Notable and Quotable

This week’s Notable and Quotable comes from Bloom of Blood and Bone-

-Lynneare, the only one to master Elvvleth in life, widower of two wives, the father of three ladies and one lord of Stratvs, grappled the forces of the universe with sheer force of will and unmitigated love; and he wept. It had been centuries since Maloch, once Lord High Paladin of Time, no more Maloch of the Black Lance, had stood watch while Lynneare struggled against the forces of the Sands of Time and the pull of the suns and stars.

Fires that Forge (Book I) is available on Amazon now, the pre-order for Bloom of Blood and Bone (Book II) is live as we speak AND look for Whetstones of the Will (Book III) on Amazon the first week of May.

I’m asking for a favor here. It will take about 2 minutes of your time. I would appreciate it if you would consider voting for ‘Fires that Forge’ as ‘Best Fantasy Novel’ for the Dragon Con Award this year.

You can learn more about the book, and us, here; http://www.bloodlinesreforged.com Thank you for taking a couple of minutes out of your day for us!

Oh, and I need to mention that we added some info to our website.  You can now find a beginning glossary and fledgling geography index page.  If you have any questions about a term, phrase, or location, just shoot us an email and we’ll do our best to answer it.

In other news, I need to let you know about two bundles of horror, sci/fi, suspense, and fantasy works that you can ready right now on KU (Kindle Unlimited) for free!  You can find the bundles here, Spring Sci/Fi and Fantasy Bundle and here, The Unlimited Fantasy and Science Fiction Bundle.

I also need to tell you about my friend’s book, Plagueborne.  Here’s the scoop from Amazon;

The old gods are dead… But are the new ones any better?  In the aftermath of a revolution that nearly tore the continent apart, a devastating plague threatens to consume all that remains.  As cities fall to ruin, and talk of witchcraft and fell beasts spread, a zealous religious order emerges… But can they be trusted?

PLAGUEBORNE offers the first two novels in a trilogy of gripping high-fantasy novels. The debut possesses all the beloved hallmarks fans of the genre will recognise, but is distinguished by its gritty atmosphere and confrontation with some of the most unsettling chapters of human history.

I caught some of the pets conducting a re-enactment of a scene from the Lord of the Rings.  I told them they were a hobbit short (hehe, get it? a hobbit short) but they said T2 (one of the other barn cats) was being difficult and a ‘drama queen.’  Whatever.  It’s their retelling so I guess they are taking some poetic license with the whole thing.

Until next time, ‘Crush your Enemies!’

Notables and Quotables

This week's Notable and Quotable comes from Bloom of Blood and Bone, Book II in the Lords of Order and Chaos Series, available for pre-order now.
-Dunewell could clearly see the calm come to Jonas’s face, but that did not ease his concern. Dunewell had not observed Jonas travel from rage to reason. The transformation Dunewell had witnessed was from an angry man threatening murder to a rational man planning one.

Fires that Forge is available on Amazon now, the pre-order for Bloom of Blood and Bone is live as we speak AND I completed the first draft of Whetstones of the Will this week! Look for it on Amazon the first week of May. https://www.amazon.com/R.J.-Hanson/e/...

We also have a couple of bundles I want to let you know about. Working with a few other authors, we've put together this package of tales you can download for free! You can find that package here; Horror, Suspense, Thriller, and Fantasy!
https://storyoriginapp.com/to/ivZ2P3Z

If you have Kindle Unlimited (KU) we put together this list of books available to read there for free! You can find those titles here; Beasts of Fantasy!
https://storyoriginapp.com/to/zgwGc9a

In other news, we've adapted our gaming day given the requirements of quarantine that we are all dealing with to one degree or another. We've incorporated a bit of tech to include our players that can't make the trip for Game Day. A huge shout out to Discord, Roll 20, and other services that are making this and so many other gatherings possible.

We also took a break this week from writing and editing to get a few chores out of the way. By applying a bit of elbow grease we burned two stumps and eliminated a brush pile in the process. We are also proud to report another healthy calf born earlier this week!

We also got a visit from the editor/daughter and her pup, Lilly Belle. She and Maggie are enjoying the better weather as well!

Until next time, 'Crush your Enemies!'

Notable and Quotable

This week’s Notable and Quotable from Bloodlines Reforged!

I know the events in the world around us have affected us all to one degree or another. So, help where you can, and do what you can. The phrase the British coined in the preparatory days of World War II has been oft-quoted, ‘keep calm, and carry on.’

Boy, there’s a lot going on in this week’s newsletter!

