May 28th -- Thursday -- it's going to be an awesome day. Brain is rumbling with wild new ideas for Showtime (working title), so I can't wait to hit my computer and let 'er rip. (My "writing" computer isn't connected to the internet -- not taking any chances).

Everybody on board with J.T. Ellison's new WHAT LIES BEHIND? You would not believe the fantastic reviews the book is getting --I

You all read the first chapter of NEMESIS -- I'll tell you I was holding my breath during that scene -- Chapter Two is up in a couple of weeks -- You're calling me a tease -- ain't that the truth, and actually, it is called a Teaser in the business -- Now, only thing, I'm thinking of hopping to a different chapter --- hmmm, have to think about that, maybe to Savich, and he's in a gnarly mess, let me tell you.

27th May -- my South Pacific song -- Nothing like a Dam (well, that should be Dame, but if you want to let out a dam, that's okay too) Now that I've addressed my slip from spastic finger seizures, let me thank you for the good "theme" ideas, thank you -- I really like the one about coming as the person you'd most want to have dinner with -- living or dead -- Hmmm --
The only thing about a theme -- it's 90 degrees at the OBX and with 30 people in the space, the air conditioner just can't compete, so the costume can't be too involved or too hot!
Lots of you have J.T.'s book -- have a blast. Those of you who haven't umpped yourself yet, it's time --
I'm writing the outline for the FBI thriller for 2016 -- Yipes! Given the galloping pace of time, it's soon going to be the next millennium. Now, as for titles, I'm thinking so far: SHOWDOWN, HEARTBEAT -- any suggestions? We've got Hollywood in this one.

26th of May, Super Tuesday -- super, why? Well, HUGE BIG WONDERFUL ANNOUNCEMENT: J.T. Ellison's new novel WHAT LIES BEHIND is out today! If you didn't pre-order it, then get yourself to the bookstore or get on your iPad store or whatever e-reader you have and order it up and dive right in. I want all of you to believe that mom (I'm mom) knows best in this instance what you'll like to read -- Trust me. This is a Dr. Sam Owens thriller -- and is she ever up to her neck in alligators -- Let J.T. know what you think --
Counting down to the OBX: Every year on Thursday evening, we have a "theme" night. This year, it's your favorite musical. My other half and I are doing South Pacific -- six snippets of songs, hamming it up, in costume (navy, me in a blond wig) -- lots of fun acting like idiots. I can't wait to see what everyone will do. Do you have a recommendation for "theme" night for next year? I'm fresh out of ideas -- We've done favorite TV characters, favorite cartoon characters --

Another glorious Friday, the 22nd of May --
First thing: I was told if you order your books through Amazon, then go to SmileAmazon.com to purchase them -- they do an automatic donation to your charity, so check it out.

Now, the link to the Goodreads giveaway: I'll have them post it again, so stay tuned. One of you wrote that you had to fill out lots of information that resulted in tons of emails pushing other authors. What are your thoughts on this?

The new Mad Max remake -- who's seen the movie? It's gotten good review, but I trust you guys -- so what do you think?

Hard to believe, hard to accept -- it's the 20th of May. This special month is no longer a teenager and that's big psychologically (at least for me) To me, it means I'm not going as fast as I should be on the next FBI and that gives me a zing -- What kind of zing? Hmm, well, it isn't a fun zing.

I've got to tell you -- most of the posts you send about bad weather are from Minnesota -- what's going on up there? Are you being punished for some reason I don't know about?

A reader told me Nemesis was on the Amazon Summer Blockbuster list -- now I've got to go see what this is all about. Did any of you see this? Did any of you care if you did indeed see it?
I'm read only one review for Nemesis so far from Kirkus. They usually savage books -- it's their trademark -- I mean, lots of cutting comments, left-handed compliments out the kazoo, and naturally, they're not signed by the reviewer. Well, they liked Nemesis, I guess, but hard to tell since 95% of the review was a simply synopsis of the book -- I'll keep you posted as more come in. My editor knows NEVER to send a bad review. I mean, why would you? To make the author's day? To make her feel over the moon and ready to dance and shout?

