Living In Courage Daily

Living in courage daily

Involves approaching life with a mindset of strength, bravery, and determination. It means facing your fears, taking risks, and stepping out of your comfort zone in pursuit of your goals and aspirations. Living in courage means being willing to fail, and recognizing that failure is an inevitable part of growth and learning. It involves standing up for what you believe in, even when it’s unpopular or goes against the norm. Living in courage means being true to yourself, and not letting the opinions or judgments of others sway your decisions or actions. It is a way of living that is marked by resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to personal growth and development.

Courage can be a vital component in creating change in people’s lives. It takes courage to break away from old habits or patterns of behavior and to try new things. Courage is essential for taking risks and pursuing goals that may feel daunting or uncertain. Without courage, people may remain stuck in unfulfilling situations or miss out on opportunities for growth and development.

Inspiration for living in courage

Ultimately, courage can be a catalyst for personal and societal transformation, empowering individuals and communities to challenge the status quo, take action towards their goals, and create positive change in the world.

If you feel courageous but need support and inspiration, there are several things you can do:

Seek out a community: Connect with others who share your values, interests, or goals. Join a group or organization where you can find support and encouragement from like-minded individuals.Find a mentor: Look for someone who has experience in the areas you’re interested in and can offer guidance, advice, and support.Read inspiring stories: Read books or articles about people who have overcome adversity, achieved great things, or lived courageously. Their stories can offer inspiration and perspective.Practice self-care: Taking care of yourself physically and emotionally can help you maintain your courage and resilience. Make time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation, such as exercise, meditation, or spending time in nature.Set realistic goals: Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps that you can achieve. Celebrate your successes along the way and learn from any setbacks or challenges.

Remember, courage is not about doing everything on your own. Seeking support and inspiration from others can help you maintain your courage and resilience over the long term.

To summarize

Courage is the ability to face and overcome fear, adversity, or challenges with strength, bravery, and determination. It involves taking action in the face of difficulty, despite the risk or potential negative consequences. Courage requires a willingness to push beyond your comfort zone and to stand up for what you believe in. Ultimately, courage is about taking action in the face of fear, and finding the strength to keep going, even when things are tough. Adapting to the ongoing changes in these shifting times and taking a courageous stand for what we believe in is the most important action we can each take.

Integrity Is Integral To Being A Good Human

Ethics, honesty, integrity, respect - gears concept - 3D illustration

I think about integrity often

What is this quality, and why is it important? Integrity is a moral code you create with yourself. The foundation you build is how far it extends throughout your life.

In the movie Grosse Pointe Blank

Minnie Driver asks John Cusack how he could be a professional assassin. He told her that they discovered he had a certain degree of moral flexibility when he went into the military. That might work out fine for an assassin. For someone creating a life of substance through integrity, a certain ‘moral flexibility’ won’t fit the bill. Our morality is the lens that we see the world through. Based on a sound foundation of right and wrong, it’s easy to evaluate what’s out in the world and how we respond to it.

The biggest obstacle to increasing your self-awareness is the tendency to avoid the discomfort that comes from seeing yourself as you really are. – Travis Bradberry

Our lives are full of twists and turns

In each moment, there is the opportunity to make choices that align with integrity. Holding onto our self-respect allows us to sleep peacefully at night. Think of someone dishonest. They lie, try to cover their tracks, and play the blame and evasion game, along with other bullshit. Eventually, these things catch up with people. Add narcissism into the mix, and you put any foundation for a moral and ethical compass on a bed of sand. Undesirables, shifting with the winds of what they can get out of the situation, negating their ability to carve a healthy, meaningful path in life. Narcissists are bullies and usually highly charming. They will appear to have integrity but abandon it when it does not serve them or their intended purpose for a desired outcome.

Play the long game

I don’t see people without integrity as having a solid sense of self. At their core, they are insecure, even though they seem to exude a level of confidence we would expect with someone of integrity. Taking responsibility for all our actions is not easy, but we must. You will see many you know drop off along the way when you play the long game. This quote is by G. Michael Hopf, “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.” Cowards, to the depths of their souls, are not courageous.

In my Farnam Street /Brain Food E-mail I read this. FS is about timeless ideas and insights for life.

