Just a tad overwhelmed. . . ;-)
Dudes. I can not believe the response I got yesterday after breaking the news about the graphic novels. You guys are the best! (Happy sigh) It will be a prequel of the year where Ivy and Rachel worked together at the I.S. from Ivy's point of view. I wanted the chance to see Ivy go from flat-out disappointment,to grudging respect, to an unlooked for love. I wanted the chance to see more of the vampire politics. I wanted to see something more comfortable and concreate in terms of crimes

Kim Harrison's Hollows Goes Graphic
Ta-da! (big silly grin) It's been a rough month, but I finally feel comfortable singing the news from the rooftops. Contracts are signed, and I actually have the first story written at what would be my "dialog" stage if I was making this a normal novella. The Hollows is going graphic! Whooo-hoo!
I want to try to do the scrip myself to preserve as much of the original feel as I can, (not to mention the new media is facinating), so I've been studying graphic novels the past month to try to get

Unbound Anthology due in August
Monday! And I'm back in the office. Whoo-hoo! (No, seriously, I'm excited.) We pulled back into Rock Hill Saturday, giving us all day Sunday to recoup from vacation. Somedays, I think Guy and I relax too hard.
I'll be spending the next couple of weeks with Rachel brushing up the next full-length Hollows novel, titled Black Magic Sanction. Guy is already putting together the tour Ts, and they look wicked. (grin) We'll have them available closer to the year-end holidays.
But if you're pining

Headed South
I am having a hard time believing that I've been out of the office for two entire weeks, and my vacation is almost over! (pout) Guy, I, and Thing Two have had a great time enjoying the cooler, drier weather that Michigan has to offer, and I again remember what real grass is supposed to look like. Though we have a couple of days left, it feels like the end for me since we topped off the visit with my mom and dad with a spur-of-the-moment family get-together.
Wonderful.
I likely won't be pos

Next Stop, Mackinaw
I couldn't make Guy spend our entire vacation playing in the dirt, so we took a couple of days, left the puppies with "grandma and grandpa," and headed on up to Mackinaw!

Mackinac Bridge
You might notice the different spellings between the city and the bridge. When I was growing up, they were the same. Somewhere along the way, they decided to use the French spelling for the bridge and the island, but they are pronounced the same. Here's a link to the bridge cam on the St. Ignace side of the bri

. . . And After!
As some of you might know, I've been visiting my folks this week. My mom is where I got my green thumb, and my dad is where I got my lack of fear to try stuff and see what happens. I got my stick-to-it from both of them.
When you get all three of us together, and then Tim (Guy) is there with his expertise, there is bound to be trouble. Fortunately I brought my shovel, bucket, work gloves, and my clippers, and instead of trouble, we worked on one of their landscaping "issues" that they inherit

Before . . .
So . . . this year for vacation, I'm visiting my folks. I packed two shovels, a bucket, two pair of gloves, a saw to cut roots, and my big yellow hat. And some clothes, I think . . .
They recently purchased a nice home in need of some landscaping. You see where this is going? (grin)
So we get there a few hours before sunset, and by the time the sun goes down, we not only have a plan, but we are about a third of the way done. We finished today apart from the plants (after picture tomorrow) and

Play Time
Big news today is Jocelynn Drake's give away extravaganza! She is giving away a book a week until she runs out, and Dead Witch Walking is the first one up! You have until Saturday to buzz on over to her blog and make a post to put yourself in the running. More details at her blog. Good luck! This is a great way to start your hardcover collection of the Hollows or get your friend hooked if you already have a signed copy. (grin)
As for my vacation? We passed the Pioneer Sugar factory yesterd

And the winner is . . .
Last night we had dinner with one of my writer friends, Jocelynn Drake, managing to take thirty minutes to get to the restraurant across the street. Don't ask. But we were up bright and early this morning and headed for . . .
The Cincinnati zoo! Yup, I, Guy, and Thing two spent the day at the Cincinnati Zoo, and did we get tired!. We ate too much zoo food, but I think we walked it off. Cincinnati has a world-class zoo, so if you ever get the chance to go, go!
We parked on Vine and used the ne
Kim Harrison's Vacation. First stop: Cincinnati!
Okay, campers! Day one of my vacation, and our first stop is . . . Cincinnati!
I swear, I just can't stay away. I'll be doing some research for a few days, and then I'll move on to the next stop, but for today, I'll be having fun in Cincy
More pictures after the cut.
If you've been watching the news, Gaffney, SC has been in the news for a serial killer, fresh out of jail and on a killing spree. This took place less than a 30 minute drive from my house. Gaffney is known for other things. Like
