EXSAGE SET TO OPEN FOR JULIETTE LEWIS SHOW TOMORROW
DEBUT EP 'OUT OF THE BLUE' OUT SEPTEMBER 30TH
LISTEN & SHARE: ExSage - "Tripwire"
WATCH & SHARE: ExSage - Can You Feel It Coming (Album Teaser)
"Comparisons to bands like The Kills and The Raveonettes are inevitable, but the five-song EP injects those garage bones with engine oil-sludgy desert rock guitars, [Kate] Clover's big, almost-pop vocals, and a touch of Nick Cave ominousness." - Noisey ExSage opened for Juliette Lewis at Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City last Saturday, and they'll open for her again at Livewire in Phoenix, tomorrow Wednesday September 7th.
The band recently premiered the first single "Tripwire" off of their upcoming EP 'Out of the Blue,' via NOISEY. They also shared the EP trailer.
Fanatics have their dreams where they weave their own paradise, like a desert mirage that exists solely in your mind. ExSage sings of elusive truth and the tension it creates - love and hate, pain and ecstasy. The balance we walk that makes us divine or evil.
There’s nothing quite like being in the desert. It is an inimitable feeling when the heavy heat of day submits to the piercing cold of night. The setting sun bruises the sky as it strikes the horizon and sinks, stripping the gilding from the sand and exposing the cold faces of the stars. High noon and the witching hour are equally captivating; both are unnerving, both are electrifying. Night condenses and expands and hundreds of unblinking eyes emerge, gaping.
The desert demands transformation. What thrives there is thorned. What survives slinks between shadows. To exist there is to withstand its vastness—an act of defiance. For thousands of years, it has tested us, summoned us to solitude to confront ourselves. Both Tim Foley and Kate Clover heeded this call. Beneath a storm-stained sky thick with anticipation, the former flames found themselves reunited. As lighting scarred the sand, they resolved to sonically sublimate its essence. ExSage emerged from the eye of this storm.
ExSage recorded their debut EP in Los Angeles with producer Alain Johannes (Mark Lanegan, Them Crooked Vultures, Brody Dalle, Queens of the Stone age), which will be released worldwide on September 30th.

Frankie Cosmos Extends World Tour, Releases New Video
FRANKIE COSMOS EXTENDS WORLD TOUR
RELEASES VIDEO FOR "YOUNG"
NEXT THING OUT NOW ON BAYONET RECORDS
Photo Credit: Matthew James-WilsonFrankie Cosmos is continuing her never ending world tour, Greta Kline and the band are currently in Europe playing shows from the critically acclaimed Next Thing which was released earlier this year on Bayonet Records.
Kline and co have also announced they are extending their North American tour, they'll be hitting the road with Big Thief and Vagabond including a special homecoming show at Webster Hall. All tour dates are listed below.
Watch the video for "Young"
Frankie Cosmos is also offering another video from the LP this time for the video for "Young". Made by Eliza Doyle and features mother & daughter actresses, Bambi Marangio-Pitts & Kendelle Rose-Pitts, who have worked with Eliza on other projects. There's also a cameo of Kline's friend Zazie. Kline tells us "The video is about Star Quality in its various forms - and how it translates from person to person, generation to generation".
Acclaim for Next Thing:
"Next Thing shows that as the group continues to grow up, Kline's clear-eyed observation and youthful disaffection only feel more vital." Rolling Stone
"Frankie Cosmos, led by singer Greta Kline, makes wonderfully light, breezy, sweet songs that are just delightful." NPR
"Frankie Cosmos manages to be both devastating and uplifting. The young indie musician's greatest talents lie in her lyrics; she's a wordsmith who's brevity hints at suppressed emotions beneath the surface...Next Thing is a gem that speaks to the soul." BUST
"Kline has created a perfectly insular work, one whose songs display a newfound textual richness while retaining their unkempt edges." Under The Radar
"Kline recalls the legible confessionals of Colleen Green or Kimya Dawson and the bright-eyed melancholy of Beat Happening or Cub, all while building from her greatest strength: being immediately and deliberately herself." SPIN
"This patchwork of tracks makes for an album that doesn't have much of a thematic through-line beyond the anxiety-ridden adolescence that Kline's songwriting naturally gravitates towards, but it does result in 15 songs worth of the sharpest, most accomplished Frankie Cosmos material to date." Stereogum
"On Next Thing, Frankie Cosmos stands tall as an individual in a sea of bland lo-fi dudes, unfolding 15 songs in the palms of her hands that are endlessly re-playable." Consequence of Sound

