Starting another section of this book. I just love these bizarre western stories. The previous one was about the bear-witch! More westerns should be like this!!

What makes him think a rifle will work on these sickle wolves?? Could be a dangerous assumption.

Hmmmmm..... I have some thoughts about this....

I like Everly but sometimes I think she is really stupid. 🙁 She does such dangerous stuff. And as you can guess she is at it again. No doubt the killer will appear any moment too.

Everly really scared poor Grady so much by what she just said that he turned pale as a sheet! 😂😂😂 She sure has some wicked ideas! All in her unending quest to snoop... I guess it's akin to my inability to stay away from huge stacks of library books! The books just look SO tempting. But this story is loads of fun. 😊

I am shocked that anyone can even try on a dress from the Civil War era without it falling apart or something!! Or that it apparently fits Everly. I think her little weight issue is a side affect of running the cafe with all the cakes and sweet tea. Hopefully she'll find a dress she likes but I suspect someone is after her already. For snooping.

So I started to read this earlier during lunch. I found the medical stuff in here to be the most interesting stuff. For one I never heard of ringbone before. And how could a horse with so many ankle problems race?? And then they mention wind puffs - another new medical issue. Always more stuff to learn about horses.

Poor Everly feels bad because she found another dead body and even worse is it's someone she knows! So she thinks the curse must be real. For a small town, there are sure lots of angry hotheaded people in Charm! Must be that sea air or is it all those pennies they were throwing into the water??

This may sound stupid but then going so fast in that wagon over the grass is actually scary, because what if the wheel hits some rock or something and then they'll go flying? I guess they don't think of that but I sure do! But I am enjoying these adventures that Ovid is having. A wide variety in here too..

The unknown is often the thing that scares me the most. 😮

But I like Ovid and his horse Jack. Jack was the color of a buttermilk flapjack with a white mane. Hmmm... I guess he looks like Caliber, one of the horses I know.

I am actually learning something from this book! 😁 It's talking about Texas Fever, which was some tick borne sickness that affected cattle. Never heard of it before. But I am surprised they had tick sickness way back then, just after the Civil War. I sure didn't expect that!

Is is amazing how the behike knows things before they happen....

This is such a a well written adventure story! I am loving this. I also realized this is my second book by this author... And wow, what a cliffhanger just now... The main characters in here are truly suffering.

Pear Blossom and the other other boys remind me of the horrible bullies we have today. Sandstone is correct when he states that there is something wrong with them.

Imagine the fear and great confusion of seeing armored warriors on horseback for the first time in your life - and you never saw a horse before. The jingle of harness, the thunder of the hooves...

I am enjoying this but their lives are about to change in a major way.

This story is off to a good start and I am learning several words in the Taino language. It seems that tradition is clashing with the new fancy items that the Spanish bring - items that are outlawed in the village. Very interesting story so far.

There is going to be a wedding!

I feel I am coming up to the climax of this story. And this is sure reminding me of a cross between Star Trek and Resident Evil. The big question is what will happen next?? I have no idea!

Oooohhh... I really hate that Lang! She just doesn't listen to common sense!

So I have picked this up from my library and I am going to start rereading it.

Uh-oh... They stayed too long and now there is serious trouble!! Plus I have developed an idea about what may be going on here. I don't get why the characters don't think of this. I mean it's obvious isn't it?? Why is the basilisk there?? Such an exciting story!

I have a bad feeling about this... I really don't think they should be doing this... Going to lead to more extreme danger I bet!

Read this in the little moments while cooking and waiting for Amazon to come. It's easy as it's a bunch of short essays. Some I liked better than others. The first one was actually a tad confusing.. a virga?? And what was with that Burning Man event??? I will write more in my review later when I finish this.

Still reading this. There have been a few unexpected surprises and I am unsure what will happen next. The danger and the fight for survival is not as intense as in the first book but the mystery is still there. Lots of action and adventure.

I am making fast progress on this one. Lots of danger and there is still lots of unknown in here. Some of the main characters are definitely struggling. Plus there is some highly suspicious stuff going on here, coming from up high too.

I am struggling to read this as the storyline is just dragging for me. It's not holding my interest very well at all... The two main characters are just weird. They don't respect each other at all. Yet they are having this affair (or secret romance, whatever you want to call it). And I still haven't forgotten the bizarre stuff Alex did at the beginning.

Suddenly it makes sense what the basilisk was guarding and why it was blocking ships from Paradise 1! This is like the Umbrella Corporation and Raccoon City all over again!!

Ooooh this is going to be a good one! Ten thousand missing people, a blood stain on a floor hidden under a knocked over coffee table and Zhang had already been attacked by something...

Looking forward to more action in this sequel to Paradise t.