Things you control:

Your effort.

Your beliefs.

Your actions.

Your attitude.

Your integrity.

Your thoughts.

The food you eat.

How kind you are.

How reflective you are.

How thoughtful you are.

The type of friend you are.

The information  you consume.

The people you surround yourself with.

Where Do We Go From Here?

If you are alive and breathing, you have noticed a world divided.

Where do we go from here? I highly recommend doing your own research. Search for truth, I cannot emphasize this enough. What are you are being told to believe or passively accepting as truth? This year, things are going to be revealed that will rock all our worlds. I have often written about the importance of adaptability, being able to adapt to change quickly. I bring this up because of recent events occurring around the world. We don’t know when or where the next disaster could strike. Many people ask, “What can I do, I’m just one person. How can I possibly make a difference in the midst of chaos and confusion.”

You are one very important person, as am I

My first and most important suggestion – do not go into fear. Keep a clear calm head about you as you go about your day. Be resilient and supportive of others, as they are going to need you. When we remain calm, fearless, armed with knowledge and wisdom, we become a beacon of light for others. Trust me, many will need your light. There is too much darkness worldwide rearing it’s ugly head. I also suggest remaining vigilant, understanding what is playing out in the outer world must occur for massive shift to take place for all of us. What goes on in our inner world is just as important.

My message is – buckle up buttercup, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

In many of my previous articles and in my monthly Living in Courage Newsletter/Ezine, I have encouraged people to courageously wake up. As much as we want our lives to remain status quo, they are going to change, and quickly. Just this year, we are witnessing even more escalating challenges in all areas of life. The pain and suffering globally is palpable, and that’s just what we see on the surface. There are many layers we don’t see and may not want to acknowledge. All the same, it’s time to open our eyes and see the things that make us squirm uncomfortably. There will come a day when you will have to face the boogeyman that is actually there.

What Is Truth & Why Does It Matter?

?

Think about truth and it’s implications

What does truth mean to you? A hot topic of discussion in its own right for thousands of years. Unwavering beliefs have a strong hold over people. Your truth and my truth may vary greatly, depending on the subject. Here is one conclusion I believe in. Truth is powerful and cannot be extinguished. Investigate, question everything, using truth as you understand it to support your position, knowing both sides of the story. Live your truth, even if it means standing alone. If you are proved to be correct, people may come to you at some point for a conversation on the clarity of your knowing.

Truth is resilient and always wins in the end…

If we give it enough time and space to reveal itself. Dishonesty requires fuel to survive and thrive. Truth can be hidden or diminished, but when true disclosure is presented, truth is ready to spark to life. This can happen quickly, or take lifetimes. It feels like we are in the midst of some great revealing now that could change the course of history.

An impatient lot are we, wanting everything to go faster since the inundation into the digital world. Information at our fingertips with instantaneous results. Depending on your perspective, a blessing or a curse. Perhaps we would be much better served developing resilience. Living courageously through right action, trusting our inner knowing, all the while watching the movie as it unfolds.

Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. – Thoreau

Patience my friend

At this time in the world, patience truly is a much needed virtue. I recently read, the truth is a lion that does not need defending. Lions are courageous and patient. The saying goes, “The truth is like a lion. It doesn’t need to be protected; just let it loose and it will protect itself.”

I am not a fan of lying, on any level. Have I told a lie? Yes, we all have. What did we learn from the experience? A question we would be wise to ask ourselves. Humans can be manipulated into believing what they are told. We are often taught from birth to adulthood to believe a great many things. Again, question EVERYTHING. At some point it’s up to us to decide our truth, to decide what we stand for and why.

Opinions and beliefs gain a strong hold over us. Truth telling can wake people up, or irritate the shit out of them. They may not believe you are sharing anything of value, can consider you too full of yourself, or that you are an idiot too concerned with non-concerning matters. Many truth tellers have been ostracized throughout their lives, even to the point of feeling they live in a world apart from the ‘normal’ crowd – whatever that is. Long after they exit this physical plane we often learn they were right after all. I call this courage, discernment, right action and mastery of self.

How much do you trust in questionable narratives?

