Hollows Gazette is out

This weekend, Guy sent out a Hollows Gazette, so if you've signed up for the newsletter and didn't get it, check your spam folder!  ;-)   We send them out about four times a year, and the fliers out about twice as often as that.  It's a great way to keep up with me if you're not wanting to check the website frequently.  If you want to sign up, here's the link.  Hollows Gazette  If you want the latest, email Guy and ask him!  (You won't be on the mailing list, but you can see what the fuss is...

Yay! It's Friday!

Happy Friday, guys.  I didn't get done nearly the amount of work I wanted to get done this week, but there it is, which means I'll be putting in a long, full day today instead of knocking out early.  (boo-hoo, listen to me . . . )  Guy is going to try to get a Hollows Gazette out this weekend, so if you've not signed up, here's the link.   Hollows Gazette    If you've never gotten a Gazette, they are kind of fun newsletters that we put out about every quarter.  We will also send out...

Were all alike, us writer types

Earlier this week I had tea with fellow writer Faith Hunter and came away from it with a few realizations.  The first being, as always, that I really need to get out more.  (laugh)  The second that you are never to good at your craft to not need someone to talk things over with. (I always come from our teas rejunivated .)  The third being that although the lives and work of a writer is pretty much solitary and self-taught, that every single writer, I'm guessing, is probably exactly alike...

And so the rewriting continues

Worked a little on the graphic novel yesterday, trying to fine-tune the character looks, (Ivy is being difficult) but mostly it was Rachel and Trent in her backyard discussing things in book nine.  I'm liking this book a LOT, but I find I'm in a quandary.  Over book eight, Trent and Rachel start to redefine their relationship.  (Relax, there are more kinds of relationships other than hate and sex.)  Trent has shifted his focus and some of his reactions are still based in his old frame of...

If you live in Minneapolis . . .

I will be there in a few weeks.  I'm starting to gear up for ARCANA, which is a small conference run in Minneapolis, October 16th to 18th.  I'll be there a day early for a signing at Dreamhaven on Thursday, October 15, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  I'm really looking forward to it!  Hope to see some of you there.

Since you all liked my spider . . .

And we're getting close to Halloween and all things scary, I thought you might get a kick out of my snake, Steve.  Steve is  a black snake.  He eats birds, rats, mice, and, I'm told by the locals,  other snakes like the Copperheads also in this area, but I think that he's being confused with the King snake, which in this area is black with white rings.

In any case, snakes give Guy the creeps, too.  I grew up with snakes and I've a healthy respect for them, but if a snake were to have the...

Kim's Garden Spider

Yesterday I showed you Guy's dancing dog.  Today, to celebrate the upcoming month of Halloween (yes, I celebrate Halloween an entire month) I've got a picture of our garden spider.

Gardenspider

First, let me just tell you that Guy hates spiders, and at least twice a year he can be seen skulking around the house with two cans of wasp killer like a gunman from the west, hunting for these big, hairy, brown spider that we get in September.  It's the only time they show, and they make webs that could catch a...

Guy's Dancing Dog

GuysDancingDog

You asked for it, and so here it is.  This is Guy's "oddest" desk thing.  I had to sneak up to his office to take it.  (grin)  Honestly, I didn't stage it with the book and the mug.  He's got some sort of a collection going.  How the dog fits in there, I don't know.  I gave it to him about five years ago, and it's been glued once, so he must really like it.  (bigger grin)

As for me?  After a couple of weeks of cramming, I'm ramping down to a more reasonable work load.  I've got page proofs...

White Witch, Black Curse mm cover

lrwwbcYou guys are in for a treat this year!  They have decided to stick with the original artwork for the mass market of White Witch, Black Curse.  Just so you know, they did have a new piece of artwork for the mass market made up, and I've actually seen it.  (It's beautiful, but some of the imagery didn't sit well with the powers that be.)  I'm sure they will use it somewhere, but such is the power behind the buyers who didn't like it, it was scrapped.

Am I upset?  Nope.  I get such fantastic...
