'Casting a Circle' a Killing Time short story
As promised, Alexa and I wrote a short story featuring Hallister and Magnus from Killing Time. We loved them and wanted to take a look at when they were a couple and what happened after Magnus was injured. It is spoilery for Killing Time so be warned!
It's archived here.
Our thanks to our editor, Serena, for looking at it for us and catching our mistakes.

Sir, Revisited
A while back, I wrote a short original story with a nameless Dom and sub, titled 'Sir'. They stuck in my head and I decided to see how they met. It's a WiP; I'm adding to it when I'm in the mood, but there are 14,000 words here I'm happy with and this is part one of their story. I included the original snippet at the start.
You can read it here:

Good bye Bill
I just found out that a friend of mine, Bill Patterson has died suddenly. Devastated. We met in 1997 through the Heinlein fandom and it was he who encouraged me to write for the Heinlein Journal, my first experience of being in print. I had the honor of writing a review of his book on Stranger in a Strange Land for the Journal.
Bill was cultured, courteous, and possessed of intellect, charm and integrity. His biography of Heinlein was a tour de force and I was eagerly anticipating the second volume. Amazon has it coming out in June. I wish he could see the reception it will get; I know it will be a good one.
There are a few BNFs in the Heinlein fandom and Bill was indisputably one of them. I'm honored to have been his friend and to have learned so much from him about Heinlein, writing, and the art of diplomacy when we were directors of the Heinlein Society for a brief time.
He was a dear friend of Ginny Heinlein, a lady I was proud to count as a friend too, and he was...he was special.

WiPs and Freebies
Loving the whole, not suffering from writer's block thing, but I'm exhausted. Proud to say I've written 48,000 words in five weeks for a new book for Totally Bound, BDSM contemporary set in Vancouver.
It's going really well and I'm loving the chance to use this setting. I went there on holiday a few years back and fell head over heels in love with it. Not just the city, but the mountains and Vancouver Island; incredibly beautiful.
Now if I can uncramp my fingers and straighten my back, I'll walk away from the keyboard and start cooking supper, heh.
Oh, and for those who enjoyed Killing Time, as soon as we're both free, Alexa and I are doing a freebie short focusing on Magnus and Hallister because we liked them a lot and want to know more about them.
Magnus stood, touched the blood on his face, still wet, then studied his fingertips, a puzzled frown creasing his forehead. “I’m bleeding.”
Hallister caught him as he fell, swinging Magnus up into his arms with a grunt and staggering back. “Jesus, someone get his legs before I drop him. I’m too old to play Rhett, and he’s no fucking Scarlett.”

My Non Fiction
Strange though it might seem, my first published work was non-fiction. I did a handful of essays for The Heinlein Journal and a short examination of the Giles/Spike relationship on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I can still remember getting that comp copy of the Journal in the mail and seeing my words in print for the first time.
Nothing like it. Then I discovered the Journal is archived by the Bodleian in Oxford and might have hyperventilated slightly...
Anyway, it's all here on a nice pale yellow background which dates it severely as I haven't used that in years:

Book giveaway contest!
Barb, an m/m book reviewer at Live Your Life, Buy the Book, turns fifty this month and to celebrate Loose Id asked her to choose 16 of her favorite books. Seven people will be chosen to get a freebie off the list of favorites.
The post is here
What makes it interesting is that she asked the authors to say a little about each book too.
I'm very chuffed because THREE of the sixteen are ones Alexa and I wrote. Alexa wrote about Bound and Determined, I did The Broken Triangle, then for Truthful Change, we batted questions back and forth between us, discussing one of the controversial elements of the story; the cheating.
There are some wonderful stories on the list so check it out!