What if a belief or opinion works for me but not for you? Does this make one of us wrong and the other right? Not when we understand that truth has been tampered with. For example – some say we went to the moon, others say it is a complete and utter lie. The world is round, the world is flat. The pope is holy and saintly, he’s bad and evil. Politics – no need to explain here! We are told certain foods are healthy, others say those same foods will kill us. God has a different meaning/text depending on culture, environment, and what we were taught to believe. People hold strongly to their opinions, loving to defend them. Becoming a truth seeker is fascinating. The knowledge gained brings important inner and outer shifts into our lives. How much do you trust in questionable narratives?

How can we embrace truth?

Verification, inquiry, theory, concept – true or false? Self deception can be hard to distinguish from inner and outer truths. We can ask ourselves, “Is this all about me, or am I considering the good of others and their welfare. If people disagree with me, how does this make me feel? Do I feel diminished, or empowered by embracing my truth? How do I react, and what does this tell me about my character? Am I coming from a place of love or fear?” Embrace it all, engaging in self examination without judgement. The more we know about ourselves, the better we can navigate the waters of life.

Find out what matters to you, your truth, your purpose, because your life matters. They say, “The truth will set you free.”

The Great Unraveling

Two hands pulling circles of string from a mans mind to unravel the mind of old ideas and concepts introduced to us since birth. I read this statement recently, “Never take advice from someone you wouldn’t trade places with.”

Who do we trust, and why? I started thinking about who I trust. I don’t trust government. Why lie to the masses, hide and alter vitally important information? Why deceive good people like you, people like me? The more I see going on in the outer world, I find less to trust in out there. How about you? There are major shifts coming for all of us. This isn’t about you, or me, it’s about everyone…everywhere. Everything connects eventually, and now we are seeing what I call The Great Unraveling.

There are people I trust, but would not want to trade places with…

People I admire and respect are those who have made the important decision to delve throughout history in order to connect the dots. These dots can re-educate us as to what is happening now, in these present moments, and why. Being skeptical by nature, certain topics fascinate me. Since I have been young, there turned out to be things in the outer world that did not add up – at least in my mind. When questioned, the answers were hard to find. I’m asking similar questions again and much to my delight uncovering answers that are beginning to make sense. What I have discovered over my course of investigation is this – we each need to do our own research, peeling the layers of the onion back slowly so we don’t burn our eyes. What drives you to ask life’s most important questions, and why are the answers relevant to you?

It seems the more I know, the less I know of what I thought to be true…

Whatever true actually means. I love life, but I do not love what has been done to the lives of people everywhere on this planet Earth. By embracing my curiosity and choosing not to live in fear, the more I learn, the more curious I get. What has not been shown compared to what has been hidden is fascinating – this resonates with my soul. The programming in this world does not resonate with me. The movie we live in has been well written, edited, directed and produced. If you reach deep into your heart, you will know this to be true. People are waking up to the fact that things are not as they should be.

We are here to…

Thrive, assist each other with kindness and love, to live a healthy, vital, and energetic life. We are here to create, to encourage, to engage in activities that support all life. These qualities of life have been taken away from people around the world, and we are looking at a similar outcome if we don’t wake the fuck up – and soon! What affects one, affects all. Not a fan of being lied to, or that we have all been lied to. I will not go into my eye opening education over the years. For now, it’s time for all of us to look at our world, our life, which – in case you haven’t been paying attention, is about to change dramatically.

When summer rolls around we will be having a different conversation. If only a few of you reading this get the message, I will be thrilled. Most people are busy staying distracted by the distractions, and not ready or willing to see what is going on behind the scenes. I’m not talking about what traditional news media is feeding us, I’m talking about what they are not telling us. Peel back a layer of an onion and you will begin to open your eyes, and trust me, they will water, and tears will flow.

It’s a New Year and it’s up to us to make a difference in this life we chose to participate in. 2023 is not going to be an easy year for most people. I have done my homework and will tell you this – prepare yourself for whatever you need to take care of yourself and your family. Living in Courage from the core of your heart will be your constant companion in the coming year, and I will be here to cheer you on.

Your Energy Is Your Fingerprint

Everything is energy

Your energy is your fingerprint, your energetic signature if you will. Do you ever wonder if everything we think, say and do is a recording of our individual signatures? I like to think there is much more to this life on earth than what we can ever imagine in our wildest dreams. We are a blip on the map, as are those that have gone before us. Past and present we use energy as a basic need in many forms.

