Currently reading – Affections by Rodrigo Hasbún. Hasbún is a Bolivian writer born in 1981. This slim, strange novel fictionalizes the life of Hans Ertl, the cinematographer for Leni Riefenstahl (Hitler’s main propagandist), as he escapes to Bolivia after the war and searches for a lost Incan city with his two daughters.

Currently reading – Paradise Lost, by John Milton. Milton (1608-1674) was an English poet. This epic poem about the Biblical Fall is considered one of the pillars of the “Western Canon.” This book also has a nice coffee stain on its bottom right. Must have used it as a coaster at some point.

Currently reading – The Mixquiahuala Letters, by Ana Castillo. Castillo is a Chicana novelist, poet, and short story writer born in 1953. This is an epistolary novel made up of correspondence between two women talking about their lives. Pictured next to my bookmark from my local indie bookstore, Changing Hands.
