Don Muro's Classic 1977 Space-Pop Masterpiece Reissued!

Don Muro's It's Time
Superbly Musical 1977 Masterpiece
Reissued by Flannelgraph / Landlocked Records
Distributed by Light In The Attic
Out 10/8/2013! "Most lost-classic reissues fit snugly into genre ghettos, but Don Muro's 1977 masterpiece It's Time defies even our precise 21st-century methods of classification. Rock, funk, synth-pop, disco, ambient, space-age: nothing suffices. It's funny, it's solemn, it's light, it's shady, it's sly, it's earnest, and it's none and all of the above. Enjoy it ironically and suddenly it gets sublime; take it seriously and soon enough it's having fun at your expense. I dare you to try to file this one away - chances are it'll keep poking its head out of your collection, challenging you to figure it all out before it even attracts a speck of dust." —Marc Masters (Pitchfork; The Wire)

"Muro's album is entirely his own creation: he plays guitar, bass, and drums in addition to piano, organ, and a battery of synthesizers. It's always refreshing to find superb music flourishing on the fringes of the established superstar scene." —Keyboard, December 1977

PureVolume Premieres Jake Bellows's "I Can't Wait" Video

PureVolume Premieres Jake Bellows's "I Can't Wait" VideoDebut Solo Album New Ocean Out Now On Saddle Creek
Pacific Northwest Tour Dates Announced
"The 11-track LP features previously shared stunners "I Know You" and "All Right Now", and also makes way for "left turns into drunk-in-the-sun bossa nova, blue-eyed-soul ruptured by fuzz guitar, [and] love songs that are not necessarily ballads" - SPIN
"He's approachable and humble, but engage the guy in a little conversation and you will soon realize that he's not quite on the same plane as the rest of us - in the best way a singer-songwriter can be." - Filter

"Bellows' woozy voice waxes, wanes, woos and philosophizes, revealing the work of a songwriter who knows the best music is not a one-way conversation."  - Buzzbands LA
Watch: "I Can't Wait" via PureVolume or YouTube
PureVolume premiered the video for "I Can't Wait" from Jake Bellows's critically acclaimed debut solo album New Ocean out now on Saddle Creek and limited edition cassette through Majestic Litter. The video was directed by Morgan's Brother and features found film from The Prelinger Archives and Archives New Zealand. Interview Magazinerecently said, "Jake Bellows is making his comeback. After serving as Neva Dinova's frontman for 15 years (and then taking a break from music), he's back with new material: soulful music amplified by fuzzy guitar and philosophical lyrics." Paste added that New Ocean is "his best work since Neva Dinova's 2008 high watermark, You May Already be Dreaming." Jake Bellows just announced a Pacific Northwest tour in support of New Ocean. All shows are listed below.
Jake Bellows had quit music. Or so he thought.   After fronting Neva Dinovafor more than 15 years, which included five full-lengths, a split EP, and countless tours, he packed up his dog and moved from his native Omaha to his girlfriend's hometown of Los Angeles. Two days before he left he recorded 18 demos with musician and engineer Ben Brodinat his insistence. Once in L.A., Bellows got a job installing sliding-glass doors and sold his Les Paul to buy a Datsun pick-up truck.
Though he had no plans to form a new band, he played the occasional solo show, performed with Whispertown, and continued to write songs. In early 2011, an invitation arrived from Omaha's Film Streams Theater for Jake's old friend Ryan Foxalso living on the West Coast, to perform an original live film-score. Fox enlisted Bellows and Brodin to collaborate and the trio began to compose and discuss improvisational ideas over long-distance. Since they were all going to be in Omaha and had a long history of playing in each other's bands, Brodin and Fox nudged Bellows into booking studio time to record some of his dormant songs.
Fox and Bellows drove from LA to Omaha that November. They entered ARC Studios for a feverish recording session, arranging and writing parts on the fly with an impromptu band including Heath Koontz, Todd Fink, Whispertown bandmate Morgan Nagler and other old friends. Committing quickly to intuitive arrangements the band recorded 17 tracks in a little more than a week. They worked remotely on the record throughout that winter and spring, adding overdubs in basements and bedrooms across western North America.
The new music is underpinned by philosophical conviction and shaped by an interest in physics, cosmology and mythology. Bellows returned to music with a renewed sense of the intrinsic value of art and its ability to express the commonality of human experience. His debut full-length, New Ocean, offers a mix tape of different kinds of songs hanging out on one record - love songs that are not necessarily ballads despite their introspective gauziness, with left turns into drunk-in-the-sun bossa nova and blue-eyed-soul ruptured by fuzz guitar. Bellows believes that songs change the fabric of the universe through the very frequencies they emit. As such, the record attempts to create the world he wants to see instead of reflect the world that is.

