Currently reading – The Iron Dragon’s Daughter, by Michael Swanwick. Swanwick is an American science fiction and fantasy writer who began publishing in the 80s. This novel is about a little girl who works in a factory producing iron dragons for war.

Currently reading – Cherry by Nico Walker. Born in 1985, Walker is a young American writer. This novel depicts a military veteran who becomes addicted to opioids and starts robbing banks to pay for his habit. It’s autobiographical – the author is currently in prison.

Currently reading – Every Fire You Tend, by Sema Kaygusuz. Born in 1972, Kaygusuz is a novelist and short story writer from Turkey. This novel is based on the brutal true story of Turkey’s 1938 extermination of a community of Kurds.

Currently reading – Derrida: A Very Short Introduction, by Simon Glendinning. Derrida was a French philosopher (1930-2004) known for his work in post-structuralism. (Note: As it turns out, I already read the book I last posted.

Currently reading – Solarvault: Stories of Solarpunk and a Eco-Speculation. “Solarpunk” is a hopeful, sometimes utopian science fiction genre depicting societies rising out of the ashes of climate catastrophe. It’s an interesting twist, so I’m checking it out.

Currently reading – White Dancing Elephants by Chaya Bhuvaneswar. Born in 1971, Bhuvaneswar is a short story writer and practicing physician. I read this book a couple years ago, but I’m haunted by some of the stories so I thought I’d read it again.
