The dates – which celebrate the acclaimed artist’s eagerly anticipated new album, “THE ELECTRIC LADY” – get underway October 13th at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory and then continue through late November (see attached itinerary). Additional dates extending into 2014 will be announced soon. Ticket sales begin at most venues on Friday, August 23rd – please check local listings.“THE ELECTRIC LADY” is set to arrive on September 10th. Today, Ms. Monáe revealed her new single “Primetime (Feat. Miguel)” on www.jmonae.com. “Primetime” follows hot on the heels of the already available hit singles, “Q.U.E.E.N. (Feat. Erykah Badu)” and “Dance Apocalyptic,” both of which are on sale now at all leading DSPs. Listen to “Primetime” here: http://youtu.be/d5ewB-o5N9A.“THE ELECTRIC LADY” is currently available for pre-order in a variety of formats, including a two-disc “Only At Target” Edition featuring four bonus tracks, exclusively via Target (www.target.com/p/janelle-monae-the-electric-lady-only-at-target/-/A-14652334). In addition, “THE ELECTRIC LADY” pre-orders are on offer on the iTunes Store, as well as via Monáe’s own www.jmonae.com. The latter outlet features an array of bundles including such extras as an extremely limited edition black-and-white vinyl 7’’ single, pre-sale ticket access for the upcoming tour, a 20% discount on purchase of the album’s 2-LP vinyl edition (due later this year), and instant MP3 downloads of both “Q.U.E.E.N. (Feat. Erykah Badu)” and “Dance Apocalyptic,” which is featured in Monáe’s new CoverGirl commercial. To pre-order the album, please visit http://smarturl.it/theelectriclady.shop. With “THE ELECTRIC LADY,” Janelle Monáe more than affirms the rapturous acclaim that greeted her now-legendary 2010 debut, “THE ARCHANDROID.” The album sees the inimitable singer/songwriter/producer/performer/CoverGirl creating an epic new “emotion picture” inspired by her raw personal dreams and experiences and the stories of such courageous, powerful women as groundbreaking icons Dorothy Dandridge, Sally Ride and Cindi Mayweather. The musical language is equally innovative, an urgent, inventive future-pop fraught with mind-melting funk, rebel raps, punk energy, soaring guitars, day-glo synthesizers, psychedelic soul string arrangements, and Monaé’s own astonishing, utterly idiosyncratic artistry. In addition to the aforementioned collaborations with Badu and Miguel, “THE ELECTRIC LADY” further sees Monáe teaming with such like-minded artists as Solange (“Electric Lady”), Esperanza Spalding (”Dorothy Dandridge Eyes”), and her lifelong hero, the one and only Prince (“Given Em What They Love”). “THE ELECTRIC LADY” was co-produced by Monáe alongside her fellow Wondaland Arts Society members, Deep Cotton (Chuck Lightning & Nate Wonder) and Roman GianArthur. Monáe, Lightning, and Wonder Executive Produced with Sean “Diddy” Combs; the Co-Executive Producer is Antwan “Big Boi” Patton; Asscociate Album Producers are Mitch “Mitchowski” Martin and Roman GianArthur.Monáe, who is an official CoverGirl spokeswoman, graces the cover of VIBE’s “20th Anniversary Collector’s Issue” with none other than Robin Thicke, set for September/October 2013. An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the cover shoot is streaming now at ET Online, located at www.etonline.com/music/137143_Behind_the_Scenes_of_Robin_Thicke_and_Janelle_Monae_s_Vibe_Magazine_Photo_Shoot/index.html. Furthermore, the unforgettable cover art for “THE ELECTRIC LADY” and its exclusive “Only At Target Edition” was unveiled earlier this week. Entitled “Cindi Mayweather And Her Sisters Cast A Spell Over the Good City of Metropolis,” the work – painted by revolutionary illustrator Sam Spratt – can be viewed now at http://57821.tumblr.com as well as in a striking teaser at Monaé’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOdnTPNsFJ4. Blue Sky Black Death shares new song
BLUE SKY BLACK DEATH SHARES "II (FEAT. CHILD ACTOR)" VIA NOISEY
ANNOUNCES GLACIERS LP DUE OCTOBER 1ST VIA FAKE FOUR
Stream: "Glaciers (feat. Child Actor)" - https://soundcloud.com/fakefour/ii-feat-child-actor
Today, the production duo Blue Sky Black Death is proud to announce their fourth LP, Glaciers, which will be released on October 1st via Fake Four. The album follows three previous instrumental albums as well as collaborations with rappers such as Nacho Picasso and Deniro Farrar. Expanding on ideas developed over their previous releases, Glaciers presents previously unexplored avenues for hip-hop production as the duo combine disparate influences such as shoegaze textures and prog-rock structures with 808's and flourishes of deep bass. They have also enlisted vocalists Child Actor, Lotte Kestner, and JMSN to help further their vision. To celebrate, BSBD has shared "II (feat. Child Actor)", a song that clocks in at over 10 minutes and previews what will be experienced on the 5 song Glaciers LP. Stream it above and read the group's biography below.