What exactly is energy?

In science, energy is the ability to do work or heat objects. It is a scalar physical quantity, which means it has magnitude, but no direction. Energy is conserved, which means it can change from one form to another, but isn’t created or destroyed.

In physics, energy is the ability or capacity to perform work. But in Physics energy is a property of an object which can be transferred to other objects or converted into different forms. It is not possible to give a general description of energy because of its different forms.

Personal energy refers collectively to those parts of you that are subtle and non-physical, such as your sense of aliveness, feelings and emotions, thoughts, memories, conscience and beliefs. You can’t see any of these things, yet you know they exist and are vital to your sense of self.

This list could go on and on as there are many forms of energy and abundant descriptions. For this article we are talking about personal energy, which defines us, just as our fingerprint is unique to each of us. The more aware we are of our personal energy, we can better manage ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We are in the habit of managing many areas of our lives, yet how often do we manage the very core of who and what we are?

We are in an epidemic of busyness

Some throw themselves into the fray, others retreat or may even withdraw. This busy syndrome can be overwhelming when everything is at our fingertips at a moments notice. Eye candy and distraction fills the world, not always a good thing.

There are cycles in life for rest, work and play. I think you will agree, most of us look forward to our weekends. Balance is a key component in energy management. Many people, of which I am one, have tried to keep up in real life and online. I’ve taken a step away from social media, and it’s wondrous. Don’t get me wrong, I have met lovely people online over the years – many who have become great friends. I enjoy keeping up with these folks, but feel no undue pressure to keep up like I used to. Now that social media has been around so long, I think many people feel the same. I can’t tell you the sense of freedom I feel.

Life is an ongoing journey

Staying happy, healthy, creative and productive is where I direct my energy. Many of us look back in our lives and realize the things we loved and were most passionate about is exactly where our energetic path was trying to lead us. Busyness can cloud our field of clarity. Focused intention and purpose, guide and direct us in our creative endeavors. This is invaluable.

Live In Courage As Never Before

Female eye close up with smart contact lens with digital and biometric implants to scanning the ocular retina. Future concept and hi tech technology for scans to face eye identification

Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. – Helen Keller

We tend to fear the unknown

Where does living in courage come in? Our aim in life is happiness, don’t you agree? This is where courage takes center stage. If we live in a state of fear, our happiness is stolen moment by moment. Love can tend to be a many layered conundrum. I quote Olga Jacoby , author of Words of Pain: Letters On Life And Death. Written in a letter she inscribed in the early 1900’s, “Love, like strength and courage, is a strange thing; the more we give the more we find we have to give. Once given out, love is set rolling for ever to amass more, resembling an avalanche by the irresistible force with which it sweeps aside all obstacles, but utterly unlike in its effect, for it brings happiness wherever it passes and lands destruction nowhere.”

The reason I share this beautiful statement is that love does not seem to be permeating our world

In contrast, I see destruction, anger, revenge, fear, manipulation and the like in every corner I look and listen. In our communities and out into the world at large, we need more love, right action, courage and the ability to stand up for what our heart tells us is right and true.  What I ask myself is, “What are people’s hearts telling them, and why so many sleeping numbed hearts? This is a period in time that our lives depend on educating ourselves as to how we came to be in this state of separation and despair.

Opening our eyes

Now is not the time to live on autopilot, to numb ourselves from unknown outcomes we fear for ourselves and others. It is time for action – blind yourself to nothing. What action you take, well, that’s what lives in your heart. Listen closely and although you may be comfortable in your cozy world, perhaps it is time to look deeper into your reality. It’s when we become uncomfortable enough to open our eyes to the things we do not wish to see or hear, that is when our heart begins to speak. This I know to be true, and if you are honest with yourself, you know it too.

Perhaps what you feel, hear or intuit is barely discernible. As you continue to tune in, you will gain momentum, discovering symphonies of inspired thoughts and feelings to guide and direct you. Make ample use of every power that has been given you, to use for the good end. I quote Oscar Wilde, “Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.”

