Currently reading – The Dry Heart, by Natalia Ginzburg. Ginzburg was an Italian writer born in 1916, and her work often explores family relationships and fascism. She died in 1991.

Currently reading – Stoner by John Williams. Born in Texas in 1922, John Edward Williams is considered “a writers’ writer.” He died in 1994. This book is not about what it sounds like it’s about.

Currently reading – In the Dream House, by Carmen Maria Machado. Born in 1986, Machado is an American essayist, short story writer, and critic. This is an experimental memoir depicting an abusive lesbian relationship she had when she was younger.
