47 - Sonju explains to Emma and Ray that the world has been like this for a long time, not just 30 years. A long time ago humans and demons killed each other but they made a promise to split the world. They left behind a cattle of humans for the demons to breed to eat. There is no cross over between the sides.

46 - these 2 don’t eat humans for religious reasons! Hahaha delightful surprise... he saved them supposedly out of curiosity.

45 - Ray wakes up in a cavern and finds Emma nearby. He realizes they were picked up separately... the female seems happy Emma is okay. He realizes they don’t know Mr Minerva. Then it hits him... they’re demons!!! Love how he thanked them and then asks Why?!

44 - Gilda is suspicious and demands to see the mysterious person’s face... Ray is running but they close up any escape routes he opens up. Finally he collapses still determined to keep going but his body has given out... and in swoops a man on a demon horse and grabs him, saying to get on!!

“Kimi from America,” he says. “I’m Akira. From Japan.”

Love their first meeting, so cute! And her grandpa is neat.

Wow quick read... the end was epic... at least Cade and us got some answers...

So we get the lowdown on why Japan and why self discovery. Classic senior year problems and I feel for Kiki. I quite love her friends Bex and Atsuko! Her mom is classic Asian mom and I love that she went against her parents wishes to marry Kimis dad! Maybe eventually she can understand her daughter...

Wow... this is so fun! So they found a ridge with overgrown food they could pick... they head out into the jungle down below from the Roman keep. Cade finds a boat so they travel down river and find dinosaurs! Finch is such a jerk... everything is mine, beats his chest. I’d just kill him in this situation. Sorry not sorry. They hit a rock and Cade goes overboard, the boat gone...

Less twists okay... but still some really exciting moments and new things we did and didn’t expect. I loved most though Ray’s change... Mom’s change and seeing all the kids keeping up and trying their hardest!!

43 - nnnnnnnnoooooooo Ray you butt you’ve got to live! You’ve got to... nnnnnnooooooooo not Emma!!! Still I’m loving Ray’s POV change... his morale is so high. He wants to live now that it looks hopeless... and now a girl in a white hood says to follow!!!

The spreads and full page art are soooooo good! GAHHHH!

42 - they run from the monster... Ray marvels at how much better they are... we see Don is thinking they can outsmart this demon... they figure out it’s not their pursuers but wild... Ray has a plan to drop it in the tree trap... instead a demon catches up and cuts its head off

41 - Ray looks at the pen after questioning Emma about it. He also realizes from the book they can get water from the flowers on the trees. He figured out the code less book is the key to unlocking the pen. But a monster attacks and they run!!!

40 - whoa that was unexpected... the Promise book helped them escape!!! Thank you Mr Minerva!

39 - GAHHH the setting pages are gorgeous... but they were a trick!!! The trees are carnivores and lure creatures in to eat!!! Emma remembers them from Mr Minerva’s adventure novel!!! Pretty scary!!!

38 - they travel through the primeval forest but everyone is tiring so they take a break. Ray commits to staying alive and protecting everyone making a home. She shares they are going south due to a pen! Then a kid notices another kid is missing... suddenly Ray sees everyone is gone!!?

37 - we see Mom’s youth briefly... the one she lost... and her determination to live. We learn Ray’s mother is Mom... he knew the song she sang to him... she realizes where they escaped from but is too late to catch them. She realizes she lost, she’ll die. She goes back to the young ones. It’s poignant cause she’s not evil but surviving.

36 - we see the results of the kids training and it’s glorious! It’s unexpected! It’s empowering! RY is the most effected seeing it all happen. He’s caught Norman’s vision! He wants to fight for the ideal.

35 - Emma is shown making the hard decision to leave behind the 4 and unders. Phil is one of those... he figured out the truth from things that he noticed. He’s in charge of the left behinds. Mom sounds the alarm... they are told to kill all but the prime 2 if needed but don’t damage their heads!

Hmmm very easy to read. I like Cade. The mystery is quite good though it reminds me of maze runner.

The last chapter is soooo funny ! Miko finally cracks under the pressure of all she knows about the lecherous president and tells her friend.,. Who convinces her she must have misunderstood... so now she thinks Kaguya sees Shirogane as a slave pet so she can takeover the student council! But when she confronts Kaguya she says she’s not sure! Hahaha

79 - Kaguya collapses when Shirogane pulls a piece of lint from her hair... her doctor says she has love sickness! She insists on a scan of her heart... Ai is so embarrassed to have her mistresses feelings on display due to medical technology hahaha.

78 - a stick gets stuck in the door of the equipment area they went to inspect... they each think the other set it up as a trap to get closer! She falls and they are about to kiss... and Miko arrives! Haha

77 - haha Chika wants to talk about boys and pretends she likes one but is only talking about Kaguya!, so funny but Kaguya assumes she means Shirogane! Haha finally Chika admits it was a joke. So cuuuute!

75 - hahaha the couple they know come to them... he wants to know why she’s mad at him... Yu explains every time! He’s the woman whisperer! She just wanted him to tell her the truth and not make her the hysterical woman.

75 - they are collecting points from cheap Japanese products. Kaguya can’t find any in her house so Ai cutely gives her 10 from precious journals. Awww she’s acting like her big sister... in the end Shirogane wins because he’s been collecting for a year from bean sprouts they eat at home. Haha

74 - Yu and Shirogane fight over going to the aquarium with Kaguya because of their shoujo brains! In the end Kaguya says no to Shirogane going to the aquarium with her because she was so happy at his response. So the boys go! Awwww bromance!

73 - omg so funny! Shirogane wants Kaguya to read this shoujo manga so she’ll want to fall in love. He brings it to get the others talking about it hoping Kaguya will read it. She won’t so they go all fanboy bookworm on her and give spoilers haha. Miko thinks they’re tying up Chika and that she needs rescuing...

72 - Chika teaches Miko to break the rules taking pics of funny faces and posting on Instagram, haha.
