Running around like a fool today, getting ready to head out at 5:00 a.m. manana -- oh joy. But at the end of the line are my three writer friends --

Now, Week #1 Football Picks: (Since I'm out of town, let's do it now)
l) Patriots beat the Steelers
2) 49ers beat the Vikings
3)Giants beat the Cowboys
4) Rams beat the Seahawks (Yes, this is my upset)
Now, remember, you replace ONE of my picks with your own team, okay? Get out your Football Dedicated Notebook and write down your picks.
Today, it's blistering here in Sausalito -- how can something like that happen? I don't know, but the Arizona summer gods are visiting and evidently loathe to let go, that, or someone here really pissed them off. Naturally, there's very little AC since, big sigh, we usually don't need it

Sep. 3, 2015

Good morning, it's a brave new month -- big gorgeous September, filled with Tennessee, London, Florida -- and small breathers in between, so I'm good to go --
I've got a male-type birthday coming up. The bad thing is he has everything. The good thing is he's always polite, no matter the present. Any suggestions?

Wednesday, 2nd of September: Pierre Menard is FedPol -- who knows what FedPol is? What they do? MI5 is England's FBI. MI6 is England's CIA.

Please don't forget: If you want to send me a private message, don't use the message board here on Facebook. Why? Because I don't ever look at it. So, please send any private missives to ReadMoi@gmail.com -- I always answer those emails every single day.

The twist to Insidious I mentioned yesterday? I don't think it's going to work for the simple reason that my fingers spit out something brand new along the line of what I was originally thinking about the Star Slasher -- it's very cool -- digits crossed, please.

Sep. 1, 2015

September 1st -- Tuesday -- Goodness, it's hard to actually type the word September, I mean, that means Fall is very close and summer's over and it's like this four months of football and work and planning for Halloween and Thanksgiving, wrapping for Christmas, and trying to keep my head above water. Yeah, I know, get over it , -- everyone does the same thing in the Fall months. Suck it up and have fun -- yes, I fully intend to. But September 1st -- well, it's here. All of us, put on that smile and look forward, not back.

Another twist in Insidious -- but will it work? It'd mean some rewriting, but we'll see.

August 28, 2015

August 28, 2015

Yes, yet again it's a brilliant Friday, the 28th of August and all is bright and shiny here in Sausalito.
Now, please -- to those of you who've sent me a zillion "messages" on Facebook, PLEASE STOP. If you want to send me a "private" comment you don't wish other people to see, then please email me at ReadMoi@gmail.com. I answer all my emails, I promise, but not the messages here
Places you want to visit: Yep, start that "Italy" jar or that "Scotland" jar -- or anyplace you want to go -- It'll fill up fast -- toss in all stray daily change, all Christmas moolah since you'll ask for $$ for your Italy jar, then there's your birthday -- You'll really clean up. Everyone with me on this? Or if it's a matter of finding the time -- Sit down and plan it out, you can do it. Put on your thinking cap and figure out what you'll have to do to get yourself two weeks in a magical place (like Italy!)
Thinking you'll win the lottery and then you can travel really isn't the way to go here. Nope, talk with your other half, figure it out. And Keep me posted.
Work today, nothing new in that, just as it's nothing to most of you either -- so all of us will hit the desk/computer with a happy face.

August 27, 2015

Correction: I got Janice's 5,5,5 wrong -- it's only in AUGUST that this deal won't reappear for a gazillion years (or something like that) -- yep, there's another 5/5/5 in October.
The new incorporated scene I wrote yesterday in Insidious is really good (in my humble opinion). The guy in the scene is a supercilious egotistical prick, always fun to write a scene with a person like that in it, particularly when he's facing S&S. And yes, I'm very carefully renumbering all the succeeding chapters -- It's time for some heavy action, maybe today -- fingers crossed I can scare the socks off you. My agent in Malibu,CA, Special Agent Cam Wittier, is going to be in deep trouble come midnight, when she's deeply asleep --
If you asked me my favorite country, I'd have to say Italy. Way back when I first visited Rome, I loved Italy so much I had four more Italy trips in the SAME year. (yeah, yeah, that's a little crazy) Less now, usually back every other year, but Italy is still amazing, particularly the Amalfi Coast and Capri -- ah, but then there's Florence and Venice and driving through Tuscany and the Italian Riviera -- and you can't forget Lake Como -- So, what's your favorite place in the whole world?

August 26, 2015

26th, Wednesday -- I did a lot of dancing around my garden yesterday with The Lost Key coming out -- It's always such fun on pub. date -- you're praying everyone sees the book and grabs it up fast, maybe runs to their car with the new book clutched to their chest, and even begins reading it at the red lights. Then the sales numbers start rolling in and you're hoping it'll be enough to make everyone happy.
Now this deal about five Saturdays, five Sundays, and five Mondays -- we've got some disagreement. Janice will clarify -- I probably screwed up the telling.
I'm adding in a new chapter in the 20th FBI thriller -- INSIDIOUS -- have to tuck it in back toward the beginning and then try to renumber all the chapters correctly. I don't know why, but there is always a screw up with say, two Chapter Twenty-fives. Why? I guess the rain gods aren't pleased that I'm dancing with the new book and not exclusively for them. However, it seems that even my very top moves don't please them.

August 25, 2015

Exciting Tuesday, Aug. 25th -- THE LOST KEY is out today in Paperback -- Do let me know what you think. (well, really, only if you're excited and loved it and went singing around the house you were so tickled.) Or you could wear a sandwich board, both sides with the cover of TLK on it and parade around the neighborhood.. I sure like that visual -- maybe dogs will start following you. You could play a pipe and who knows what else might be right behind you?

I hope you've all gotten the August newsletter. If you're not signed up, email me at ReadMoi@gmail.com or go to my website to read it there (you can sign up for it on my website too) -- and please laugh a little, okay?

You know that twist I was telling you about in one of the mysteries in INSIDIOUS (the current FBI I'm writing)? Well, I just came up with a double twist -- Big yea, and keep all your digits crossed it will work. A double twist -- sounds like a dive off the 10 meter board.
The trick is always to have plots like an onion -- you keep peeling away layer after layer.

August 19, 2015

Brave new Wednesday, the very first 19th of August, 2015 and the last -- you know, I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't be so wonderful to be a single day -- over so quickly and then you're history. Something to think about -- or not.

Isn't Kiwan amazing -- all I had to do was type in his name and voila -- there he was, highlighted. He's really bulked up this past year. (now strength and grace) I can remember seeing him when he was eleven years old on a competition video. Long and lanky and so remarkably graceful even then, and fluid. Hard work and focus and good coaching -- what comes now for him? We'll see --
Wrote in the new plot idea, don't know yet if it will work, more massaging needed, keep your digits crossed.
J.T. told me that THE END GAME (not out until September 15th) is #5 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list -- what that means is that you guys have pre-ordered the book like crazy so it's right up there with all the current bestsellers out -- so thank you.
