No one had a cell phone?

Err . . . previous rant removed because it was too snarky.  Good movie.  Lots of blood, lots of drama, but honestly, do the writers really expect me to swallow that no one on the entire friggen city had a cell phone to call for help or tell the guys with guns where the bad guy was?  And what's with shooting said bad guy, and then letting him walk away?  You shoot him once, you follow up and shoot him again!   I went to bed with a headache I was so irritated.

Must be Friday.  I'm feeling . . . ...

Rainy days are made for jazz

The front they expected to come through this afternoon came early, and I woke to the sound of thunder in the distance and rain on my roof.  Ahhh, I like rainy days.  The radio will be shifting over to jazz this morning.  At least as long as the cars are making that wet shush sound on wet pavement.

Got another chapter brushed up yesterday.  Spent a few hours tidying the old Al font that I thought was too curvy, and turned it into Takata's font.  I wasn't planning on giving him his own font...

Easy Tuesday

Monday I didn't get out of the office until almost 9:30, but Tuesday I scampered out at an easy-peasy 6:00!  Chapter five eased through the brushing up process with little to no kicking and screaming, so I treated myself to a few hours in the yard, followed by a few hours in a chair, knitting a scarf for Thing Two.  I'm going to try to put his name on it, so we'll see how that goes.  Sort of make it look athletic.  I need something to pick him out of the crowd, and this might help.

I almost...

Rough Monday

It was a rough Monday, but I punched through it.  The Were regestry gave me some trouble.  I had to resort to footers and headers to get it to look right, which the layout people at HarperVoyager are going to gnash their teeth at, but it was either put the information in an extended header and footer, or use text boxes, and I think text boxes in Word are the devil's plaything.  (As in really easy to set up and use, but they move around the page as if they are possessed.)

The long nights at...

Rainy, beautiful weekend

The weather got cold and damp Saturday, which required a fire in the kitchen, which evolved into making sugar cookies.  They didn't turn out quite right, which means I have to make them again before too long.  (Oh, darn!)  I'd like to say it was the oven, but it is only five degrees cooler than it's supposed to be, and the oven I'm used to is ten degrees off.  I think it's the flour.  I can't find the stuff I'm used to using, and you'd be surprised how much the grade of flour effects a...
