L7 Postpone U.S. and Australian Tour Dates Due To Family Health Emergency

L7 Postpone Upcoming
U.S. and Australian Tour Dates
Due To Family Health Emergency

L7 regretfully announce that they have postponed their upcoming U.S. and Australian tour dates due to a family health emergency. New U.S. dates have yet to be set, but the band currently plans to reschedule for later in 2016. Rescheduled Australian tour date information is available here. L7 ask for privacy on this personal matter and send their thanks to their loving fans for respecting their wishes.

Personal message from the band:
L7 regret to announce that due to a family health emergency of a private, non-trivial nature, we will have to postpone our upcoming U.S. and Australian tour dates. Although some of the shows were just very recently announced, LIFE HAPPENS and when it does you have to step up and take care of business for the ones you love.

Speaking of some other ones we love (YOU) … this is just a postponement. We plan to see you in 2016, just a few more months down the line. In the meantime, stayed tuned here. We will continue to post fun stuff and read your beautiful and sometimes hilarious comments.

Thanks for your understanding! With much love and appreciation, L Fuckin' 7

Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds New Album Out April 22nd Via In The Red

Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds New Album: La Araña Es La VidaOut April 22nd via In The Red Records North American Tour Begins May 3rd
Photo: Rick Marr Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds' fourth and strongest album yet for In The Red Records“La Araña Es La Vida”, summons the Mexican muse of The Great Spider Goddess of Teoticuhan, who sprouts hallucinogenic morning glories and protects the underworld, or in Kid’s eyes, the world of underground music.  Recorded at The Harveyville High School gym in Kansas, Guitar slinger and singer, the legendary Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds), bassist Kiki Solis (Baby Baby Dance With Me, Knife in The Water, Rhythm of Black Lines), drummer Ron Miller (Switch Hitter, Up The Academy) are joined by Chicano, Mosrite playing guitaristMark Cisneros (Medications, Deathfix) on this self-produced ball of wax.  “La Araña Es La Vida” rocks n rolls it’s way thru a planet of Glamazons (Psychic Future), blisters with the tricks of a “Magic Machine” then gets to work out a low rider groove on “Chicano Studies”.  Tales of gender bending, disembodied heads, gente from La Puente and even a TCB-era, Elvis-inspired rave up on “Karate Monkey” is merely a smatter of the magic on this platter. A limited number of vinyl comes with a limited edition single; a cover of the Psychedelic Furs“We Love You”, plus an original tune; “Anything To Say", with the CD featuring a bonus track; “Nasty Hat”, as well as featuring completely different artwork from the vinyl. The world is a wild and woolly place and with “La Araña”, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds will continue to mirror it. Orale! High Waisted FULL ALBUM STREAMING on Consequence of Sound!

High Waisted’s Debut LP On Ludlow

Now Streaming on

Consequence of Sound

On Ludlow  Out on March 4
+ SXSW Bound

Stream On Ludlow Here

“Each of these 12 tracks is a party unto itself, complete with scuzzy bass, bright vocal harmonies, and enough reverb to fill a decently sized punch bowl.” – Consequence of Sound

“The band’s mastery of 50s era vocals and classic surf guitar will have you dancing in your chair while considering buying tickets to Hawaii.” - Noisey

[Lead singer Jessica Louise] Dye sings with an easiness that disguises how technically demanding the parts are. Translation: girl can sing, and she does.” – Brooklyn Vegan

“Somehow, they’ve managed to balance organic, unfiltered energy with the finesse necessary to craft lush and dreamy soundscapes that make you want to both chill and get up to dance and freak out – which is quite a feat.” – Alt Citizen

In advance of the March 4 release of their debut LP, NYC’s High Waisted is now streaming  On Ludlow  in full on  Consequence of Sound . After paying their dues and building up a bad-ass reputation in the Lower East Side, the band is ready to release their sunny surf-pop to the rest of the world. In the midst of a dreary winter, Jessica Louise Dye and her band of long-haired hunks bring back the feel-good, warm summer vibes the city so desperately needs.

