week and getting it ready for the editor to run through it. I’m also very much aware no one can see this pos...

Here we go….
Starting over on a website with nothing—and I mean nothing—is daunting. It’s got potential, but there’s really nothing more than a shell. And though it seems kinda sad, it’s also like starting fresh, which is how I am choosing to look at it.
The thing that took down my previous site was malicious code. And a lot of it. This can get in there any number of ways. And according to my previous hosting service, it did. But it wasn’t the code that prompted this complete host change and new site. It...

Filling In The Blank
I thought I’d write a post about the events of the past month. When I look back, I can’t believe it all passed so quickly. I’m of the belief that keeping readers up to date is a must. In this new world of publishing, engagement is key.
So to start, let’s get to what delayed Elemental Soul.
I have high blood pressure. I joined the ranks of the bp medicated about three years ago, not long after my father passed away from complication brought on by a stroke. And since I have a daughter and plan...

Not Just A Title Change
Readers of the Zoë Martinique books know who Dags McConnell is. Where he came from, and why he’s now on his own in Savannah, GA. New readers have no idea and not having this foreknowledge shouldn’t matter when reading The Grimoire Chronicles. And if readers want to know and can’t find Zoë books 5-7, the Zoë books will return in 2016.
Starting a new series, even when it has roots in previous stories, is always a challenge. And from the beginning, Dags’s story was, and is my first movement away...

Elemental Soul & Health
Writers don’t likedoing this—delaying something they really want to release for readers. But sometimes it has to be done.
Originally, the release for Elemental Soul was this month, May. But due to some just discovered health issues and some upcoming procedures, the release has to be pushed into June. Given some of the things I’ve discovered, my mind isn’t where it should be.
I hate, hate having to do this. But I also want to make Elemental Soul as good as it should be, given this is the first...

Great Reads At Great Deals!
One of the best things about what I do is meeting and getting to know some incredible authors, especially in the genres of Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. When I’m not writing, I’m reading. And lately, I’ve been reading a lot. So I wanted to pass along what I believe are great books / series at great prices. I’m a little behind in wanting to do posts about other books, but I’m catching up.

CHAPTER ONE: Elemental Soul, Book 5
His dreams, when he had them, came with fire. Scorching heat that burned away flesh and muscle as it tore hungrily into the bone. He cried out as he attempted again and again to break free, suspended two hundred feet in the air above a pit that led to who knows where.
What he could see was the devastated temple of a Faerie queen’s quest for power. Chunks of obsidian and stone littered the once polished floors. Cracks broke open along what had once been pathways for the denizens o...

Elemental Fire – Chapter One
“You’re not supposed to touch it! Not while I’m in it!”
“It’s not your computer—it belongs to Sam and me! I’m her partner!”
I’d just let myself in the back of my shop when I’d heard shouting from the retail area. Empty and half-filled containers of food littered the break room table, along with paper cups. A few of those cups leaked whatever sugary beverage had once been held inside of them, all over my nice giant wood table. The sink was filled with pots and pans, and a foul odor, not far o...

Elemental Flame, Prologue
For those of you who’ve read Elemental Moon, this prologue for Elemental Flame isn’t new. I’ll post the prologue today, and then post Chapter one on Monday.

February 14th, Two Days Ago
“Holliard.”
“Detective, it’s Arden Vervain.”
Crwys held his breath for a full half minute as he toned down everything he wanted to say to the newly-elected High Witch of New Orleans. Counting down from ten never worked for him. Mostly because he just came up with ten insulting things...
