Twirl and Dip (WIP) Drake's POV
He may be tired, but he wouldn't disappoint the fans who spent good money to see his sorry arse on stage.
He strode over to the door and threw it open. Security was there to escort him safely to where Sam, Wyatt, and Malcolm waited for him. Sam met his gaze, and he nodded he was ready. Sam went on stage first, heading for his kit. Once he started the intro with his drum solo, they would take their spots on stage with Malcolm on bass, and Wyatt on electric guitar. He'd go on last, front and center to belt out the lyrics to the bluesy rock song from their new album.
The roar of the crowd had his blood pumping harder as the adrenaline kicked in like it always did before he performed. He hopped on his feet and shook his hands to limber up so he could dance and run about the stage without pulling a hamstring.

He glanced in the mirror. He looked tired. Were those bags under his eyes going to permanent? He sat back in his seat with a heavy sigh. He wore a black tee and leather vest. His black jeans sported a worn-in look even though they were brand new, and his black combat boots finished off his rock star attire. He liked the clothes, but he longed to wear a pair of blue jeans and tennis shoes.
Another rap tap-tap on the door had him on his feet. "I'll be right there," he yelled back, knowing they were getting impatient. His eyes glanced at the container again with ice cream cone bits, and he had an idea of what he wanted to do, but first, he had to go on stage and give the audience a performance they wouldn't soon forget.

The knock at the door made him tense and he put the container down.
"Drake, we need you up front in ten," the person on the other side called.
"I'll be there," he said. He used to love to go on stage and sing his heart out, but they've played so many venues, non-stop for the last three years that he was burnt out. He wanted a break from it all.
His phone buzzed and he glanced at the number and the photo that popped up and pursed his lips. It was his last girlfriend. They broke up two months ago, but she wanted to get back together with him. Once he made the break from her, he realized the mistake it had been to hook up with her in the first place. He just didn't see it until he had some quiet and he could think. The woman did love her parties.

Twirl and Dip (WIP) Drake's POV
Drake closed the door to his dressing room and locked it. He leaned against the wood with a sigh of relief. The band didn't need to be on stage yet, and he needed a break from the screaming crowd and the pawing at him as if they'd like to take a bite out of him. The threat couldn't be any less real than if he were in a zombie-fest-filled-world where the masses came after him with intent to either rip off his jacket, yank a piece of his hair, or take anything else they wanted from him.
He strode over to the makeup counter with a large square mirror for the backdrop and plopped down in the seat in front of it. It was still littered with foundation, eyeliner, and moisturizers his makeup artist used on him. To the right, there were his requested items. A jar was full of waffle cones sliced in triangles like they were chips ready for dipping, a pack of peppermint gum, 12 soda bottles, 48 bottled water, room temperature, and 3 turkey sandwiches wrapped in plastic. When the band finally made it big, his manager asked him and the guys for their dressing-room demands. He had no idea what he wanted, but what he stared at in front of him now had been the hastily written down list he'd handed over, and the items were delivered to his dressing room at each venue they performed. He reached for the jar of the waffle cones and unscrewed the lid, lifting it to his nose as he closed his eyes and inhaled. Lavender was supposed to be the scent to soothe and calm, at least according to his masseuse, but sweet sugary vanilla did the trick for him.
