Climate Change Humour, Or Not...

What did one Chennaiite say to the other at the start of the monsoon season?

“Today it's umbrellas…"
“Tomorrow it's boats."

A pregnant pause later,
“You meant coats, right?"
“Nope."

Truth & Resistance...

A mother walks into a room and enters into an argument with her child. It includes the usual globally-recognizable guilt-you-till-you-submit words, “I am your mother, I birthed you into this world, you owe me…" yada yada.

The child, feeling as serious as the world has shaped them to be, replied, “I should be grateful to have entered this world? A world where the wings of dreams lie broken and scattered while lies soar freely above us? A world where corruption and money determine a person's rise and worth more than their nature as people, as human beings? A world where no child asks to come here, or knows beforehand what they are going to experience based on the Karma of their past lives, but they are forced to enter anyway? A world where people in power continuously choose to kill the world instead of heal it? A world where the number of orphans is growing as steadily as the over-population count? Oh goody, mother, thank you for bringing me into this resort destination planet, I'm gushing with joy."

The child, after having delivered their heartfelt and overly sarcastic speech, suddenly had to quit the room because they spotted their mother coming at them with a slipper in one hand and an expression that promised to send the child off swiftly into their next life.

Lifetimes...

People say, "You have just one life, live it well… We get one life, let's live it…" and so on. But the idea of Reincarnation is more branched out than that. The actual understanding is that of all the lifetimes our soul has completed up to now, and the lifetimes it is yet to experience, we are each going to experience the self we are right now only in this lifetime. Before this life and after this life, you have and will experience existence in entirely different identities and bodies.
No two lifetimes are ever the same.

Gods & Devils...

The reason why a god is always considered victorious over a devil in almost all known civilizations and cultures is because… A deity creates beautiful order way before any human possibly can, but humans commit atrocities faster than a devil can even think it all up. Goes to show that to create something meaningful is divine, but to corrupt it is human.

Hogwarts Food...

Just gazing at the drool-icious spread of foods and beverages they serve at Hogwarts makes me wonder… Do magic-users burn more calories than normal people? Does the very flow of magic through their uniquely wired systems make it necessary for students and teachers alike (and others outside Hogwarts) to consume more food and drink to fuel their special talents? Even considering plus-size students, the food spreads at Hogwarts seem overdone. Must be a purpose behind it.

Then there's the fact that magical creatures like House-Elves are the ones preparing all those fancy-schmancy meals at the renowned School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Does it require magical creatures to make them for some reason? Are they imbuing the food with something 'extra' that ensures each child gets their daily 'magical nutrition' needs met?

Memo to me: ask Hermione Granger. And do not send that god-awful owl Herbert, worst courier delivery choice in magical history. Remember, it delivered your love-letter to the recipient's father and now you're getting death threats. Another memo to me: do not "Avada Kedavra" the father.

Speech Or Silence...

An unknown devotee approached a wise one "Why does life have to be so complicated? Why aren't enough of us fighting back against injustice?" they asked.

The wise one gave a long pause and replied, "One of Life's great conundrums… Say nothing at all and remain silent, or openly speak your mind. However, by openly speaking your mind, several others are either cornered, exposed, or hurt. Then again, by keeping completely silent, the speaker is hurt, and no great change or awareness is sparked off in society. What do you do? Rather, what is the right thing to do? In a situation where someone or something is going to be hurt or exposed anyway, regardless, no matter what… Is silence wiser than speech? And which is the lesser evil?"

Bad news is the wise one is still searching for an answer. Good news is they now have an assistant.

Food Order Woes...

Am I the only one who tracks a food delivery executive's movements on that tiny gps map they display after ordering? Also, am I the only one who tries to psychically encourage them NOT to take that turn, which is a longer route and will therefore delay the order? And, when they do take that dratted turn, am I the only one to shout or yell like I'm watching a major match and my team lost? Nevermind, carry on.

Problem Child...

Does your child drive you insane by crying and/or screaming at the top of their voice? I may have a solution for you! Record their bawling and playback the tantrum at the same volume, and put it on loop. Make sure the child is present in the room when you hit play on their glorious caterwauling. If this does not solve the problem, well, good energies and good luck.

Inspiration Source: a neighbor who shall not be named. Even if I were to name them, you can't hear my voice over the high-pitched wailing of their 'demonic overlord' child.