Watch Video For New Temples Single, "Keep In The Dark"

TEMPLES ANNOUNCE FIRST NORTH AMERICAN TOUR & "KEEP IN THE DARK" SINGLE, OUT TODAY ON FAT POSSUM
WATCH "KEEP IN THE DARK" VIDEO http://youtu.be/99U9-zRHXf0
"Temples specialize in '60s-washed psychedelia, blending anemic vocals and shaggy melodies into a wonderfully murky swirl." -  SPIN
"'Colours To Life' adeptly balances both their idols' folk-pop roots and psych-rock branches . . . It's an unearthing of a time capsule for sure, but 'Colours To Life' still can feel like a breath of fresh air." - Pitchfork
"Their first single and calling card is last year's 'Shelter Song', a jerky earworm of a 12-string guitar riff with a loping rhythm section, elegantly rough-hewn with vocals rendered in '60s-style tinny sonic relief. . . 'Colours To Life' . . . found them foregrounding its spectral keyboards and pushing into increasingly expansive terrain." - The Quietus
Kettering, England, psychedelic-pop band Temples introduced themselves to North American audiences last month via the "Shelter Song"/"Colours to Life" 7," out now on Fat Possum. Today, the four-piece share a new 60s inspired, end-of-summer jam, the immediately endearing "Keep In The Dark," and announce their first North American tour! Recorded and produced by the band in their own Pyramid Studio and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer, "Keep In The Dark" is now available Fat Possum, featuring the b-side "Jewel Of Mine Eye." In the meantime, check out the song's new video, directed by Abbie Stephens and produced by Creature of London. Following the release of "Keep In The Dark," Temples' James Baghaw (vocals, guitar), Tom Warmsley (bass, backing vocals), Sam Toms (drums)and Adam Smith (keys) will make their way stateside for a 10-day Midwest and East Coast run in November showing North American audiences firsthand, this young, production-obsessed band can equally deliver on stage as on record.

"one of the brightest new lights of the current psych scene" - NME
"Temples deftly combine the vintage with the modern. 'Shelter Song' pulls off the sort of sonic alchemy that makes psych-rock fans' ears perk up: Crackling drums, kaleidoscopic guitars and keyboards, and syrupy vocals that reference The Twilight Zone." - MTV Hive ["The 10 Best Indie-Rock Tracks of July"]

DIEGO GARCIA ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

DIEGO GARCIA ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM 'PARADISE' TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 8th ON CONCORD RECORDS
Tour Kicks Off September 5th in Baltimore, MD   Download First Single "Sunnier Days" Free HERE

