LISTEN TO A CERTAIN RATIO’S REWORKING OF BARRY ADAMSON'S 'I GOT CLOTHES'ON BROOKLYN VEGAN FROM THE FORTHCOMING 'LOVE SICK DICK REMIXED' EP OUT NOVEMBER 24TH
PRE-ORDER
US SHOWS IN 2018
BARRY ADAMSON has announced details of a brand new EP, ‘
Love Sick Dick Remixed
’, out on vinyl and download onNovember 24 and has shared the first track, a reworking of ‘I Got Clothes’ by Manchester’s A Certain Ratio on Brooklyn Vegan. A Certain Ratio went into the studio and recorded the song live, explaining “We’ve always liked Barry’s music and were honoured when we were asked to work with him. We didn’t want to do it like a typical remix, but more of a collaboration. We approached it as if we were writing an ACR track from scratch and built on a groove playing everything live then chopped Barry’s vocal for the verses and the female scatting vocals for the choruses. We added drums, bass, guitar, trumpet, keyboards, vocals, percussion, Roland 303 and vocoder and are really pleased with the outcome. The end section is typical ACR where it takes off and goes somewhere else. We haven’t worked out where that somewhere else is yet but we have been trying to get there for ages and love searching for it.” The new EP features remixes and reworkings from Gazelle Twin, Ben de Vries (Lunacre), ADULT., Jimi Tenor andWheel, who have all tackled tracks from Adamson’s recent EP - Love Sick Dick, which was released earlier this year. They will be released digitally over the next few weeks, up until the EP release on November 24th.
Barry Adamson will be talking at two events in London next month. In the first, he’ll take part in a talk following the Royal Albert Hall’s 20th anniversary screening of David Lynch’s classic noir,
Lost Highway
, which Adamson contributed music to. And on October 9, he will be at Wilton’s Music Hall for a live storytelling event, which will see Adamson talk about a track that has changed his life, alongside the poet Murray Lachlan Young, music manager Simon Napier-Bell and more. US live dates are being planned for next year. Forthcoming UK events:Oct 1: Lost Highway screening and talk, Royal Albert HallOct 9:One Track Minds at Wiltons Music Hall Barry Adamson has been creating all of his life. Perhaps his greatest creation is himself as a multi-disciplined artist. The self-taught musician rose to prominence as the bass player in Magazine and toured extensively. His establishment as a solo artist came after a three year stint with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and heralded the release of his seminal first solo album, ‘Moss Side Story’. Critically acclaimed, it raised Adamson’s name as a composer of diverse complexity; able to tell a story with music, where the images were those supplanted in the minds of the listeners. Offers quickly followed and saw Adamson work with some of the film industry’s most intriguing mavericks including Derek Jarman, David Lynch, Oliver Stone and Danny Boyle. Having released nine studio albums, including the 1992 Mercury Music Prize nominated ‘Soul Murder’, Adamson has continued to tour globally with his talents being in as much demand by new generations of artists, as he was after his first solo release. He is constantly sought across all art forms for commentary and contribution. His music being both the platform and background for documentaries, TV series, adverts, computer games and even an Olivier Award winning ballet performance by Sylvie Guillem and the Ballet Boyz. It was always a logical progression for Adamson to move behind the camera and once again his brooding film noir style and dark comedy has seen him write, direct and score a number of short films, including ‘The Swing The Hole and The Lie’’ (2014). Rising phoenix like from the flames of his previous work, Adamson continues to push himself and blur the lines of film, music and art. Musician, composer, writer, photographer, filmmaker. Barry Adamson is not a man to take it easy. www.barryadamson.comwww.twitter.com/adamsonbarrywww.facebook.com/adamsonbarrywww.instagram.com/adamsonbarry/

