Fifty-Two Stories submission

I'm writing this using my battery this morning.  We still have electricity, but I yanked everything out of the wall in case we got zapped.  There's a line of thunderstorms coming through.  It's a welcome rain we're getting, but ooooo . . . Guy can jump really fast when a bolt hits thirty yards away at his back.  (grin)  I shouldn't laugh.  The only reason I didn't jump was because I saw it hit.  But it's moving on, even as I do my spell check, so I think we're good.

I do have a bit more news...

Back in the Office

I'm back in the office, feeling like a bushy-tailed squirrel after a relaxing weekend topped off by a fire in the fire pit last night.  Ahhhh.   Don't ask me why I feel like a bushy-tailed squirrel, but I do.  Twitchy, maybe.  (grin)  I'm starting something new today, and that always puts me in a mood.  My copy edit for book eight won't be here for a few days, and that's not long enough to get my rewrite on book nine done, and besides, I'd rather wait and do the ce first so there is a good...

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day!  If you're not in the US, this is the day that we have cook-outs, eat hot dogs, and try to enjoy ourselves outside as the summer starts to wane.  I'll be puttering around outside, trying not to work, but as you can see, I just put in about two hours. . . .  (Bad Kim!  Go outside!)

Enjoy the day!

So I says to Guy . . .

Let's go get a cup of coffee.   And your entire life changes.

That's one of the reasons I'm addicted to writing, and it is an addiction.  I'm in a rather introspective mood this morning as I get ready to send off my brand-new, shiny graphic novel to my new editor, both confident and not.   And I'm sorry, but your going to bear the brunt of my mood, which is a conglomeration of about a months worth of unrelated experiences.  But back to the coffee and how it relates to my work/life.

Let's go...

I Saw The Tunnels!

As I was driving through Cincy on my way home yesterday, I saw two of the openings to the tunnel system that sits under Cincy in various places.  It was soooo cool!  I had read that you can see the openings from Interstate 75, and I look every time, and yesterday, I saw them!  Plain as day, and a hundred times bigger and more obvious than I thought they'd be, right before the Harrison Street exit, if you can believe it.  Dude, it totally made my day.  It was better than ice cream.  ;-)   –Kim

What happened to Tuesday?

Er, I know I usually make a post every day, but I'm visiting with family between deadlines, and the drama box sort of got away from me.   I knew you all wouldn't mind.  (grin)  But I'm back again, and trying to catch up. –Kim

Not much going on . . .

Monday!  And I've got my tea.  I NEED my tea this morning.  Badly.  (grin)  The graphic novel is just about ready for me to turn in, so I'm turning my eyes back to the regular Hollows novels, and hopefully I'll carry something of the skill set I'm trying to develop with the GN with me.  Looks like copy edit and a quick brush through book nine, and then new stuff for book ten.  I'll let you know how it goes by Christmas.  (Ha!) –Kim

Unbound's Upcoming Radio Show.

It was a masterpiece of juggling, but my editor, Diana Gill, managed to somehow find a spot of time that we would all be available, and we have a unique opportunity coming up in September.  All five of the contributors in the UNBOUND anthology will be together (by phone) to answer your questions about our stories or our experiences in the writing industry in general.

Unbound Radio Show

If you have ever been to one of these live Internet radio broadcast's before, you'll know they are a lot of fun.  I usually have o

Urban Fantasy Releases in August

childthiefI was so excited to have the anthology UNBOUND coming out, that I forgot all about another release that I've been waiting for.  CHILD THIEF by Brom has hit the shelves this week too.  I read this while it was still in manuscript form, and I loved it.  Brom is already known for his Fantasy artwork, and he has done his own cover (a dream for most authors, right there) and gone on to include artwork on the inside as well, so it's a real treat.

CHILD THIEF is  a gruesome, manipulative retelling of th

Hollows Music Page Back Up And Running

. . . finally.  ;-)   Once I got into it, it wasn't that hard, and there are some few cosmetic changes I need to get in and work on, but the music page is again open for suggestions.  You can either access it from the original page on the website–which then will shunt you over here to leave comments, or access the pages directly from here.  The big difference is that you actually build the playlist by leaving comments at the character's page instead of leaving them in one big pot for me to sort out