This week’s notable and quotable comes Fires that Forge, Book I of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series which releases MONDAY!  (sorry, I got a bit carried away there.  I’m super excited about it.)
Inquisitor Dunewell stepped to the side, and Doctor Morosse shuffled past him, tracking moisture from the morning dew across the polished black and white marble floor of the inquisitor’s quarters.  Dunewell noted that, despite the walk from Morosse House to Blackstone, Silas’s feet also stained the marble with traces of blood.
“Dune, they’re… they’re dead…both of them…murdered,” Silas finally managed as Dunewell closed the door.  “She… mother… and my father, they’re both dead.”

As mentioned above, Fire’s that Forge releases Monday, 4/06/2020. Pre-orders are available now for $2.99 for a limited time and can be found here; Fires that Forge  Pre-orders for Book II in the series, Bloom of Blood and Bone, go on sale on Monday as well!

Starting today for a limited time, you can download our first book, Roland’s Path (Book I of the Heirs of Vanity Series) on KU for free!

Weekly Game Day update; last week our heroes, Silver Helms from Modins, discovered a long lost altar in the fallen temple of Merc.  Within, they found a few potent artifacts and must now determine exactly what to do with them.  Of course, they must survive the gathering scothen (vicious meat-eating creatures featured in our short story, Depths of Nolcavanor) and defend the nearby village first.

Oh, I need to mention Enemy Lines: The Separatist Wars Book: 0 If you enjoy reading sci/fi and combat written by someone with the chops and real-world experience to back it up, this is the book for you! Oh, and did I mention you can get it for FREE right now on Amazon?

Also, we’re offering a defense against boredom! If you have Kindle Unlimited (KU), we’ve just begun a bundle with a few other authors posting our tales of horror, suspense, and epic fantasy there for free! You can find them here; https://storyoriginapp.com/to/zgwGc9a here https://storyoriginapp.com/to/AWRNb6S and here https://storyoriginapp.com/to/3SuQPGh
We also have a link to a whole set of horror, fantasy, suspense, and thrillers for anyone for FREE! That’s right, click the link below for a whole bundle of works available for a limited time as free downloads! https://storyoriginapp.com/to/ivZ2P3Z

In local news, spring has sprung here in north Texas at the Hanson Ranch.  We have new calves hitting the ground, hay crops greening up nicely, plenty of mowing to do, and a fine dusting of pollen!  So, now it’s time for me to take another benadryl and get back to my chores.

As always, you can find the rest of our tales on Amazon here; the Bloodlines Reforged Saga.

Notables and Quotables

Now it's time for this week's Notable and Quotable!

I know the events in the world around us have affected us all to one degree or another. So, help where you can, and do what you can. The phrase the British coined in the preparatory days of World War II has been oft-quoted, 'keep calm, and carry on.'

This week's notable and quotable comes Bloom of Blood and Bone, Book II of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series set to release in April 2020.
- Lady Belyska bit her lower lip. Her path had been made clear to her so why did she doubt? People were always asking for a sign from Silvor or some other god or goddess. Those people were only lying to themselves. Those people knew what they were supposed to do but were afraid to do it. Now, for the first time, she was among their number. She knew what she must do, but she was afraid.

We are gearing up for the release of Fire's that Forge, Book I of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series, on 4/06/2020. Pre-orders are available now for $2.99 for a limited time and can be found here; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...

As a pre-release treat, we made a short story of high adventure available on Amazon for $.99 and free on KU! You can find Death of a City, Birth of a Curse here; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...

So, today our gaming group takes a trip to Stratvs! The players, many of them Silver Helms, have rescued the maiden in distress. Now they must escape an angry mob of cultists who worship the fallen champion, Prechii, the demon prince of Hate and Murder. Yeah, they're not very nice people. Luckily for our heroes, they've befriended the nearby tribe of centaurs who comprise a remarkable light cavalry.

In other news, despite the quarantine, we got a visit from the editor and her assistant (aka my daughter and grand-puppy)
Aren't they just the cutest?

Until next time, don't forget to 'Crush your Enemies!'

Notables and Quotables

I know the events in the world around us have affected us all to one degree or another. So, help where you can, and do what you can. The phrase the British coined in the preparatory days of World War II has been oft-quoted, 'keep calm, and carry on.'

This week's notable and quotable comes from Bloom of Blood and Bone, Book II of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series; pre-orders going live 4/06/2020.

-If an intended strike can be seen, it can be countered. Had that been a cut to your arm you would begin to lose strength in it. You would be fighting against time, needing to end the battle before you bled to death. You may be wondering if our style is better than your own. In answer, I offer the fact that a Silver Helm, formerly a lord of the Tarborat front, now fetches my wine. - A'Ilys, drow Master of Spies.

