25 - Norman realizes and Emma tries to take on Mom and she breaks her leg... N stops immediately and turns back. Their shipment date has moved up to tomorrow!!! Mom is actually the most sinister of characters!! She was quiet in 2 but came back with a vengeance.

24 - Mom is spooked and drops Ray as her spy... she licks him in a room... love how Ray quickly realizes they can no longer pretend to be controllable... he’s hoping they realize to go through the inspection regardless of Mom!!! Pretty trippy!! Was it the letter with Krone?!

23 - Yup it didn’t help Krone one bit to eat out Mom... Grandma is on her side... the note said she gets a Mom position but it was a lie... she got planted! She left a pen she found for them in the hopes they topple Mom after she’s gone... GAHHH there were twists after all!!

22 - Ray leaves hair for Krone... with it she can topple Mom... only Mom turns up with s letter from headquarters... did Ray trick them into cancelling each other out?! I’m loving the lack of twists and having them outthink instead!!!

21 - They guard their words well... and learn there is a human society outside somewhere. But both Mom and Krone were born and raised on the farm, they know nothing firsthand about outside. And Krone now knows they knew about the tracker. They didn’t touch their ear to check!!

20 - Krone makes her deal... Norman realizes she needs evidence because she doesn’t have the trust or authority to go to her higher ups. If they don’t slip up then she’ll be forced to allow them to escape. They are at an empass because Ray can inform on Krone but Krone can inform on Ray!

19 - Emma sincerely apologizes and they ask them to escape with them. Ray tells mom Norman is looking to kill her. It’s s distraction do she won’t realize they’re checking the outside. Krone overheard everything and confronts them saying it was 5...

18 - Don and Gilda confront ENR... unfortunately Mom is suspicious. Don is really upset because he knows they did it to protect them, that they saw him as weak. He wanted them to have faith in them... WOW that was so moving... Emma is horrified. And Krone saw...

17 - Emma Norman Ray figure out the bookplates are Morse code and not identical even though they look it. They find 2 books that may be a guide to more info. Don Gilda find the secret room and suspect things were withheld from them because how did they know the people were bad?! But Mom comes!

15 - The odanna allows her to escort the spider sister to earth. It’s his way of allowing her to choose! She realizes she brought her grandpa a homemade meal that’s to SS. She hears a child mention curry and buys the stuff. And she returns with the odanna. Now she’s come of her own free will!

14 - the spider siblings reunite even though he doesn’t want her to go. They discuss how Shiro taught her to cook perhaps to protect her..l giver her a weapon to fight Atakashi but still keep his promise to the odana. I do love that her cooking is healing to atakashi! And Ginji and Odanna discuss her past and what she’s forgotten. He won’t tell her because he wants to marry her.

13 - wow a lot happened... she suggest the spider brother make dumplings for his sister! She gets him changed back and learns he felt abandoned by Shiro. She has a dream about an ayakashi who fed her when she was little and asks G if she could find it. Some ayakashi gather for grilled leaves!

12 - the odana explains that the geisha sister wants to move to Shro’s old town... she’s worried because ayakashi are always hungry there. They talk of her restaurant and he says he won’t approve it Neil it’s his standard but to think on the menu since she wants to do it. We learn the spider siblings met Shiro when he was gathering spirit power for his sister.

11 - the two siblings are fighting and the sun after is so upset she throws her spider shaped brother off the balcony, haha. She made tofu ice cream but it ended up on her head. Odana gave her a nice bowl and laughed at how she used it. They eat together and she asks his favorite food but he says he doesn’t want it to become a weakness.

Ooooh Kal has a mini break down and admits his feelings! Pretty neat!

Thank goodness everywhere!! I’m so happy with that end to part 2! Thanks for being a big girl Cat!

The sudden inclusion of a heist is so maddening. It was so different and unique up til now!! Whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyy do people find theft so cool? I’m totally loving this book otherwise... though I can’t wait to get back on the road!

I HATE Cat! I don’t get why no one mentioned how horrible she is... Someone was going to brutally kill you, you DO NOT suddenly believe they will make a deal with you... THEY WILL STILL KILL YOU! Stupidity especially due to jealousy sets woman back decades. This so far 5 star book is going down a star due to this TOTAL CONTRIVANCE.

Woah! Her eye lights up and sets a new course! I’m not really loving Cat... it feels like a lot of her angst is just jealousy. Poor Auri though... the backwards talk was neat... but why was trigger said the right way? Anyway loving this!

Oooooh weeeeeeee I’m loving this crew... I love Auri and her messed up situation. I love how easy it is to read. It’s so good!!

7 - Yochi ‘s demon takes control of him... but neither boy can kill him. Yu throws away his weapon and says he watched his sister die... he can’t kill him. Ichinose roars for him to get out from under the bed. And he does!! They are now each other’s family... Mika is going to battle... will they meet?!

6 - they do their cursed gear test... after Ichinose does a quick test to pick out who will go... Yu, Mikizuki and Yochi are left. Ty’s demon found him intriguing because he has Love and Greed intertwined. Also he’s not wholly human. Mikizuki took less time to make his pact... but Yuchi’s Heart was too weak and now they must kill him.

Oh yeah... and we learn Yu and Mika were seraphs of Krutch Tepes Queen of the vampires even though it’s forbidden. So he allowed the one to escape and mortally harmed the other. She was forced to make him a vampire to save his life. The vampires are worried about the demon army. They are taking human territory and protecting the people from the monsters in return for their blood.

5 - Ichinose wants to take out the Hiragi family who controls the demon army... we meet the pertinent people in a boring meeting. Yu hunts him down to nag about the demon armor and h3 agrees to set him up even if he ends up dying.

4 - Yu goes to class after fighting with Kimizuki the top dog in the Moon Demon class. They are paired up after Yu makes it clear he wants no friends. When he hears Kimizuki’s Sister needs her brother he leaves the test so he can go see her! Yu makes it clear no one is grading him is important except himself.

This was fascinating because it’s not so much about Alice... we get her POV but she’s so simple that we focus more on Yuzu... at the end of 5 I forgot but the girl wants to replace her with Alice singing! Anyway not loving it... but it’s different

5 - we get confirmation that that kid is Momo and he writes music. Alice/Nino is on the beach singing instead of school... Yuzu hunts her down and says he’ll write music she can sing. Though in his heart he hopes she never meets Momo again.

4 - she sings after getting emotional at a song she sang with Momo... the new boy Yuzu ran into is Momo and recognized Nina from his childhood!!

3 - Alice and Yuzu are in the same class... turns out Yuzu is the girl in his group and the girl is dressed as a boy!! The girl overheard Yuxu and Alice when she joins him suddenly and realizes with her he could write again. She disappears so another band member asks Alice to sing!