Los Angeles, CA - August 22, 2013 - Singer/songwriter Diego Garcia announced a 16-city North American tour today in support of his new album "Paradise," to be released October 8th on Concord Records.  Garcia's tour will kick off in Baltimore, MD on September 5th and will visit such major cities as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston and San Francisco, among others.  For a full list of dates and cites, see below. The album's first single "Sunnier Days", which Entertainment Weekly premiered, has been embraced by tastemaker radio stations across the country.  Los Angeles' KCRW listed "Sunnier Days" in their new music feature Three Songs You Should Be Listening To Right Now, calling it, "pure positivity."  New York's WFUV named the song one of this week's best new releases saying: "Diego Garcia's "Sunnier Days" is exactly like it sounds: a playful, summery tune that combines his Latin roots (he was raised by Argentinian parents) and wide-ranging influences like Serge Gainsbourg." On October 11th Philadelphia's WXPN radio will present a Diego Garcia Free At Noon concert simulcast live on 88.5FM and WXPN.ORG.  The live concert and interview will be also taped for later broadcast on NPR's syndicated national radio program World Café. With its lush string arrangements, intricate Spanish guitars, and distinct Latin flavor, "Paradise" is a departure from Elefant, Garcia's former band that toured alongside such acts as The National, Interpol and Morrissey. The timeless romanticism within Garcia's modern sound however, (largely inspired by Sandro, Roberto Carlos and Julio Iglesias, pioneers of the classic Latin troubadour movement) remains a consistent thread.  On "Paradise" Garcia deftly pools his love of the dramatic Latin vocalists along with a deep affinity for the darker poetry of David Bowie, Leonard Cohen and Bryan Ferry, into a truly special artistic achievement.

In anticipation of the release of Static , Cults premiered “I Can Hardly Make You Mine” on NPR’s All Songs Considered last week.  Vulture exclaimed of the critically received track: “Cults are the best of the indie-pop girl group revivalists… and this song shows why.”   Static was written and recorded over the course of 2012 in the band’s home base of New York City.  The album was produced by Cults with support from Shane Stoneback (Sleigh Bells, Vampire Weekend) and Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Washed Out).  The band shared a self-directed album teaser which features tracks from Static including: “We’ve Got It” and “So Far,” view here: http://cultscultscults.com                                                                                                        Cults on tour: 10/22     Boston, MA                        The Sinclair10/23     Philadelphia, PA               TLA10/26     Las Vegas, NV                    Life is Beautiful Festival10/27     Las Vegas, NV                    Life is Beautiful Festival10/29     Washington, D.C.             Black Cat10/30     Durham, NC                       Motorco10/31     Charlotte, NC                     Visulite Theatre11/1       Atlanta, GA                         The Loft11/2       New Orleans, LA              Voodoo Fest11/4       Austin, TX                            Emo’s11/5       Houston, TX                       Fitzgeralds11/6       Dallas, TX                             Tree’s11/8       Albuquerque, NM           Launchpad11/9       Phoenix, AZ                        Crescent Ballroom11/10     San Diego, CA                    The Irenic11/12     Los Angeles, CA                El Rey Theatre11/13     San Francisco, CA             The Fillmore11/15     Portland, OR                      Wonder Ballroom11/16     Vancouver, BC                  Rio Theatre11/17     Seattle, WA                        Neumo’s11/20     Denver, CO                         Bluebird Theatre11/22     Minneapolis, MN             First Ave11/23     Chicago, IL                           Metro11/24     Cleveland, OH                   Grog Shop11/25     Toronto, ON                       Lee’s Place11/26     New York, NY                    Webster Hall

London Grammar share Interlude via Gorilla vs Bear

LONDON GRAMMAR TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM  IF YOU WAIT
SEPTEMBER 10 VIA COLUMBIA RECORDS
(album available on request)

New album track "Interlude" revealed via Gorilla vs Bear HERE
and Soundcloud HERE
(free to share)

BAND ANNOUNCES FIRST EVER USA TOUR

“Their songs are haunting to the point they rattle the nerves”
- Pitchfork

UK-based trio London Grammar - Hannah Reid, Dot Major and Dan Rothman - has announced the release of its highly anticipated debut album.  If You Wait  will be available digitally in the US on September 10 via Columbia Records. The album features 11 tracks (see tracklisting below) including the recently released Strong, which is gaining strong radio support in the UK and lighting up the blogosphere. Pitchfork praised the song, noting “Reid’s voice washes over you, clean and perfectly,” while London’s Sunday Times commended its “killer melodies magicked into greatness by Reid’s soulful, yearning vocals.”

