– Silas now realized he had smelled the charged air of a glade just before a spring thunderstorm in the vestibule just outside. Now, in these quarters, the heavy smell of the inside of a grave was back and tinted lightly with the presence of herbs and perfume.

On the home front, we’re going to begin creating a few videos of me reading segments of Roland’s Path and Fires that Forge which can be found on our Facebook page here; Facebook Bloodlines. I’ve also begun work in earnest on Stalking Shadows, Book IV of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series.
There is a short video of me reading the prologue of Fires that Forge which is up now and can be found on the Facebook page and our website, Bloodlines Reforged. So, if listening to an untrained narrator with zero talent for public speaking is your thing, this should satisfy.

I have a few more to wrap up before beginning Stalking Shadows, Book IV of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series. If you haven't read the sister series, Heirs of Vanity, now would be a good time. You can get the first three books of that series, Roland's Path, Roland's Vow, and Roland's Triumph in one box set. Each series is designed to stand alone, however, I think you'll have a deeper appreciation for the tale when coupled with the other series in the saga.

It was only natural for a man or woman to want their children to live better lives than they themselves had led. However, none are immune from the harsh realities of the world. There will always be men willing to kill to take what is not theirs. There will always be those who are hungry and cannot feed themselves. Thus, there must always be those that will stand for the weak, and feed those who are hungry. As Arto put it, ‘the villain does not create the hero, but he does reveal him.’

On the homefront, until Wednesday my wife and I were working away business as usual at our ‘essential’ professions. However, Wednesday a member of our household learned that they had been exposed to COVID-19, and thus, we are all quarantined until their test results come back.
We are endeavoring to make the best of it in that we are in the midst of a Marvel Movie Marathon. Also, the shelves that quarantine built. Of course, Margaret had to supervise, which is ridiculous because that bird can’t cut a right angle to save her life.

The Big Q
I hope this post finds you all well and adjusted to the odd circumstances we all find ourselves in.
Until yesterday my wife and I were working away business as usual at our ‘essential’ professions. However, yesterday a member of our household learned that they had been exposed and thus, we are all quarantined until their test results come back.

There’s no doubt we have it better than most in that we live in the country and I can do a few things like mow the yard, build those shelves I’ve been meaning to get around to, and check on the cattle.

It is a bit weird to go through the thought process of, ‘well, I can’t go to work so I’ll go get… oh, that’s right, I can’t go to town.’
We are endeavoring to make the best of it in that we have a Marvel Movie Marathon planned in addition to knocking out a few chores.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that, in spite of circumstances, we are excited that Book II of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series, Bloom of Blood and Bone, goes live next week and Book III, Whetstones of the Will, releases on May the 4th (no, that’s not a coincidence).