Our world is at a crossroads such as we have never before seen

Our entire planet is in upheaval and this affects everyone, everywhere. Please keep an open mind and trust that there is much ‘revealing’ coming for all of us. Although most people are not ready for what will be revealed, learn to listen to your heart and trust yourself to live in courage as never before.

On The Precipice

We are no closer to peace than we have ever been

Cycles flow through every age in time, and there is an equilibrium that has been lost, hijacked and hopelessly out of the hands of the many, and remains (quite precariously) in the hands of the few. You couldn’t write a more bizarre script, but it has been written and we are on the precipice because we believed the narrative. Those who wrote, continue to write, and edit the story have kept humanity separate, fearful, frustrated and at each others throats. For this, they are facing a smack down of unequaled proportions. As a result, humanity will be affected in a variety of ways. Revelations are coming to light daily, and as they do, the stories will reach a fever pitch. We see it in and around the world, in private conversations, on a variety of news and media sources. Oh, and pretty much everywhere you look.

What’s the solution to this unending conundrum?

Everyone seems to have an answer, just as every generation before us. From my vantage point, pretty much the same old story playing out. Look where it’s gotten us, and it’s cost. If I could push a magic button, voila, we wake up to an important mission to participate in, one that will lead to peace and justice. Although it makes me a bit sad, it also strengthens my resolve. I feel a strength, a power that is unshakable, incorruptible and ready for whatever comes next. I will stand in my courageous power, as an anchor for good, for integrity, for peace. There are things we can’t change that end up changing us. Yet, there is much we can change…we need all hands on deck! Let’s be responsible stewards of this life on Earth. We have a powerful voice when we step off the precipice and come together in unity.

Here are a few tips to bring more peace into your lifeBe Kind.Pave your own road. It’s up to you weather it’s smooth or full of potholes. Put a few speed bumps in so you slow down when needed.Times of stress can be signals for growth, you can grow through adversity. If you don’t get uncomfortable, you will never grow.Be accountable for your choices. Make ‘conscious choices’ that support your life and those of this planet.Do your best not to bully or get triggered from opposing viewpoints.Take the time to respond versus react, which helps you expand rather than contract.Respect yourself and others will respect you. Set boundaries when and where they are needed.Be of service with no expectations, forge new relationships, be a good listener and embrace an attitude of gratitude.Show integrity in all you say and do. If you promise something – deliver. Don’t justify the means for the end. In other words, keep your agreements.Don’t try to force people to see things your way.If you want to change your life and make a difference in the world, lead by example.Take your power back from wherever you have left it.Do not be swayed by the family of FEAR which is False Evidence Appearing Real.Have the courage to broaden your perspective.Embrace the present moment. NOW = your Naturally Occurring Wonder.Remember you are the writer, director, editor, producer and STAR of the movie of your life. Make your life movie one you are proud to share with the world.

The Simple Step Of A Courageous Individual

I recently read an article in our local paper

I quote from this article, “There was a quote by Solzhenitsyn when he won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The judges noted “the ethical force” unleashed by his writing.” The article goes on to say that in his Nobel Lecture Solzhenitsyn closed with a Russian proverb, “One word of truth shall outweigh the whole world.” He followed this in the Gulag Archipelago with a profound invitation: “The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie.”

My platform is Living in Courage

I write about courage, so this article set my mind in motion. What does society believe to be true, even if unproven or possibly untrue? Where does truth come from? Out of all the data that has come to us since birth, our minds decide what we consciously choose to believe. If you talk to 100 different people, you will find their personal version of who and what God is, to be greatly varied. Their chosen God or Higher Source is truth to these individuals.

I started thinking about things we were told to believe, and how these ‘truths’ have changed over the years. From supposed experts who influence us about raising children, what and how we eat, the rules of fitness and exercise, what to read, watch or listen to, religious beliefs, government parties at opposition (who really controls them?) and changing science, etc. There are people spouting truth as they believe it to be – for now. As we have seen, these things change from generation to generation.

Dig deep

It’s time to dig deep inside with all the courage in our souls and wake up from the complex and confusing expletives in the outer world. Your inner world and how you conduct yourself is what matters most. I have never had any tolerance for those who lie. I see our world in the throes of chaos because of lies and deception. Cowards are not courageous. It has taken far far too long, but those who are trying to destroy the fabric of life will be exposed. Now is a pivotal time in our world and a long time coming. I’m not sure the truth will be well met for many. Fascinating times we are witnessing, don’t you agree?

