How it happened: Book Cover-A Cover Alike.

Some authors want to have a cover that is like something else out. Whether because the cover has become a standard for a genre or because they have the right feel. In 2008 I was given the task of recreating Ms. Quinn's cover, without making it match of course. The feel needed to be the same.  I'm sure I did several versions, mostly trying to get the text to lay right on the page but the overall cover was a big success.  Jerrica has since then changed the cover to match the rest of the series

Travel Thursday-Feria del Queso

Once the region Conquistadors called home is dedicated to Queso de Madre. So many cheese worldwide, the love of every nation, and the moon. These though come from Espania, land of romantic languages and sultry dancing. Bull fighting and passions of many natures. Manchego, Ibores, La Serena, Torta del Casar, Murcia al vino, Idiazabal, Valdeon. Grapes and wines that are savored around the world should only have the best slices to go with them Queso in any languages would have Don Quixote

Artsy Monday-Color Me Mellow Yellow

I've told people for years that there is a psychology reason for the love of color. Not only does your favorite color say tremendous amounts about you but also can be used to your advantage. Why not? Others have been doing so for years.    With great color, comes great responsibility. After all this bright cheery color can cause babies to cry and grown men to throw a punch or two. Because of its intensity we respond in the same though we are conditioned not to. After all, from the moment we are

How it happened: Book Cover-Water Women

First of all I read the book. The mental pictures became clear and I went to work.   TWENTY-TWO VERSION.   22   The original has since beeb removed from my hard-drive. Let's face it I don't want to keep 22 versions of anything.    The basics never changed. The woman, jumping up from the water in a way that is athletic and sexy.  The moonlight that is cascading down from above to highlight her form and the sea itself. That's where the idea started after all.   Over all twenty-two slight changes

Formatting Friday: Inserts

Inserts will separate out parts of a story from each other. No, not every book gets these separations and probably fewer books should.   I have two. The first pictured would be Life as a Ghost. This story follows a young girl that fades into the background of life from high school, into college and through love. So part one is high school. Part two is college and part three is the acceptance of love. Since there were three distinct separations there are three distinct parts. The second

Artsy Monday-Color Me Fresh Green

I've told people for years that there is a psychology reason for the love of color. Not only does your favorite color say tremendous amounts about you but also can be used to your advantage. Why not? Others have been doing so for years.    "But it looked good to Charlene In John Deere green"...yes I know I'm showing my age a bit. It's all right they know me there. While my mother has several tractors, I think she prefers red or yellow (her favorite color).  Today though we are talking green. I
