NIGHT OF THE BLOOD MOON OUT 8/20 CHVDS is now, as it always has been, about the way things sound - and those things sound full of despair. The songs are dark and droning, defined by cold, repetitive and crushing noises accompanied by tortured screams and the menace of distant, incoherent chants. Plodding and pounding, the drums help round out the CHVDS sound and make it all their own. While CHVDS finds its origins in Black Metal, Doom, and, well, Enya, the CHVDS sound is not easily defined.

Parquet Courts Share New Song, Announce New EP
PARQUET COURTS ANNOUNCE NEW EP, "TALLY ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU BROKE," OUT 10/8 ON WHAT'S YOUR RUPTURE?
BAND SHARES NEW TRACK,"YOU'VE GOT ME WONDERIN' NOW,"
SENDS MIXTAPES TO FANS WITH SECRET TRACK & PARQUET COURTS HOTLINE NUMBER

Unless you've caught Parquet Courtslive in the past 5 months (which, let's face it, considering the ferocity of their recent tour schedule, wouldn't have been that difficult a task), it's been a while since they've shared new tunes. Aside from the brief B-side burst of "Smart Aleck Kid," people haven't heard new "properly recorded" songs from the boys since their critically acclaimed album, Light Up Gold , a surefire year-end best-of list staple. That's because, in between touring, they've been busy writing and recording more music for the nice people, and we're pleased to announce the first taste, an EP they are calling "Tally All The Things That You Broke," which will be released October 8 on What's Your Rupture?.
Parquet Courts have always tried to find unique ways to truly connect with fans (all while eschewing conventional means like Twitter and Facebook), whether viscerally at shows or via their wordpress site's occasional mixtapes. Well, the band has a new mixtape, and this one's of the brick & mortar variety. They mailed out 250 mixtape cassettes to fans and supporters, and the astute and patient ear will notice two very curious things about it. The first is the phone number overdubbed at the beginning. "NINE-ONE-SEVEN-FOUR-SEVEN-ONE-TWO-EIGHT-FIVE-FIVE, CALL NOW!" shouts a voice at the top of the tape. The second is the (not-so) secret track at the end of Side B. Well, well, well, if it ain't a new Parquet Courts track! "You've Got Me Wonderin' Now" is the first salvo off the new EP. "Tally" is far more than a stopgap in between full-lengths; it's the sound of Parquet Courts stretching out.
Parquet Courts remain Austin Brown, A. Savage, Sean Yeaton and M. Savage. They sound like all the bands you think they sound like. They've toured everywhere this year and will continue to do so.

"PermaWar" - New Ministry Music Video
MINISTRY'S "PERMAWAR" MUSIC VIDEO: A PSYCHEDELIC STATEMENT ON AMERICA'S LITANY OF WAR"You live to die another day, we send you off with a gunWe're making money hand over fist, that's why we're never done"
LOS ANGELES, CA -- "PermaWar," the first music video from Ministry's upcoming studio album From Beer To Eternity, is making its premiere today on Loudwire and Noisecreep simultaneously. The digital single is currently available exclusively in the iTunes store.
The "PermaWar" video is a amalgamation of provocative news images culled from World War Two, Viet Nam, Afghanistan and Iraq, and a bad acid trip. Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen is featured in the video portraying three different personalities, representing three different points of view on America's repetition and persistence of war: the corrupt political leader, the predatory business man, and possibly most dangerous of all, the passive observer.
The video was shot in July at Jourgensen's 13th Planet compound in El Paso, TX, produced by Angelina Lukacin-Jourgensen and directed by filmmaker/animator Zach Passero whose credits include Ministry's "Lieslieslies," "GhoulDiggers," and "99 Percenters," RevCo's "Fire Engine," and the feature film "Wicked Lake."
Ministry's From Beer To Eternityis set for a September 10 release (AFM/13th Planet Records), and features the final studio recordings by long-time Ministry collaborator guitarist Mike Scaccia who died in December from a heart attack suffered three days after rough tracks for the album had been completed.

King Tuff Premieres New M. Wartella-Directed Video
KING TUFF PREMIERES NEW M. WARTELLA-DIRECTED VIDEO FOR "SUN MEDALLION"
TOUR BEGINS SEPT. 25 IN DENVER

King Tuff's banner 2013 just keeps on movin', without a stop in sight, as though there was nothing to it! Kyle and company kick off their fall tour in Denver on September 25, after which they join up with buddies Wavves and Jacuzzi Boys. But first, behold! The magic of the Kyle's legendary Sun Medallion is captured as only madman M. Wartella is capable of. Premiered yesterday on Rolling Stone and VEVO, Kyle gets into the dirty details:
"'Sun Medallion' is a song that came out of my dreams and it's about this little charm I picked up years ago. I worked at a hospice clothing store and that's where the actual sun medallion fell into my hands. It had power. I wanted to film the video in my hometown of Brattleboro, Vermont, where the song loosely takes place, so early this summer my friend and director/cartoonist/Magic Man Mike Wartella took the train up from New York City with his homemade teleidoscope and we shot the whole thing in a day. My favorite part is when I turn into a witch, played by my BFF Ruthie."

New Music From White Poppy

White Poppy is the solo project of British Columbian Crystal Dorval, who is excited to announce her debut self-titled full-length record, out September 3rd on Not Not Fun.
Stream "Wear Me Away" on SPIN
SPIN has the premiere of first single "Wear Me Away," a track that stands for a record full of "dreamy, washed out, lovesick stunners...with its faded-fuzz veneer and angelic vocals, the song makes for a prime introduction. Enjoy."The record is a gorgeous, experimental exploration of washed out psychedelic melodies and floating vocals with the warmest of tones and blurry harmonies, at times a blend of fuzzy guitars and shoegaze-laced melodies, and others a mix of kaleidoscopic dream-gaze. A work in progress for more than a year and initially recorded onto a four-track cassette recorder, White Poppy is a conclusive record and one that bears a quality of therapeutic pop, building on the themes and sounds of the artist's past releases.
In addition to the release of the record, White Poppy will also be embarking on a West coast tour this September, with all dates below and more to come.Fall Tour Dates 2013 /09.13.13 - Cairo - Seattle, WA

* with High Wolf British Columbian inner-peacenik Crystal Dorval's "experimental therapeutic pop" project White Poppyhas been evolving and percolating into fresh forms the past couple years, but last winter she ventured out from her bedroom haven, packing a satchel full of 4-track tapes and boarding a boat across the Strait Of Georgia to the town of Ladysmith on Vancouver Island. She made it to The Noise Floor Recording Studio to mastermind and mix the ten deluxe, delirious, dream-gaze gems comprising her self-titled full-length debut. The trek was a triumph. Fusing the warm, washed tonalities of her earliest cassette-blurred lotus meditations within a richer range of glittering guitar gestures, sky-way keyboard cascades, and neon-violet vocal refractions, the collection captures the catchy, dizzy fuzz and textured, opiated heights of Dorval's deceptively vulnerable songcraft. The see-sawing balance of faded, forlorn freefalling ("Emotional Intelligence," "Existential Angst") with buoyant, blissed independence-pop ("Wear Me Away," "Without Answers") conjures a real rainbow mood ring three-dimensionality, a kaleidoscope of intimate drifter soul. True-gaze for a newer age. On tour in low lit cultural buildings up and down the West coast this fall. White Poppywill be out September 3rd, 2013 on Not Not Fun Records in the form of black vinyl LPs in Parthenon-portraiture jackets designed by Ms. Dorval, herself.