Bursting bubbles of perception, drilling dynamite into cracks between past and present and painting a daring portrait of the artist as a free man, Who Built The Moon? gathers vocalists and guest musicians from around the world to breathe life into 11-tracks finely poised between experimental and a jukebox of ageless influence. Meeting to work in Belfast and London, Gallagher and Holmes tuned into French psychedelic pop as much as classic electro, soul, rock, disco and dance on a cultured adventure into recorded sound.
If tracks blipping with ethereal, electronic experimentation and French spoken word start rumors of Gallagher’s restlessness, then instrumentals drifting with a latent, melancholic energy, inspired by European television soundtracks confirm them. Setting fire to familiarity, Gallagher wrote entirely in the studio for the first time, leaping into laboratory conditions and a cut and paste adventure with Holmes, turning his back, at least temporarily, on studied solitude and six strings. The studio door was left open for Paul Weller (organ on Holy Mountain) and Johnny Marr (guitar and harmonica on If Love Is The Law) to not only bear witness to, but make a mark on a pivotal moment in Gallagher’s ten studio album career.
David Holmes, Producer of Who Built The Moon? says: “People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, up-tempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is fun.”
How would Gallagher respond to control room commands to: “Stop ‘playing’ guitar!” and “Play me a guitar solo you can dance to!”? Secure in the knowledge that the man challenging him had a vision to match his undimmed ambition, he entered the same, inventive space. The Man Who Built The Mooncrystallizes an outsider’s view of the partnership, flooded with lush orchestration and a sense of looming drama. It is the sound of an experienced songwriter supported by an accomplice similarly striving meticulously for perfection, as Gallagher reveals:
“We took a keyboard riff we liked from an unused track and added chords. A year later we came to deal with it as a song and when we got to the chorus, David kept asking me to write a new one….again and again and again. I was ready to strangle him. The one that you hear is the eighth attempt and, you know what? The annoying thing is he was right.”
On blue-touch-paper track, Fort Knox, barely a note is sung by Gallagher, instead toying with euphoric incantations, while It’s A Beautiful World bubbles with progressive, ambient electronica. Black & White Sunshine’s 60s, psychedelic pop DNA canvases for more traditionalist votes while Holy Mountain is a game of ‘spot the obscure sample’ amidst a joyous wall of sound. Symptomatic of the unhurried back and forth between him and Holmes, Gallagher says of the latter track:
“David played me the sample, so I worked out the chords and we demoed just a few, short minutes of it, taking it away on tour and playing with it. When it became a song back in Belfast it was so joyous, I just had to do it justice. What’s more joyous than being in love, baby? So, I wrote a song about love and it’s one of the best things that I’ve ever done.”

INSIDE PUSSY RIOT -- IMMERSIVE POLITICAL THEATRE AT LONDON'S SAATCHI GALLERY 11.14-12.24.

From Les Enfants Terribles theatre company, the creators of Olivier nominated immersive smash hit Alice’s Adventures Underground, comes Inside Pussy Riot - a story that needs to be experienced to be understood. Coinciding with the Saatchi Gallery's Art Riot: Post Soviet Actionismexhibition and presented in association with The Tsukanov Family Foundation, Inside Pussy Riot is an immersive experience, about Nadya Tolokonnikova‘s tribulations as the founder of Pussy Riot, the post punk, feminist art collective who stuck two fingers up at the Russian system and suffered the consequences. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, audiences are encouraged to pull on the balaclava and stand up for what they believe in. Stand in the dock as Pussy Riot and live the realities of incarceration through this exhilarating theatre experience. Would you sacrifice everything for the sake of a punk prayer for a freer world? The immersive world of Inside Pussy Riot seeks to remind audiences what actually happened and how one's basic human rights and freedom of expression can be taken away at any point. Nadya Tolokonnikova comments, Inside Pussy Riot shows you what prison, prosecution of political activists and police oppression looks like. It also reminds you what democracy, on the contrary, looks like. And when I say ‘democracy’, I mean real democracy, which is about direct participation of citizens. Inside Pussy Riot plunges you into the totality of an authoritarian system - if you do not choose real democracy and participation, authoritarianism chooses you. Writer and Artistic Director of Les Enfants Terribles Oliver Lansley comments, We're so excited to be collaborating with Pussy Riot on this experience. Our plan is to provoke, challenge and make our audiences understand the experience Pussy Riot went through whilst also encouraging them to ask important questions about their own beliefs and what they might do if they found themselves in a similar situation. Freedom of speech is one of the most important contemporary values we have and one we often take for granted. Co-producer Alexandrina Markvo (Bird&Carrot) comments, The story of Pussy Riot exemplifies the fight for freedom of speech and expression in an authoritarian society. It is a story that needs to be told today. While the setting for the show is Russia, this situation is all too familiar in many countries today. I hope this blisteringly political production will also serve as a powerful reminder to citizens of democratic countries to cherish and defend their freedoms. I am very excited as a producer to bring this immersive performance to the London audience in one of Europe’s leading art spaces- Saatchi Gallery. On 17th August 2012, Pussy Riot’s Tolokonnikova was prosecuted for performing 35 seconds of a song called Virgin Mary Put Putin Away – a direct attack on the Russian Orthodox Church's unequivocal support for Vladimir Putin – inside Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. She was convicted of ‘hooliganism motivated by religious hatred’ and was sentenced to two years of imprisonment, where she was faced with solitary confinement and humiliation, including regular forced gynaecological examinations. With heightened theatricality, the production exposes the horrors of Pussy Riot’s experience, and shows that what happened to them can happen to anyone. We are all Pussy Riot.

CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE Announces 2018 Tour for North America and Europe

CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIEANNOUNCES 2018 TOURFOR EUROPE AND NORTH AMERICA#CdB2018
'What might a David Bowie 2018 tour set list consist of?' "The shows had a magic because our intent was to celebrate David with as much love and respect as we could. So many lovely artists from all around the globe contributed and I loved all seven shows as each musician and artist brought their own way of self expression." - Mike Garson, 2017 After performing rapturously received and critically lauded shows earlier this year,Celebrating David Bowie is back for a 2018 tour throughout Europe and North America with a brand new Bowie show spanning his entire career asking the question, 'What might a David Bowie 2018 tour set list consist of?' See the full list of tour dates below. VIP tickets will go on sale Tuesday, September 26with the general on sale starting Friday, September 29 at 10am local time; go to www.celebratingdavidbowie.com for more information. View the trailer here:http://tiny.cc/CdB2018Announce. More than just a mere salute, Celebrating David Bowie keeps David's music alive with musicians who worked closely with him throughout his career and other top musicians greatly influenced by him. Legendary Bowie touring and recording keyboardist Mike Garson, who collaborated with Bowie for longer than any other player, will be heading up the band along with previous Bowie band leaders, guitarist/vocalist Adrian Belew(Sound & Vision Tour) and guitarist Gerry Leonard (A Reality Tour). Between them, Mike, Adrian and Gerry have over 30 years experience of recording, writing and playing live with Bowie. Joining Mike, Adrian and Gerry will be Bowie's Let's Dance/Serious Moonlight Tour bassist Carmine Rojas as well as CdB 2017 standouts Fishbone'sAngelo Moore and 2017 Grammy Nominee Gaby Moreno as well as special guests and other former Bowie band members who will make surprise appearances along the way. CdB creator and producer Angelo Bundini (aka guitarist Scrote) is also back and excited about the concept for the new show. "After the last tour, I didn't really imagine playing more shows because it was insanely difficult to pull off. David's last tour was in 2004, so I began to wonder what he might do if he were to tour again today. That's what we're presenting in 2018." The large rotating ensemble with world class multi-instrumentalists changing song to song will perform a show highlighting elements that influenced Bowie and that in turn Bowie influenced: pop culture experimentation, art, fashion, science and futurism. "I have worked with over 1000 singers but never anyone like David," sharesMike Garson. "He had an infinite source of music flowing through him, and his creativity was boundless. His sharing of the stage with his musicians was extraordinary, and he was a team player. That is why we need many singers to encompass his work." "With such a large catalog to choose from, different songs affected us and the audience in varying measure," adds Adrian Belew about the shows earlier this year. "It's always amazing to feel the excitement of an audience beamed directly at you. Pure adrenaline! So much love for David." Fishbone's Angelo Moore recalls: "One of the things that stuck out while abroad was our group visit to the David Bowie Is... exhibit in Tokyo and how they cover so much of his life, music, fashion, and creative processes. I'm excited we will be doing more of his unique aesthetic in our upcoming shows." Gaby Moreno says: "It was an incredible and emotional ride for me. Sharing the stage with some of the most brilliant musicians, playing these iconic songs from one of the best artists this world gave us, is something quite unlike anything else I've ever experienced." Previous special guests on CdB shows have included: Sting, Gary Oldman, Seal, Perry Farrell, The B-52's' Kate Pierson, Ewan McGregor, Simon Le Bon, Gavin Rossdale, La Roux, Joe Elliott, Mr Hudson, Gail Ann Dorsey, Spandau Ballet's Steve Norman, Corey Taylor, Ian Astbury, Darren Criss, Tony Hadley, Living Colour, The London Community Gospel Choir, and The Harlem Gospel Choir, among many others.

Out today via Arts & Crafts, Fool’s Paradise is Ladan Hussein’s most personal work yet, intimately exploring her identity as a Somali-Canadian woman. Known on stage as Cold Specks, the new album encapsulates the naturalness of existing during difficult times. Hussein recently learned about her family’s former life in Somalia. During the writing process, she dug deep into grainy VHS recordings found online of Somali musicians, songs and videos that had survived war. The album has received acclaim from The New York Times, Indie Shuffle, Consequence of Sound, SPIN, Stereogum, W Magazine, FADER and many more. Today she reveals the new video for album single “Wild Card” , directed by Mac Boucher (Grimes, Tei Shi, HANA), alongside a feature with FADER .
