Here’s the finished cover to the special Vampirella art book. San Jose Big Wow Comic Fest is publishing a very rare Vampirella themed art book, only available at the Big Wow Comic Fest show. (April 18 -19)
Funny story about this art. Originally I was (and still am) oil painting this Vampirella cover and I screwed up. I’m in process of fixing it (repainting a large portion of it) and I realized that I didn’t have enough time to fix and dry the oil paint properly before the deadline. So my hairy and talented buddy, Brandon Peterson, came to my rescue. I still had the original prelim line art scanned and Brandon was great enough to digitally color that in no time. And he nailed it. Far better than how my oil painting was turning out. (Thanks Brandon. You’re a mensch!)
Anyway, Big Wow Comic Fest is only printing a limited amount of this Vampirella art book so if you want a copy, be sure to come to Big Wow Comic Fest in San Jose http://bigwowcomicfest.com

“V” for Vampirella. I’m doing the cover to the special San Jose Big Wow Comic Fest’s Vampirella art book. I’ve never done a Vampirella cover or pin-up before, so I’m having fun drawing her and her impractical costume.
Right now I’m in process of oil painting this Vampy pin-up. But if I screw up I may have the original line art digitally colored.
Big Wow Comic Fest will print a limited number of these Vampirella art book. So if you want one, your best bet is to come to the show and buy one.
