Women completed men--they were a sort of canvas muse, helping to free the immagination and connect with the subconscious of men. They were objects of inspiration, but even when artists thenselves, were never really seen as equal, even though surrealists supported liberation/freedom/equality.

Salmon will bite at anything that moves, so the need for the resplendent flies was useless. Rather it was solely a status symbol: fancy fish-fancy flies.
