This is the book I took with me today up + back to the ranch. It was very relaxing to read this in the car. I am curious about this blue roan that is running around loose and if that might be the missing horse someone had mentioned briefly?? 🤔 I don't think I have ever saw a blue roan so I will have to Google it. The ranch I go to doesn't have any.

Well this seems to be off to a good start and it seems to be a bit funny too. They found this giant hole that emits electromagnetic noise and people have crazy ideas about why. That made me laugh. One character said it could even be a church! 🤣 But who actually knows what an alien church would look like, if they had churches that is.

I am having some mixed feelings about this book... It's not exactly living up to be what I had expected from the write up on the back cover. It seems to hint at something but it's so very super slow. It's more drama that inches along than anything else.

This doesn't bode well. You are living on Mars in a dome and you just found out that the others are taking shortcuts and not following the correct procedures.

So this book is calling a bicycle a "hobby horse"?? How is that a hobby horse? And even more confusing is that Lord Goth keeps his hobby horses in a stable!

So I am reading this pretty fast. The book seems to skip around a lot but if you can read in between the lines there is some smarts in here ...

It's not a surprise to me who she has to fight here at the end...

You went deep underground at least 30 feet yet you see the night sky overhead. I guess magic creates paradoxes. Or else illusions...

Some parts of this book reminds me of a western. It has that feel to it, with groups of people doing whatever they want. Often illegal but they have the power to do it so they do. Then toss it a mysterious quest from Coyote.

Why do I feel she is the one who just did an evil thing here??

This book is off to a good start. Lots of dialogue, action and now she is stuck with a partner she doesn't want who dresses in very colorful clothes that I don't think she approves of, probably because she got covered in blood her last monster hunting trip.

I feel very uncertain if I like Karl's idea. I fear many innocent will get hurt, maybe their own people. Will the Captain keep a rational head??

I wasn't actually expecting to learn some new science in here but there it was: the planet's rotation creates hurricanes?? It's part of the Coriolis Effect. Just wondering how one can not know that about hurricanes? We don't get hurricanes here but still...

At the beginning of this book I felt somewhat confused about the shape of this massive structure they had found in space and I ended up googling it where I found a drawing. But now the actual adventure is going on and it's a great story. Good elements of survival, man vs nature.

I am almost all the way through the pink "master" level in here. But I do notice a few odd things.. on a few of these I have found more differences than what the page claims is there -- yet on a few others I couldn't find as many as they said was there. It's very odd! Perculiar.

Woohoo! My guess was correct about the killer! But now they have to find the killer.

So far I am still sticking with who I think the killer is.
Lots of drama in here with various people and families.. no surprise there.

I have an idea of who the killer is! 😮
The question is am I correct??
Or am I totally on the wrong path???
That first book was SO tricky but now reading this I feel that I am on guard and I should be suspicious of everyone yet I already have a particular person picked out!

This story is going along very smoothly. And the murder is very unique too.

I am already reading the sequel. And another strange murder has happened on top of a mountain. Very ritualistic. I hope this book will be as great as the first one!

Once you begin to realize the types of changes that are usually made in these pictures it gets a lot easier. I also made little square playing pieces of paper to place over the changes, as this is a library book I am playing with. It makes it much easier!

I am getting very close to the end now. And I am still feeling a bit conflicted about who the killer is. One part of me wants to blame the one character but then I get a bit unsure... But it probably is the individual. Right?? I hope to finish this tonight yet.

Now that is a sudden twist that came out of nowhere!!

More details are coming out in this story now, like how the chapters set in the past and the ones set in modern days, are related. And I am beginning to get a slight idea of who might be the killer but I am still uncertain. The main character is being more fleshed out too..

I did a few of these so far and I must say even these novice puzzles at the beginning of the book are a bit challenging. Oh, at first they are simple but to find the last changed detail (like #9 on a 9 things changed puzzle) can be tricky! You really have to look carefully!

I am enjoying this book so far but it's way too early to make any guesses about the killer. I don't think I have ever read a book set in Spain before so that part is totally new. The festival set in April where they eat snails - that was very surprising! Snails!!

This is a reprint from 1942. The bottom of the first page says to buy War Savings Bonds!! But poor Donald Duck and his nephews already have problems with Black Pete!

Willa is so clever!!

I really don't see how they can fix anything in here as both sides want the opposite things. It would take some miracle! And while Willa has some magic I don't know what she can do about this mess. Humans will be humans...