The album is a result of 18 painstaking months spent writing and recording. Heavily involved in every decision made on  If You Wait , the band handpicked their team, co-producing the album with Tim Bran (The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, La Roux) and Roy Kerr AKA The Freelance Hellraiser. Roc Nation’s KD (Outkast, Beyoncé, Jay-Z) was drafted to mix the album, with Grammy-winning Tom Coyne (Adele’s 21) joining them to master.

London Grammar will spend the summer touring internationally before heading to the US and Canada for a number of dates in September and October. Kicking off September 25 at Los Angeles’ Troubadour, the tour will see London Grammar crossing North America with stops in cities including San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto and New York before ending in Boston on October 10 (see full itinerary below). Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, August 9. For additional information on the tour please visit http://www.londongrammar.com/live .

Since introducing itself with near anonymous posts of two songs (Hey Now and Metal & Dust) late last year, London Grammar quickly captured the interest and, more importantly, the imagination of music fans across the UK and beyond. The tracks catapulted the band straight into the spotlight, with music critics and fans eager to see what they did next. The trio released the acclaimed Metal & Dust EP in June, sold out two London dates, played with The xx at their Night + Day festival and secured slots at nearly all of the UK’s major summer festivals - including Glastonbury, Bestival and Festival Number 6 - before confirming their own UK headline tour set for this October, which has already sold out the first London date with a second now announced.

London Grammar is Hannah Reid, Dot Major and Dan Rothman.

August 21, 2013 - Asheville, NC - With just over two months to go until the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit makes its mark on Asheville, AC Entertainment has finalized this year's lineup! Additions include a wide range of performers: Deltron 3030 (aka the collboration between Dan the Automator, Del the Funky Homosapien, and Kid Koala),the US premiere of King Britt Presents Fhloston Paradigm featuring Pia Ercole (more on that below), XXYYXX, PANTyRAiD, Rudimental, Darkside (aka Nicholas Jarr and Dave Harrington), Baths, Claude VonStroke, The Orb, Raime, How To Dress Well, Laurel Halo, William Basinksi making a rare US appearance, Tourist, Nostalghia, Big Black Delta, Jherek Bischoff, I Speak Machine (Tara Busch), and Alan Howarth, best known for scoring the films of John Carpenter, including "Halloween II" and "Halloween III," amongst others. These performers and more, plus and an exciting group of already announced acts (full lineup is below) will descend upon downtown Asheville, Friday, October 25-Sunday, October 27, for what is certain to be an unforgettable weekend of live music and other activities.
Mountain Oasis is pleased to present the US premiere of King Britt Presents Fhloston Paradigm featuring Pia Ercole. This was created by King Britt in an experimental attempt to go back to a semi primitive process of CV triggers and analog sequences. Within this experiment lies the connection between old world ideas and new world technology, with the result remaining otherwordly and the outcome being somewhere between "Blade Runner" and "808 State."
Woven around the twin threads of contemporary electronic music and the creative use of technology - old and new - Mountain Oasis features world-class musical performances by many of the greatest artists in contemporary music, along with talks, seminars, and panels by artists and others; interactive experiences for audiences; art installations and exhibitions, and more. The events all take place indoors, within easy walking distance of one another, in the heart of downtown Asheville. The mountain oasis that is Asheville provides extraordinary inspiration as a stunningly beautiful and unique setting for the festival. Both its rich cultural history and its current innovative vitality are inseparable from the Mountain Oasis experience.
VIP Weekend passes are now sold out, but GA Weekend passes and daily tickets are still available at www.mountainoasisfestival.com.
