EAGULLS SHARE NEW SONG "SKIPPING"
ANNOUNCE MAY 9TH NEW YORK RECORD RELEASE SHOW AT ROUGH TRADE
ULLAGES DUE MAY 13TH VIA PARTISAN RECORDS
STREAM: "Skipping" - https://soundcloud.com/partisan-records/eagulls-skipping
After recently detailing their forthcoming sophomore album Ullages, Leeds' Eagulls are back today to offer one more song from the record. Where recent track "My Life In Rewind" showcased the album's most nuanced aspects -- in all its beautiful textured, near 6 minute glory -- new song "Skipping" demonstrates the album's anthemic side with its Wire-like guitars and soaring chorus. Beyond its inclusion on the band's upcoming album, "Skipping" will be available as a free, limited edition flexidisc when Ullages is pre-ordered from the Partisan Records web store.
The band are releasing "Skipping" today alongside the announcement that they will be playing a New York record release show for Ullages on May 9th at Brooklyn's Rough Trade.

JULIANNA BARWICK Announces New Album WILL, Out May 6th on Dead Oceans & Worldwide Tour
JULIANNA BARWICK Announces New Album WILL, Out May 6th on Dead Oceans & Worldwide Tour

Preorder Will on CD, LP, and limited-edition Bundle: http://smarturl.it/jbarwick
May 6th sees the release of Will , the revelatory third full-length album by Brooklyn experimental artist Julianna Barwick. Conceived and self-produced over the past year in a variety of locations, the ominous, compelling Will is a departure from 2013's Alex Somers-produced Nepenthe. If that last record conjured images of gentle, thick fog rolling over desolate mountains, then Will is a late afternoon thunderstorm, a cathartic collision of sharp and soft textures that sounds looming and restorative all at once.
Barwick's life over the past several years has largely been lived in transit, and as such the genesis of Will was not beholden to location; Barwick worked on the album in a variety of locales, from a desolate house in upstate New York to the Moog Factory in Asheville, North Carolina to Lisbon, Portugal.
"I love touring, but it can be a wild ride," Barwick reflects on this cycle of constant motion. "You're constantly adjusting, assimilating, and finding yourself in life-changing situations." Those experiences played into and helped shape Will's charged, unstable atmosphere: "I knew I'd be playing these songs live, so I wanted some movement," she explains. "Something that had rhythm and low-end."
That sense of forward propulsion is largely owed to Will's synth-heavy textures. The electric current that runs through the album takes on various shapes of intoxicating instability. Featuring contributions from Thomas Arsenault (Mas Ysa), Dutch cellist Maarten Vos and percussionist,Jamie Ingalls (Chairlift, Tanlines, Beverly), Will is largely a product of ups and downs, a reflection of a life lived somewhere in between transience and standing still. "While making this record, there were moments of isolation and dark currents," Barwick admits. "I like exploring that, and I love when I come across songs that sound scary or ominous. I've always been curious about what goes into making a song that way." The beguiling, beautifully complicated Will is the result of that curiosity, and proof of Barwick's irresistibly engaging talent as a composer and vocalist.
Will comes off of Barwick's busiest period in her career, following the release of Nepenthe—a spate of activity that included playing piano for Yoko Ono, performing at Carnegie Hall at the annual Tibet House concert with the Flaming Lips and Philip Glass, The Rosabi EP and beer created in conjunction with brewing company Dogfish Head, and a re-imagining of Bach's "Adagio" from Concerto In D Minor.

Watch the Derrick Belcham-directed video for debut single, "Nebula" which was filmed in the Philip Johnson Glass House and presents the essence of Will and Julianna Barwick's richly complex musical fabric.

