Would you borrow a cat you could keep only for two nights and three days?? Wouldn't that be hard on the cat?? All of those strange homes and strange people? I never read anything like this so I am very curious what effect the cats will have on people..

I am making progress on this and ready to start part 3: Russia. Part two really had dragged badly for me. I hope part 3 might be better.

Well this has started out very interesting and the main character, Wren, lives on a cattle ranch! She has an appaloosa mare named Kelly. And she's an excellent shot with a rifle too.

I wonder if they will ever get out of that ancient caldera?? I know it's a state park and all but it just sounds so stupid to go into a caldera! It's shaped like a big bowl and you can't get out. And now they still trapped with fastly dwindling numbers, because of those worms! Don't go inside volcano calderas!

Me: no if it were a movie they'd be called pre-cambrian life form. Who else remembers the town of Perfection Nevada??

I just had a horrid thought about what is going on in this story... A scary possibility. 😮 I shall have to read farther to see if I am right or not.

Enjoying this on a rainy day. These characters are in full blown panic mode and they're not thinking clearly. The missing kid only makes it worse. I predict things will only get worse. But it's a very bad idea to be inside the bowl of a volcanic caldera even if it is a park! And I can think of a possible solution already... Have suspicions.

I am on the second part of this book now, about Agent Josephine.

Well there are a lot of things in here I can't relate to at all and a few small things that I can. But the majority is definitely the things I can't relate to. I really didn't expect that when I had picked this up.

This King Kong seems to be a double or even a triple agent. So who is he really working for then?! Or is he just collecting money from both sides? He seemed to enjoy a party lifestyle too. I have to admit I am very unfamiliar with spys and how they do stuff so...

This just seems SO wrong!! Betraying over 200 people just to save one brother. There is something seriously wrong with that.

Uh oh... This is not sounding good! I think a huge conflict is coming unless some miracle happens. ....

Wow... I can actually relate to this a bit about all of the noise! Now that is something I didn't expect in a sci-fi story.

So I started this very late last night and read a bit before I went to sleep. It was about hiking in the wilderness and creepy stuff. It definitely sounds like my type of book! And the back cover mentioned a volcanic caldera too: bonus!

The term you are looking for, Briar, is "rescue"....

This is quite the unusual but yet interesting story. It's somewhat dark, a dark future of AI and the poor uneducated doing awful dangerous jobs with no protection.

I am unsure what to think about this one at the moment. A lot of things are not explained. Like how is Leif related to the kids? What are the kids' ages?? Their ages really matter as it can change the story. But it's all unknown. I am hoping further on some of the stuff will be stated clearly.

This story just gets better and better. The author is just so good at writing aliens that seem alien. And now a new threat has popped up / been mentioned. But the two characters are in such a horrible mess I don't see how they could possibly get out of it.

The perspective of the alien in here is absolutely fascinating!!

I wonder how they are supposed to know this Fibonacci sequence when even I don't know it. I presume that is something the average person doesn't know and they are probably dealing with the "average creature" here. Or alien I should say. But this story is fun to read + the main character definitely has some anxiety going on.

Wow... Utter disaster!! This book has suddenly woke up! And the fight for survival will start!

Well this story just got a tad more intriguing....
It's a tad slow so far yet oddly easy to read?

I have to question the intelligence of these people. They want to send a manned mission to this poisonous atmosphere planet... Ummm... Why? You can't live there. The air is ammonia. The gravity is almost twice of Earth. Probes keep getting destroyed. So let's send a manned mission!

Why am I not surprised? Hopefully this will be good. For some unknown reason I feel this might be a quick read?? And it's been awhile since I read a Tchaikovsky book.

So this bit of the book is utterly fascinating. Finally someone is discussing why these racehorses have these leg issues, breaking bones.. when I read the bit at the very beginning I was wondering about nutrition but I see here it's more complicated than that. The "mushy bones" seems to be genetic? It's a double edged sword. Speed and weak bones. Plus many made pain relief.

So the beginning of this one made me all wet eyed. I know the story of Barbaro but Ruffian is new to me. Poor filly. I had no idea that Belmont has graves in the middle of the track... I try to read at least one horse book each week and this is one of them. I wonder what I will learn about horses from this one?

What an awful father she has!
I sense I am coming near the end of the book... Will there be some huge battles or will that be in the next book? All of the subplots in here about the various characters and the horrible problems they get into have me racing through this. Not to mention it's due at the library tomorrow! But I hope to finish it soon.

Now they are fighting with skraeling.
It's getting late here. I will have to finish this book tomorrow. But I can guess that there will probably be some huge war in the third book.
