Nanowrimo 2,567/50,000

Hello! I exist, and I am alive.

2020 has been…interesting. I can’t help suspect we all got hit by the Chinese curse, “May you Live in Interesting Times” and we’re hoping to come out of it in 2021. I didn’t get all of my writing goals finished, and this past week has been a bust, with power outages, as well as plumbing problems in my house. Twenty years ago I bought a house plumbed by the world’s worst plumber and have paid that price ever since. Pray I can get my bathtub unclogged this week wit...

Meals In The Mail

I hate doing dishes.

One of the things Im trying to do whilst spending time at homewith two catsall day longis make meals a bit easier. Grocery shopping is not an optionnot without arousing the ire of my daughter. And delivery is ridiculously expensive. And its not regular either. Beginning of the week, it was 7.99, then it was 3.99, and then it was 5.99.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND. WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY RIGHT NOW.

*Clears throat* Or you put your order togetherand they dont have any of your...

Final Fantasy VII Remake: Writer, get back in the chair!

Wot? Ho! Im alive!

And in the house like everyone else.

Earlier today I answered a question on Facebook from a bookseller.

How has the quarantine affected you as a writer?

I answered it honestly and in my own style. And it got me thinking ( I knowcareful). Reading over everyones answer, re-reading similar conversations and comments shared in other writers groups Im a part of, there is a commonality shared by writers, painters, videographers, interior designers, planners, jewelers, etc. You...

Making Patreon

Patreon is about choices. And the choice stressing me out is what to post on a regular monthly schedule, serial or no serial. Short stories and serial? Cats or no cats. Writing process or not.

So if anyone’s out there reading this (cause you know I did kinda vanish for a while), what would any of you like to see in a patreon offering?

Creating the Dark Backward

There are books of the heart. I also believe there are series of the heart. These are the series we dream of creating because they’re the ones we want to read. They’re built by characters that manifest in our imaginations, ready to have their stories told.

I have three of these series. And I’ve decided to get them written. I’m not getting any younger. But it’s a bit daunting to put to paper (or to file) something that’s built in one’s head for years. So it is with the first of the series for...

Ill Met By Moonlight

It’s here! The 3rd book in the Witches of Castle Falls Series. We had a patch in Final Fantasy XIV on Tuesday so once this book went live, I spent a lot of my time playing. Had to clear Alphascape to finish Omega!

I’m still not sure I’m cut out for cozies, cause I think this book breaks a few rules of the genre. But I do love the characters, and I enjoy writing them. Not to mention I see spin-off potential with the sisters and brother.

But not yet! I just hope readers enjoy the trilogy for...

Getting There Update

First off, I took a moment this morning to honor the lives lost on this day and reflect where I was when the tragedy of 911 changed our lives. I believe it was one of those pivotal moments in my life as my daughter took her first steps the day before.

I am so bad at updating information on this website. I was bad before I went back into the workforce, and since my time’s now split between the two once ag...

Zoe Short Stories / Novellas

After receiving a lot of email about the smaller stories for Zoë Martinique, and posting the question in facebook, I am happy to announce, the following stories are now available once again, with new covers and reformatted. Not all of the vendors have populated yet. Just know they will be available on Kindle, Nook, Kobo and iBooks by the end of this week. I’ll put out a newsletter with full links, as well as update the links on this website.

AND, Zoë has now been added to my list of books, f...
