TOMORROW is the time! GO!

Try to undo the damage of pre-releases. If at all possible buy Trick of the Light tomorrow and if you can't get there tomorrow then *this* week, please. And if you can afford to buy two and set one free, that would be fantastic. I need this series to do well simply for the fact most writers can't support themselves unless they have two adequately performing series. It's just a fact of life. And it's difficult to write two series at once, but I'll do it if it means I can stop this goddamn endless

Trick of the Light excerpt (Chapter One)

For my faithful, loving, rabidly devoted fans <grin>, an excerpt from TOTL. It doesn't have enough of Zeke, my fav, in it to suit me...but he has more than plenty of face time and ass kicking time. Trust me. My second fav, Eli--if Robin Goodfellow went to the Dark Side, doesn't come along until later in the book, but he's more than worth the wait. Being bad is so very good.

Interview Trick of the Light and book giveaway

Marjorie Liu very nicely did an interview for me on her webpage on Trick of the Light. It's nothing you guys don't already know, but signed books will be given away, so mosey over if you want.

Also you guy lurkers (and I know you're out there. I met one at the Con and he was a doll and not just because he bought an extra book. You chicks are missing out on some cute guys by not getting your asses out to

PS Trick of the Light early release

Please if a cover is not turned out, turn it out so all can see Chris's awesome art work. Also, turn one back blurb side out so those who don't read me will know I'm a woman (picture of me on back. Very small picture)...in case they don't care to read female protagonists written by 'men.'

It shouldn't matter, but to some people it does. Thanks to all my great fans for mobilizing. Watch out B&N and Borders. I unleash the dogs of war!   Cry Havoc and let slip the stubby legged dogs of war, stubby

EARLY RELEASE!

CRAP. Have just heard via a fan of an early *early* release of a Trick of the Light at a Borders somewhere...no idea what state or city. Rankings are screwed again! I can't mentally handle my rankings being screwed again! GO! LOOK! BUY!

HELP.

I tweet therefore I am...

a fluffy yellow bird who gets the best of Sylvester every time. Sigh. Seriously, promote or perish. Rob_Thurman. At this point it's tipping for authors to do nothing but promote and the hell with writing. Damn.

The Cover to Cal Novel 5

First:
Again with the Supernatural thing (I'd bang my head against the wall, but the dent is already getting pretty large.) I...like Richard Dean Anderson at a Stargate Panel was only vaguely aware they named episodes and if you asked me in episode blah blah...I, like him, would say, "What? Was I in that episode? What are you talking about?" I, as a creative...questionably...person, am boggled that TV writers would waste an ounce of creativity naming an episode. You have to pump 17 of those puppi

TRICK OF THE LIGHT do not do this!

And as I was checking out some release dates, I came across a professional review done by a magazine that does this and only this for a living. While the review was inoffensive, it was fairly obvious the person didn't read the entire book...probably stopped halfway. Now stopping halfway with this book would be like watching half of Sixth Sense and saying, it was was a nice enough movie about a psychologist and a kid and what's the big fuss? You miss the end, you miss the entire point of the book

TRICK OF THE LIGHT...start your engines

All right, my first reminder that TRICK OF THE LIGHT will be coming out September 1st.  Why is this so important? Well, the usual...a) starving, pity me, buy the book     b) it may be the fact my fans are so wonderfully enthusiastic (foaming and rabid, I love it!) that when they bought DEATHWISH on the day it came out (or a day before...nagging employees to put it out early) in huge masses that that fact alone might have gotten me onto the NYT extended bestseller list. So it may be less the amou

Comic Con (wince) Pictures

I feel as much as this tarnishes my squeaky clean image (choke, gasp), I must be a lesson to others. Do not drink at Comic Con. Do not drink anywhere unless you're of legal age, with a designated driver, and a single brain cell that lets you know when enough is enough. But, especially, DO NOT DRINK AT COMIC CON. Notice when none of your friends (Designated Driver X, Vicki, or Kat) are having their picture taken and come to the conclusion that *they* have a much more developed sense of caution an