Lift to Experience Announces First Show In 15 Years, Reissue Forthcoming
LIFT TO EXPERIENCEANNOUNCES FIRST SHOW IN 15 YEARS atGUY GARVEY’S MELTDOWNJUNE 10 - ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, LONDON
Photo credit: Breanne TrammellJosh T. Pearson’s Lift To Experience has announced their first show in 15 years headlining the Royal Festival Hall in London on Friday, June 10, as part of Guy Garvey’s Meltdown Festival.
The legendary cult band comprising Josh T. Pearson, Andy “The Boy” Young and Josh “The Bear” Browning will reunite for an exclusive one-off show.
Lift To Experience will also mark the 15th anniversary of the release of their seminal double concept album, The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads with the definitive re-release of this work of breath-taking ambition and divine inspiration, later in the year via Mute.
Lift To Experience formed in Denton, Texas, at the end of the last millennium. Their rise was fast and their reign was short; following the release of their long-form masterpiece, the band imploded at the peak of their career due to a series of cruel tragedies. In this short time, however, the band achieved high critical acclaim and were so beloved by John Peel, that he invited them to record three Peel sessions in just five months and were included in the Best 125 Peel Sessions of all time.
Listen to ‘Falling From Cloud 9’ (Peel Session) here: https://youtu.be/GaojlvJLnns
After the group disbanded, the legend of their thunderous live shows and sole record has only grown. A cult recording that still possesses a mystical power in an era when such things seem to have fallen away. The purity of Pearson’s vision, and the passion with which the band executed it, still electrifies and still moves. It was, Pearson says, “a lot of blood, sweat and tears”.
Talking about June’s Royal Festival Hall show, Josh T. Pearson admits, “We’re scared. We want it to be as good as it was. Five years ago I realized, there’s no better bands out there. There might be bands as good – I can think of maybe five of them I’d put up with us – but Lift To Experience was as good as it gets. The three of us didn’t want to be in any other band if it wasn’t as good as that. We’d rather burn that shit to the ground than have it not be pure. We haven’t been in the same room together for some years,” he says cautiously. “But we’d like it to be a celebration.”

NEW LIVE DATES ANNOUNCED
WATCH ALBUM TRAILER HERE
Simply put, the whole thing sounds fucking colossal ~ Pitchfork

Today they announce details of their debut album, Spiritual Songs For Lovers To Sing , out May 6, 2016 onMute, available to pre-order from tomorrow. The album was produced on the remote island of Osea by The Haxan Cloak (known for his own genre-bending experimental compositions and work on Björk’s Vulnicuraalbum).
Watch the album trailer here: http://smarturl.it/LUHprologue
LUH (which stands for Lost Under Heaven) is Ellery Roberts and Ebony Hoorn. Over the past two years, they have been releasing music, art, photography, film and manifestos into the world, including 2014’s ‘Unites’ video and the expansive ‘Lost Under Heaven’ music and artwork package at the end of last year.
Ellery’s name might be familiar as the frontman of WU LYF, whose raw and primal voice helped create a sound that shaped a new model for the untamed fury of youth. Ebony is an audio-visual artist based in Amsterdam (where the pair now live) and co-directed the new video for ‘I&I’ with Florian Joahn.
Following a successful run of shows across Europe in February and March, LUH have now announced new live dates, including Chicago’s Pitchfork Festival in July. Full details below; tickets are on sale Wednesday, March 9, at 10am.

Japanese punk-metal quartet SUZISUZI (featuring ex-Yellow Machinegun and Abnormalsmembers) premiere the title track from their forthcoming debut album Scream Addict (Pure Evil label) today via Echoes & Dust. The song "Scream Addict" features, not surprisingly, dual screaming vocalists over fast & fun metallic punk: hear and share HERE. (Direct Soundcloud). SUZISUZI ("suzi" in Japanese means "vein") formed after 2 bands -- Yellow Machinegun and Abnormals -- met 15 years ago and became good friends. Yellow Machinegun was an all-girl band that debuted in 1996 in Osaka, Japan. They made a huge impact with their screaming vocal styles, not only in Japan but also among the international hardcore/metal scene, leading to tours with Slayer, Motorhead and S.O.D. (with whom they also released a split album.)
Abnormals are from Tokyo, Japan and have been attracting punk fans with their dark view of the world since the late 1980s.
Through a chance encounter, the two bands collaborated together to release a split album in 2000, followed by a tour throughout Japan. Since then, the members of Yellow Machinegun and Abnormals have become good friends, and eventually created SUZISUZI.
Abnormals guitarist IxSxO and drummer Murochin asked Yellow Machinegun bassist/vocalist Kaori to start the band together when her band announced a short break. IxSxO was keen to use a girl's name for their band, and Kaori liked the sound of "Susie". Murochin suggested the word "SUZI" (meaning "vein" in Japanese) after the veins that appears on their necks when the band members scream. Thus, SUZISUZI was born.
In 2011, SUZISUZI did their first gig in Tokyo and decided to add another female vocal. Kaori called and asked K♠ of the Pure Evil record label to join. She is an old friend of Kaori's who has helped her out with lyrics over the years. The full 4-piece band's debut was in Tokyo in May 2015 and shocked fans... in good way.
After 7 years of playing together, SUZISUZI finally releases their debut album this year. Scream Addict will be available on CD and download on March 11th, 2016.