You think things have been crazy?

I say buckle up for a very bumpy ride and hold on tight. Most importantly – stay courageous my friends.

7 Ways To Connect To Your Inner Strength & Resilience

“At some point we become wise enough to see the limiting walls we have built around ourselves. Taking action to release all that does not serve our life takes courage and inner strength. These walls of resistance are sometimes invisible, even to our own eyes. It’s easy to look at another persons life and see why things are not working out for them; yet, when we look at ourselves, we often miss what limits us.”

– Debra Oakland

What is the Number One Thing You Struggle With When Connecting to Your Inner Strength & Resilience?

The two qualities of inner strength and resilience are important for more reasons than I can list. Crisis, disease and trauma can tear us apart, or give us strength we didn’t know we were capable of. Adaptability, resiliency and flexibility make us stronger. Each time we struggle through a rough patch, we can consciously choose our inner wisdom to learn the lesson there for us. I have learned that challenging life experiences can provides us with indispensable tools to assist us in living our lives more courageously. Our personalities and life experiences contribute to outcomes, as well as our tenacity for overcoming odds.

Deferring to the Authority or Opinion of Others

Deferring to the opinions and authority of others works if those influences have your highest good in mind. Also, do they have the required knowledge and wisdom to make their counsel worth the value placed upon it. Trust is fundamental to life and hard to restore once it’s been broken. There is great value to be found in trust, a quality many find in short supply these days.

Insecurity – Self Sabotage – Not Deserving

Not feeling in control of your life? Much of this comes from childhood. Hurtful words coming from those meant to build you up – parents, clergy, coaches, teachers, etc. If the positive support is not there early on, there is often times a void that can only be filled by recognizing the habits and patterns formed and making the required changes. There are excellent therapists available for those in need.

Stubbornness – High Defenses

As we are well aware, these two aspects can be crippling for self evolution and expression. You have high defenses because of being hurt in love, finances, you name it. When an opportunity arises that fits into those situations, the alarms go off and our old friend stubborn shows up. We are not going to get hurt again so we dig in our heals, shut down and protect ourselves. Now, if we took the time to heal those nasty old boo boos and traumas, we could open to similar experiences with a new perspective and have a totally different outcome. Life is tricky, paved with some rough patches, but learning to govern ourselves makes for a smoother path ahead.

Lack of Information

Making pivotal life decisions when you don’t have all the facts can be a risky bet. Too often we go into major life decisions half cocked and suffer the consequences. Before going into any major decision, take the time to view the facts from multiple perspectives.

Facing an Unexpected Obstacle

This skill in these times is a high priority. We must be nimble and able to change coarse based on a changing environment. If we remain on a fixed trajectory, think Titanic, we could well crash when it could have been easily avoided with a slight correction. Be the jet ski – not the air craft carrier.

Anger as a Defense Mechanism

It is said that all human emotions come from one of two places, love and fear. Anger lives in the house of fear, and it’s family make for lousy roommates. Find coping/healing practices that bring you to a more self forgiving, loving, and healing posture. This will shift how you navigate challenges and hurdles in yourself as well as in the world around you. Look for channels and outlets that can provide the support needed to move through self imposed barriers. Ask for help – we all need it from time to time.

Not Ready to Take Responsibility

This one can be based simply in fear, past experience or no experience at all. Fear – be honest enough to identify the reasons and make the appropriate changes. Past Experience – you can probably add a nice helping of apprehension to go with it. Lack of Experience – find a trusted source to learn the required information to take on some/more responsibility. Taking on new challenges is always a little scary, I don’t care who you are, but with the right information and identifying what makes you afraid, you can turn that looming monster in the shadows into a manageable gremlin.

Think of These 7 Sections as a”Mix and Match” of What You Are Struggling With

What steps can be taken to get you to your best destination? We all struggle with some of these. Some more than others. If we pay attention and face them straight on, you place yourself in a position of authority over conditions that you may have thought were beyond your control. In this moment you may not perceive yourself to be a bad ass warrior navigating life on your terms, but the opportunity is yours for the taking.