Nick Waterhouse feat. Leon Bridges- "Katchi" Single & Music Video
NICK WATERHOUSE AND LEON BRIDGES DUET ON "KATCHI" - OFF WATERHOUSE'S FORTHCOMING NEVER TWICEOUT SEPTEMBER 30TH ON INNOVATIVE LEISURE
MUSIC VIDEO FOR "OLD PLACE" OUT TODAY!

LISTEN TO "KATCHI" HERE - CLEARED TO POST
On September 30th, Nick Waterhouse will return with his third full-length studio album,Never Twice. Yesterday, Waterhouse unveiled the track "Katchi" off of the upcoming album. The track features his pal Leon Bridges and riffs on Bridges' family name for a massage - "Katchi." "Leon and I were in Fort Worth hanging out at a friend's place getting massages. He was laying on the table while I strummed the chords, bare chested, he shouted out "she give me KATCHI!"... His mother's old Louisiana Indian term for 'loving touch'. We rode it out and next thing we know we had a straight cruiser," Waterhouse told The Fader.
Today, via Flood, Waterhouse has also unveiled his sweaty grooving video for "Old Place," made up of clips of him performing live earlier this year. The clips were directed by Emma Pollard.
Watch the video here:
Never Twice will be released via Innovative Leisure digitally, on CD and 180 gram vinyl. He will head out on a fall U.S. Tour starting on September 24th. Highlights include Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on October 8th, The Bottom Lounge in Chicago on October 4th and The Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington DC on October 12th. More tour dates to be announced.
With Never Twice, Nick Waterhouse returned to his original collaborator, producer Michael McHugh (Black Lips, Ty Segall, Allah-Las). McHugh was a local legend in the oft-underrated Orange County music scene that Nick grew up in. McHugh was the first person to ever put Nick on tape and in an effort to re-capture the vibrancy of the Huntington Beach scene of Nick's youth, he invited McHugh up to his current home of San Francisco to work the boards once again. Once he had McHugh on board, Nick began cold-calling his favorite players, all of whom miraculously said yes. Jazz musician Bob Kenmotsu's contributed flute, Tom Waits and Elvis Costello collaborator Ralph Carney on sax, Dr. Lonnie Smith protege Will Blades on Organ and a virtual whose who of muso legends on horns, bass and guitar. The result is an exuberant and impeccably recorded album of songs, showcasing Waterhouse's prowess as a musician and a band-leader.
PRAISE FOR NICK WATERHOUSE
"The verses are built on the feet-shuffling groove of jazzy drums and keys as Waterhouse bewails his life's stagnation ... He refuses to sit still for long, however, as the funky refrain kicks everything into fifth gear with driving guitar riffs that bring to mind classic rhythm and blues bandstands, all decked in golds and blacks and blues." - Consequence of Sound
"Swoony vocals that recall jazz singers like Cab Calloway and Jack Jones, Waterhouse has been hailed as the second coming of soul, infusing a distinctly California surf-rock spin to the genre.'- VOGUE"Waterhouse's show of intensity arrived through an incendiary combo of momentum-building saxophones...riding a grand, Spector-esque wave, punctuated with start-and-stop pacing, a love of musical space and Waterhouse's utilitarian voice singing structured three-minute rockers." - Los Angeles Times
"Waterhouse straddles the line between rock grit and smooth, sultry R&B. It's sexy, it's smart, and it's definitely worth another round in a bar in the middle of a dark and stormy night."- Esquire
