Generative AI Not Understood By Young People… Educators Are To Blame

Generative AI Not Understood By Young People… Educators Are To Blame

Fascinating research via Hopelab and the Center for Digital Thriving at Harvard Graduate School of Education examining how young people perceive and interact with generative AI technologies show very slow adoption of this transformational technology. I think our educational system is to blame for not bringing AI into the classroom.

US Presidential Debate: Hype, Spin, Memes, and Newsjacking

US Presidential Debate: Hype, Spin, Memes, and Newsjacking

Thursday June 27 brings the first US Presidential debate of the 2024 election season. I love watching it play out before, during, and after the 90 minutes the candidate spar live on stage. The media will be hyping, the campaigns will be spinning, and memesters will be doing their viral thing. We may see some clever newsjacking too.

What’s fascinating to me as a marketing strategist is the different ways people will consume the content of the debate. Just like marketing for a company, there are different buyer personas when the product is a candidate appealing for votes.

Fans First Banana Ball Delights at Sold Out Fenway Park Game

When Jesse Cole was a baseball-loving kid growing up near Boston, he dreamed of playing at Fenway Park. On Saturday, his Savannah Bananas, the team he’s owned since 2016, played their debut at Fenway, delighting the largest crowd at the storied ballpark this year. This is a story of the powerful results of putting fans first.

Shine On, Dream On, Play On Bill Walton

Shine On, Dream On, Play On Bill Walton

Bill Walton, noted Deadhead and NBA basketball Hall-of-Famer, was the happiest and most upbeat person I’ve ever met. He had a kind word for everybody and absolutely loved his life and everybody who was a part of it.

Samsung’s “UnCrush” Video Newsjacking of Apple Fail

Samsung’s “UnCrush” Video Newsjacking of Apple Fail

Several hours ago, Samsung released a remarkable video response to the recent Apple CRUSH video. The text at the end “Creativity cannot be crushed” wonderfully trolls Apple. This is a great example of Newsjacking.

Apple Apologizes for CRUSH Video Misstep

Apple Apologizes for CRUSH Video Misstep

Last week, just a few hours after its release, I wrote about Apple’s soul crushing, creator destroying video CRUSH, an ad released to launch the new iPad Pro. The next day, Apple apologized for its misstep.

Apple’s Soul Crushing, Creator Destroying Metaphor for what AI is Doing to Society

Apple’s Soul Crushing, Creator Destroying Metaphor for what AI is Doing to Society

In a massive fail, Apple used a truly heartbreaking video to launch its new iPad Pro yesterday. I’m not the only one who is disappointed in a company that was founded to aid in creativity.
