Trust...

Trust is sometimes overrated.
Other times, it's out of stock.

Politicians...

Politicians are exceptionally skilled at rooting out deception in people. It is why most of us vote them into office to protect us from local and global lies and tricks that could harm our land or nation. But then, the grand irony plays out.

Good...

Doing something good for yourself often includes doing something for good for someone else.

Snakes & People...

A drunk patron at the bar suddenly raised his voice in the middle of a conversation and said, "Ugh, I hate snakes! Tell me one good thing about those disgusting creatures."

"Unlike some people, snakes don't go seeking violence. In fact, they go out of their way to avoid it," said the barkeep as he finished pouring someone a beer. "I wouldn't go so far as to call them pacifists. But they hunt what they need to survive, and defend themselves if threatened. People, on the other hand…" The barkeep paused and gave a long sigh. "People invade, they abuse, they cheat, lie, and deceive, they take what is not theirs, and consume more than is good for them." He looked up from cleaning a whiskey glass and stared into the confused eyes of the drunk man. "You want a refill?" he enquired.

The drunk man shook his head, left his seat, and staggered out the door.

11 Brilliant Batman Lessons

11. Always put people first, especially the innocent.

10. Accepting your demons makes them strengths not liabilities.

9. Even the worst among us has a chance at redemption.

8. You can only fight the dark side of people, but not destroy it altogether.

7. Seek the truth as it is, not as people say it should be.

6. Do the right thing especially because it isn't easy.

5. If you are rich enough to make a positive difference, do it.

4. Always have a plan-B, even if plan-A is guaranteed to succeed.

3. No matter how good or pure someone's intentions are, someone else with ill intentions can misuse them.

2. With the right tools, principles, and people, a mortal man can be a superhero.

1. Your actions define you, not your secrets.

Happy Batman Day.

Tiger Safari...

An idiot goes on a safari. They spot a Tiger coming out of the thicket. Tapping the driver on the shoulder, they say, " You call this a big-cat safari? That Tiger is so small."

The driver turns his head, raises his eyebrows, and says, "You don't want it getting any bigger, trust me."

The idiot persists. "Oh look, it has cubs. Must be a mother-tiger, they're harmless. Let's get closer."

The driver replies, "A Tigress with cubs is more dangerous than a snake in the grass." He turns to look at the idiot. "As dangerous as people with a death wish."

"Hey, what am I getting for the money I paid?" asked the idiot.

"An education," said the driver.

Kollywood...

Hollywood is known for remaking various stories, and even green-lighting biopics based on famous non-American people. Why not Tamil movies start doing something similar but entirely in the Tamizh language? Why not take stories like "Aladdin" and remake it right here, completely in Tamil? We can remain true to the story's traditional roots as well as its portrayals by Disney and still give the world a 'Kollywood twist'. Whatever comes, I better get the call to play Jafar or foul sorcery will afflict the entire production.

Project "Live Or Drown"

So, Greater Chennai Corporation’s Climate Change Action Plan has finally seen fit to declare that 16% Of Chennai Will Be Under Water By 2100. I'm sure they have admirable plans in place, but will anyone finally listen to my ideas of using the vast ocean-space itself to build a combination of free-floating cities, underwater ones, and everything in between? And large-scale seaweed farms, which have proven to soak up atmospheric carbon? And floating roads (which have already been done and tested), and aquatic electric vehicles for transportation? Taking up ocean space won't infringe on national territories – we'd only be expanding not invading. Given the Climate Emergency, it is the only real way to keep lakhs of people from suffering by century's end, and at the same time setting new global benchmarks. By the time the waters rise – and they will rise – we'll have two slices of the same city, Chennai Metropolis and Chennai Aquapolis. Mass transition and mass adaptation are smarter and more humane than mass displacement and mass migration. Don’t look at me like that, I didn’t start the fire!
[goes back to gaming, reading, writing, watching stuff, and generally being ignored].