May 14, 2015

Thursday, May 14th -- Guess what happened? I wrote a post yesterday morning, as usual, pressed Post and it disappeared. I thought, well, I hit a hinky button and did it again -- whoosh, it's gone. Then I do a test yesterday afternoon, and whoosh -- then J.T. said, sign out and sign in again -- and voila, it worked!

Working on the 20th FBI for next summer -- yes, yes, if you're a writer, you're always focused on the future -- it's difficult to focus on the present, and somewhat disconcerting. Anyway, in this one, I finally admitted that I'd "wedded" myself to an opening that simply wasn't going to work, so with profound regrets, I hit the delete button and now things are dashing forward. The main FBI character (other than S&S) is Cammie Wittier, the daughter of two character actors who live in Malibu, in the Colony, and we have murders and she's sent out -- there will be all sorts of wormy stuff happening, layers (like an onion) to peel away to come to the motive and the truth --

Dr. Michael Palmer's final medical thriller (written with his son, Daniel), is out TODAY. Michael was a very fine person, a very fine writer and I miss him. The thriller is titled: TRAUMA -- do enjoy it.
Novella -- The Strange Visitation at Wolffe Hall (Historical romance with Grayson Sherbrooke) Is going in today -- a couple of weeks, I'm told, and it'll be up.
And don't forget -- everyone you love in your life -- tell them every single day you love them, give them a hug every single day, or if they're not near, give them a call and a long-distance hug -- the words are the same, and that's good --

It's Friday, the 24th -- another amazingly gorgeous day here, but still no rain -- The cats love their walkabouts when it's beautiful like this -- actually, that's a lie, they love walkabouts all the time, well, except if it's really pouring, which nearly never happens here, alas.

Nemesis went off yesterday -- So many pages with problems. I hope the "cold" reader catches more since I am not a professional proof reader -- It's really exciting -- sorry, I already told you that, but you can believe it. (Visit my web site if you want to read the teaser (CatherineCoulter.com)-- it will be up very soon.

April 23rdl, another perfect day in my desert paradise -- it's High Cholesterol Factory with friends today -- big yea -- and that means the avocado egg rolls, probably the hamburger sliders with tons of dill pickles and, last but not least, 3 smallish bites of the cheesecake of the day -- yes, we all get three bites off of one slice, whipped cream on the side if you want to stick your face in it and roll around --

Now, several of you made great suggestions that simply hadn't come into my brain. 1) If you can't afford the gym/pilates/yoga -- do a barter -- like cooking for yoga -- great idea, or say sewing for pilates, or bookkeeping/typing/organizing/cleaning for training, whatever, and 2) Get some exercise DVDs (appropriate to your level of fitness/health/activity -- but STRETCH if you can -- and do them everyday -- Thank you, very good suggestions.
God bless editors, particularly my editor. With her guidance, the "focus" problems in The End Game are resolved and now it's a matter of fine-tuning, sharpening, adding a bit here and there. Big huge yea. I am very pleased and relieved and have until May 13th to get the book all polished up and completely on the right track. Finishing galleys on NEMESIS -- this is really a good book, high, high suspense --

Tuesday, the 21st -- It occurred to me that any of you with physical problems, no trainer at the gym, nope, get a physical therapist, have him/her show you what you can do. They always have small gyms -- so go, do what you can.

Now, how many of you over 55 haven't yet had a colonoscopy? If colon cancer is in your family, you know, of course, to begin at 35 -- but none in your family, then a screening colonoscopy at 55 -- Listen to me now -- this is the only cancer you can prevent, the only one. (Well, that's not really true -- DON'T SMOKE --) family member died of colon cancer and I can tell you, it's not good. So, please, have that colonoscopy -- schedule it today for as soon as you can get in. You don't know who to go to? Ask your friends, your doctor -- (They give you versed so you don't remember a thing.) Who hasn't yet got their shingles shot? DO IT --
Okay, enough preaching. Those of you who have been to London, (or outside of London), tell me Your Very Favorite Place to Visit. Who's eaten at the Texas Embassy just off Trafalgar Square? Any show recommendations are also welcome.