We are gearing up for the release of Fire's that Forge, Book I of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series, on 4/06/2020. Pre-orders are available now for $2.99 for a limited time and can be found here; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...

I want to take a moment to mention The Perfect Fight by S.Y. Humphrey. You can find it here; https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Fight-...
"My name is Galilee Bartlett. I'm from Liberty, Texas. It's the year 2031, and though I'm only seventeen, I guess you can say I'm already at my wit's end. My father, the former mayor of Liberty, an honorable farmer and a veteran who fought for his country, is dying. He's got a rare, untreatable disease. The doctors have stopped seeing him. In our new genetic-based government of Perfect Society, a computer algorithm has determined that my family doesn't have enough "value" to justify keeping my dad alive."
As for me, I like the looks of it and am certainly adding it to my reading list.

In local news, kidney stones are not nearly as much fun as advertised. However, we have eliminated the scarier possibilities, so I can be happy with kidney stones and consuming less potassium.

Also, tomorrow we are celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and the 1st anniversary of the release of Roland’s Path! My bride surprised me yesterday with my gifts. She presented me with a coffee cup and travel mug with our publishing trademark (and a certain character’s family crest) on them! How cool is that!?

Finally, today is EVILPALOOZA! Once or twice a year we get together for a major gaming session where our evil characters dust off their best weapons and curses and throw down. I'm suiting up Hellmog, my orc burglar. He's certainly not the bruiser my half-troll indurate is, but he is sneaky. So, time for me to carb up, get some more coffee in me, and get the gaming room together.

Until next time, 'Crush your Enemies!'

Notables and Quotables

This week's notable and quotable comes from Fires That Forge, Book I of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series available for pre-order in just 3 day!

-Dunewell was afraid of what Silas might know and what that knowledge would mean. Furthermore, if he really didn’t know any more about the murders than he had said, who would believe him?
Dunewell realized he must halt his exploration of the matter by imagination. Evidence. Information. Those would unlock the doors barred to him. If anyone else knew what had happened, those were the keys to finding them.

The winner of the autographed copy of Fires that Forge has been notified by email. Thank you all for participating. I hope you still got something out of our short stories and exclusive content. If you haven't signed up for our newsletter yet, you can do so here to be entered into our next contest; www.bloodlinesreforged.com

In other news, I'm having a small medical procedure Tuesday, which may affect the announcement Monday of the pre-orders going live. It is set up to auto-start, but if you get a crazy message from me Monday or Tuesday, it's probably just the meds talking.

I also want to take a moment to mention an upcoming book, Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: A Tale of Beauty and the Beast by Jacque Stevens. (cover pictured below) If you like inspirational heroines, unique love stories, and some darker thrills and chills this paranormal/shifter romance is for you! You can find it on Amazon available for pre-order now.

Well, time to sign off. I need to get some words down on my work in progress (and I'm tempted to tinker with the half-troll Indurate I'm playing in tomorrow's game).
Until next time, don't forget to 'Crush Your Enemies!'

Notables and Quotables

This week's notable and quotable comes from Fires That Forge, Book I of the Lords of Order and Chaos Series available for pre-order in just 9 days!

"I don’t care if I’m counted among the sinners, you understand. But what I did was justice. Justice among sinners such as are kept in Moras is a horror. It is important to me that you understand that. I’m sure you feel that I’ve broken the law. To that I would say, I no longer obey the laws of nature, much less the laws of men."

The KDP countdown deal has come to a close, but there is still time to sign up for our newsletter, www.bloodlinesreforged.com , for a chance to win an autographed copy of Fires That Forge. We'll be drawing one lucky winner on Friday, 3/13/2020.

I would be remiss if I failed to wish Craig Davis of the youtube group Davis&Davis a happy birthday today. He and his wife, Amber, have some great D&D content they post along with the other folks at Eyes of the Beholder ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fr1a... ).

In other news I'm still tobacco free, but I'm really going to have to do something about this doggy treats habit I've developed. I'm still on schedule with the daily exercises as well. I've only missed one day this year, which was last week when we went to see our son Alex who had knee surgery. I can forgive myself for that one miss.

Around the ranch, we've had a total of 14 new baby calves hit the ground in that last couple of weeks and they are all full of spit and vinegar. It is quite a bit of fun to watch them run, buck and play.

So, it's time for me to get a few more words down on Whetstones of the Will, book III of Lords of Order and Chaos, and prep for today's gaming session. Our friendly group of adventurers find themselves in the main chamber of an evil temple amidst a horrible ritual they must bring to a stop. The lives of many, including their own, depend on their success!
Until next time, don't forget to 'Crush Your Enemies!'
