Charles Bradley 1948-2017 RIP
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Bradley.
Always a fighter, Charles battled cancer with everything he had. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2016 and underwent treatment. Bradley headed out on the road earlier this year after receiving a clean bill of health but the cancer recently returned, spreading to his liver.
Born on November 5, 1948 in Gainesville, FL, Charles then moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 8. He lived across the country throughout his life including Maine, Alaska and two decades in the Bay Area before returning to New York City, his home for the last 20 years. Bradley passed away in Brooklyn on September 23, 2017, surrounded by family and friends including members of the bands he worked closely with:Menahan Street Band, His Extraordinaires, Budos Band and the Jimmy Hill Allstarz--his band from his time performing as Black Velvet.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following organizations:- All-Stars Project: https://allstars.org - Music Unites: http://www.musicunites.org
Thank you for your prayers during this difficult time. Mr. Bradley was truly grateful for all the love hes received from his fans and we hope his message of love is remembered and carried on.
Bradleys dynamic and heartfelt live performances won over crowds across the world. He released his first album No Time For Dreaming (2011) at the age of 62, and Victim of Love in 2013. His third album Changeswas released in 2016 to wide critical praise and performed on national television shows including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan and CBS This Morning: Saturday—a performance that led to an Emmy nomination for Outstanding On-Camera Musical Performance in a Daytime Program.

Direct from the Parisian overground, French pop connoisseurs La Femme released their new album Mystère worldwide last September. Hailing from Le Pré Saint Gervais and Ivry-sur-Seine’s winding streets, La Femme have made a huge mark on modern Paris's cultural landscape, with the two sides of the city – the glamour and the grit – engrained in their music. Mystère reached the second place of the French digital charts, the 8th place of the overall French charts, and was nominated for Best Rock Album at the French Music Awards 2017. Ever since the release of their debut album Psycho Tropical Berlin, that topped the French digital charts and saw the band appear on national television as the Best New Band of the year at the French Music Awards, their rise has only gained momentum with fans.
Returning with a more psychedelic sound and a range of guest vocalists that slice through the starkest of electro beats, Mystère sees La Femme celebrating all that’s wonderful about their city. From the chattering tête-à-tête heard on "Conversations Nocturnes" that leads into the throbbing disco beat of "SSD" – a direct reference to the pulsing nightlife hotspot and multi-cultural district Strasbourg Saint Denis where the band continue to work and play equally hard.
After supporting Red Hot Chilli Peppers for 12 shows of their Arena Europan tour in October 2016, La Femme will continue spreading their French words with energy, style and passion this Fall throughout the North American Tour.
“Slow down, take it easy, put Mystère on the record player and allow yourself to be taken far away...”they say. Liberté, égalité, fraternité. Everyone can be a part of La Femme’s world – and it has never felt more alive.

New Fischerspooner music

Iconic group Fischerspooner returns with a collection of remixes for their single "Have Fun Tonight" out today. It's "a queer dance ballad about polyamory (...or polyagony) encouraging your lover to go out and have fun without you," says singer Casey Spooner. The collection includes striking remixes by BOOTS, WOLFRAM and Mr. A. Check them out below and share.

September 22, 2017 - Morrissey has revealed a full US tour in support of his new studio album 'Low in High School' (out November 17 on Etienne/BMG). Backed by his full live band, each performance promises to be an intimate evening with Morrissey where he will perform many of his most well known fan favorites as well as new material from 'Low in High School,' including lead single "Spent The Day In Bed." Additionally, on October 20th, a special five LP box set deluxe version of The Smiths' 'The Queen is Dead' will be released to celebrate what is perhaps the band's most iconic album.Full itinerary below and on Morrissey's official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Morrissey/Earlier this month, Morrissey made national headlines surrounding the announcement that he will be making his long awaited return to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday Nov 10. The show sold out almost instantly on the first day of the onsale, and a second date on Saturday Nov 11 has been added. Billy Idol will be the special guest at both engagements. His lyrics, at times blunt and fearless, other times vulnerable and poignant, continue to resonate with listeners around the world with their unmatched emotional depth and theatrical, poetic delivery. After The Smiths, Morrissey achieved greater success as a prolific solo artist. All 10 of his solo albums have entered the Top 10 on the UK album charts, including three entries at No. 1. In 2013, Morrissey published his record-breaking autobiography on Penguin Classics, immediately topping the best-seller list with literary reviewers hailing it a masterpiece in writing and prose. Pitchfork called him "one of the most singular figures in Western popular culture," and the UK's Independent declared, "Most pop stars have to be dead before they reach the iconic status he has reached in his lifetime."

High Waisted unveils two new singles "Free Throw" + "Firebomb" via Billboard
NYC-based rockers High WaistedTo release new split single, “Free Throw” + “Firebomb”Out September 15th via Little Dickman Records

“Each of these 12 tracks is a party unto itself, complete with scuzzy bass, bright vocal harmonies, and enough reverb to fill a decently sized punch bowl.” - Consequence of Sound
“The band’s mastery of 50s era vocals and classic surf guitar will have you dancing in your chair while considering buying tickets to Hawaii.” - Noisey
Listen: High Waisted - “Free Throw” + “Firebomb” - https://soundcloud.com/gethighwaisted/sets/split-7-inch-little-dickmand/s-Msrxu
(Brooklyn, NY) One of the most notorious bands in the NYC underground, rockers High Waisted have made a name for themselves with their wild live shows and Jessica Dye’s (lead vox, guitar) style and feminist swagger. As GQ so succinctly described, “High Waisted is a lot of things: a surf-rock band that throws raucous Lower East Side parties, friends and roommates, a group of people who stay up late and get up early. Their whirlwind energy gets channeled into creating a boisterous atmosphere just as much as into the music.”
With a Tad Kubler (The Hold Steady) produced sophomore album in the works for Spring 2018, the band rounded out by Jono Bernstein (drums) Richey Rose (bass) and Stephen Neilsen (guitar / vox) will be road testing hard this fall with a new split single in tow.
“Free Throw” and “Firebomb” will see release on September 15th as part of a split with The Coax via Little Dickman Records.
The two singles tease a blazing path forward for High Waisted, moving towards a fuller sound with Arun Bali of Saves the Day handling mixing duties.
Look for “Free Throw” and “Firebomb” out September 15th via Little Dickman Records and be sure to follow High Waisted on any of their social channels detailed below.

Debuting today on NME, the September 22nd release is fitting as the date marks the 40th Anniversary of the original release of “Heroes.” The visual, directed by Tim Saccenti, features Depeche Mode in an intimate studio setting and is one of the stripped-back performance films Saccenti made during the recording of ‘Spirit’ in 2016.