After the nonstop Winter Whatever tour (shot by the band for Impose), a trip to theDaytrotter studios, summertime shows on boats, and fundraiser “baked” sales, High Waisted is definitely due for a full album.  On Ludlow  will be self-released on March 4 with a hometown Lower East Side release show on March 3 at Mercury Lounge. The band will also be playing multiple showcases at this year’s SXSW.

High Waisted thrives on letting the city that never sleeps join in as another member of the band, holding just as much influence as any of the members and serving as the perfect backdrop to the endless summer nights spent on rooftops, the crushes gone wrong, and the friendships and memories that make it all right again.  On Ludlow  is Jessica Louise Dye’s narrative of love and life in the Lower East Side filtered through a lens of reverb and sunshine.

Stream On Ludlow on CoS

NPR Music premiere Anna Meredith music video for "Taken" - Varmints out Friday 3/4

ANNA MEREDITH PREMIERES MUSIC VIDEO FOR “TAKEN”VIA NPR MUSIC
DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM VARMINTS OUT MARCH 4THON  MOSHI MOSHI RECORDSToday, NPR Music premiere the official video for Anna Meredith’s latest single “Taken”. Describing the video as “eminently playful and light-hearted, yet as tightly wound as the music it accompanies.”, “Taken” is the second single from Meredith’s debut LP Varmints, due for release this Friday March 4th, 2016 via Moshi Moshi.
Taking inspiration from David Hockney's 'Joiners' collages and Sol Lewitt's photo collections, director Ewan Jones Morris says, “It's about how life repeats but is never exactly the same. The track felt domestic to me, so I wanted to examine everyday things in a repetitive frame work.”
Watch the music video for “Taken” on NPR Music Meredith says of the video, “I’ve been a long term fan of Ewan’s work and knew he’d come up with something really special for this track! I love the many angles on the same thing approach throughout the track - really chimes in with how a lot of my music works.”
The follow-up to 2012’s Black Prince Fury EP, and 2013’s Jet Black Raider EP, Meredith’s debut full length Varmints is held together by her expert understanding of dynamics. “Pacing is a physical thing,” she explains. “I can feel when stuff has to happen in a track. I knew I wanted Varmints to end privately but start confidently, have moments of privacy and moments of power and build. I love writing a build - my friends talk about ‘the Meredith Build’! I love the feeling of ‘get on board, we’re building up now!’ Even if you’re dancing at a club, there’s an amazing transparency to a build. When somebody is creating anticipation, it’s a very communal experience and I don’t like hiding those structures.”
Aside from sharing bills with Anna Calvi, James Blake and These New Puritans, Meredith’s dizzying CV includes being Composer in Residence for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, a piece written for MRI scanner, soundtracking PRADA’s Spring/Summer 2015 campaign, symphonies created for nursery children, music for park benches in Hong Kong and sleep-pods in Singapore. Recent performances at the BBC Proms have included collaborations with Laura Marling and The Stranglers for the first 6Music Prom, a performance of her body-percussion piece ‘Connect It’ from the BBC Ten Pieces project and her Last Night of the Proms composition ‘Froms’ was simultaneously performed by five symphony orchestras across the UK, was broadcast to an audience of 40 million people
Anna Meredith’s debut LP Varmints is due for release on March 4th, 2016 via Moshi Moshi.

The Chicago based indie electronic trio  My Gold Mask  will be releasing their upcoming album, Anxious Utopia  on March 4th, 2016 via Moon Sounds RecordsAnxious Utopia is the band's first release since 2013's  Leave Me Midnight , but their ability to create exhilarating pop songs with dazzling guitar riffs, pulsing synths and a driving beat all wrapped up in Gretta Rochelle's sparkling vocals will have you nostalgic for the days when kids used to actually dance at indie rock shows. Though this record is definitely high energy, it's really all about the struggles and anxiety that come along with being an artist or creative in an era of socially advocated technological interconnectedness, a topic Gretta has much personal experience with and is happy to discuss.

My Gold Mask will be hosting an album release show at  Lincoln Hall in Chicago  on March 5th and will soon be announcing multiple dates in Austin as an  Official SXSW Showcasing artist . Please feel free to get in touch with all artist inquiries and interview requests as well as requests for physical copies of the CD or pre-order links. MY GOLD MASK Photo Cred: Jason Creps
