Currently reading – Memories of My Melancholy Whores, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, translated by Edith Grossman. This slim book was the Nobel Prize winner’s last completed novel and published in 2004. I remember reading about it when it came out but it’s taken me this long to get to it.

Currently reading – Winter in the Blood, by James Welch. Born in 1940, Welch was a member of the Blackfeet tribe, and considered a founder of the Native American Renaissance in literature. He died in 2003.

Currently reading – Turing & Burroughs, by Rudy Rucker. Born in 1946, Rucker is an American mathematician and one of the lesser known cyberpunk writers of the 80s and 90s. These days he writes stuff that’s totally bonkers, like this book that imagines a hypothetical love affair between British codebreaker Alan Turing and Beat writer William S. Burroughs.