Blue Sky Black Death biography:
From backpacks to snapbacks, the career of Blue SkyBlack Death has spanned more than a decade of genre evolution and artistic growth. After starting separately as beat makers during the golden age of indie hip-hop in the late 90s, the duo united and expanded their repertoire in 2006 with the double album A Heap Of Broken Images. The first disc of this album was their first official foray into purely instrumental work. Subsequently they have pursued both avenues, collaborating with several rappers while also releasing two more instrumental suites - Late Night Cinema and Noir. Paying homage to their mutual appreciation of southern rap traditions in a historically unique way, the duo also created chopped & screwed versions of these albums, respectively called Lean Night Cinema and Noir + Violet. Striving to continue progress into unexpected directions, Blue Sky Black Death now present their most ambitious and original work yet. Glaciersis a culmination of years of experimentation, a realization of ideas which were only hinted at in their previous efforts. While the tag 'instrumental hip-hop' could still be applied nominally, the duo's appreciation of post-rock, shoegaze and prog-rock makes for a daring sonic blend far removed from the repetitive loops and structures traditionally associated with this genre. This departure from convention is accentuated further by cameos from fellow Fake Four Inc.signees Child Actor and singer JMSN. Their collaborations with BSBD are symbiotic, marked by mutual testing of comfort zones, the guests and their hosts pushing each other beyond boundaries of previous experience. To ensure that the presentation of Glaciers is as unique as its contents, the cover was commissioned to the multi-talented Maxime Buchi; a notable tattooist, designer and creative director of the cult favorite Sang Bleu magazine.
Even when accounting for the continuously blurring lines between rap production and electronic and ambient music, what happens on Glaciersstill stands as nearly unprecedented. Simply put, the aim here is to go big. In one regard this means longer songs, with several tracks reaching over 10 minutes. But beyond just length, there is a sense of operatic grandiosity that imbues even the album's shorter entries. The group has combined samples with live instrumentation before, but never so dramatically and profoundly as now. The listener is placed directly into the eye of the storm as all around him chords and vocals swell and fall, awash in sweeping waves of synth and bass. The effect is sometimes chaotic but never violent. Blue Sky Black Death craft music of tumultuous beauty; music at once both exciting and soothing. Predicated on this contradiction, their compositions coalesce into a singular harmony. They form a new terrain from disparate building blocks, a vast alien expanse of sound waiting to be explored.

