Books for Father’s Day

FRANK CHO Father's Day Books

Happy Father’s Day, you breeders! Every year, I like to treat myself nicely on this day, usually with books and movies. This year is no different. This weekend, I went out and bought myself bunch of books.

These three books are currently on top of my read pile.

*THE COMPLETE TORPEDO, Volume 5 by Sanchez Abuli and Jordi Bernet.

I love Torpedo. I first came across it when I was a kid in middle school and was hooked ever since. I love these O. Henry type short stories with morally gray characters and clever twist endings. Some of the stories get dark and brutal at times, but Jordi Bernet’s lush brush work makes them palatable and endearing.

*AMERICAN VAMPIRE, Volume 3 by Scott Synder, Rafael Albuquerque, and Sean Murphy.

I’m a huge horror fan. I love a good vampire story and I ain’t talking about those gay-ass sparkling Seattle kind either. I’ve read the first 2 volumes of American Vampire and liking it so far. Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque are adding another exciting branch to the already full vampire mythology tree. I can’t wait to see where this book leads.

*THE SIXTH GUN, Book 1 by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt.

I just started reading this, so I don’t have a clue what this is about. What I’ve read so far is pretty entertaining. This book came highly recommended by a friend of mine who has similar taste in comics as I. It looks like a fun twist on the western-supernatural genre.

That’s all for now. Have a great Father’s Day, everyone.

Liberty Meadows Calendar Debuting at San Diego Comicon

FRANK CHO Liberty Meadows Brandy pencils

It was a tough choice, but my anal retentiveness got the better of me and I’ve decided to debut the Liberty Meadows calendar at San Diego Comicon next month, instead of debuting it Heroes Con in two weeks.

There were couple of pin-ups that I wasn’t too happy about, so I decided to take the extra time and do it right.

Since I have nothing to sell at Heroes Con and to fill the gap, I’m gonna do one or two convention sketches. (Full figure, Pencil, $800 each with minimum background.) So first come, first served.