VIOLET CLARK (ON HIATUS FROM GRAND DUCHY) DEBUTS
VIOLET CLARK RELEASES SOLO SINGLE "PURE O"- AN INCREDIBLY CHARMING DOSE OF INDIE POP
"KILLJOY" ALBUM COMING THIS FALL THROUGH THE BUREAU RECORDS
WATCH THE VIDEO FOR "PURE O" HERE
“PURE O” is the new single from the newly (musically) single Violet Clark. On hiatus from her band Grand Duchy -- the offbeat, experimental art-rock duo founded in 2008 with husband Black Francis of the legendary Pixies -- Violet has chosen a stripped-down approach to creating her first collection of solo material. “I want people to go ‘Okay, she’s got the goods. I’ll buy stock, I’ll invest in the evolution of this artist.’” “PURE O” is the first single off of Ms. Clark’s upcoming debut solo album “KILLJOY” (to be released September 2013 on the couple’s own imprint, The Bureau Records). Whereas Grand Duchy’s last album 2012’s “Let The People Speak”was a long, lushly produced electro-tinged musical odyssey, “Pure O” has a vintage, nuts-and-bolts feel that is both timeless and extremely fresh in today’s glistening auto-tuned musical landscape. Inspired by a budding friendship with lo-fi icon R. Stevie Moore, Violet began exploring a live, organic recording approach over a period of time alongside longtime Dinosaur Jr collaborator Justin Pizzoferatto. Rifling through the results, she then fleshed out the songs that she deemed ready to take to the next level. Unapologetically quirky, “PURE O” embodies a catchy yet highly original sound that offers Violet’s unique, off-kilter singing and songwriting style a safe haven in which to fully bloom. “I didn’t want to hide behind production on the new songs.” she states. “I love developing chord structures, and I love writing lyrics. I am choosing to move away from complex layers to focus on the basic building blocks of music.” This approach gives “Pure O” a lot of sonic breathing room, allowing the hooks and instrumentation to “pop.” In place of the breathy synths of some previous works, there’s an analog buzz of a vintage Python organ. Violet also plays guitar on the track, which she has found to be a key way to keep the sound simple as "I don't showboat. I can't. I’m not a trained guitar player!” Add some catchy sing-along vocals, a raw, pulsing bass line (courtesy of the hubby, Mr. Francis), pounding surf drums, and the song breezes by like a summer afternoon, culminating in a breathtaking, powerhouse of an outro. The result is an easy-to-swallow, incredibly charming dose of indie pop.

The Lonely Forest Announce New Album
The Lonely Forest Announce New Album Adding Up The Wasted HoursTo Be Released October 8
Band Announces Fall Dates For First Ever Headlining Tour
Anacortes, WA based rock band The Lonely Forest are excited to announce they will release their new album Adding Up the Wasted Hours on October 8 via Trans / Chop Shop Records. Adding Up the Wasted Hours was recorded by Death Cab For Cutie member Chris Walla. The album includes 11 new songs, including the track "Warm/Happy" which you can download free at the link below. Said the band of the first new song they've released in a few years, "Warm/Happy, lyrically, is a self-assuring song. I think artists can have a hard time connecting with people outside of their art...which is where the chorus line "We hate to relate so we synthesize, we're warm and happy" comes from. Our music is what bridges that gap and helps us communicate."

The group is also pleased to announce a Fall headline tour in support of the release beginning on Oct 10 in Nampa, ID; hitting numerous markets through November including Los Angeles, New York City, and more. Having spent most of 2011 and 2012 on the road, including outings with Death Cab For Cutie, The Joy Formidable, Two Door Cinema Club and Minus the Bear as well as a show-stopping set at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival, which saw them playing to thousands of people on the festival's main stage, this will be the band's first proper headlining tour. For the band's full itinerary, please see below.
The band's previous album, Arrows , received overwhelming acclaim following its release on Trans Records/Atlantic Records. NPRcalled it "one of the best and most honest slices of pop music around," and the accolades continue to come in from the likes of SPIN , New York Magazine , Nylon , Teen Vogue , Alternative Press , Paste , and was featured on several year-end lists including NPR, Amazon and more.
From the outset The Lonely Forest-singer/guitarist/keyboardist John Van Deusen, guitarist Tony Ruland, drummer Braydn Krueger, and bassist Eric Sturgeon- has been about inclusion. In 2005, a raucous garage session inspired the guys (Braydn, Tony, and Eric) to join forces with Van Deusen's piano-pop. As grows their fanbase, The Lonely Forest 's music is continually expanding and evolving. At its core, the music features Van Deusen's soaring vocals and keyboard melodies wrapped tightly around Ruland's expansive guitar anchored by a heavy yet nimble rhythm section.
