I realized when I got the ARC for Certain Dark Things by the same author, I had to go back and finish her first book which has been much talked about. And hence bought the Signal to Noise - a delightful caper through yesteryear Mexico city - nostalgic and sweet till now. We're just heading off to the edge of the cliff where I suspect things are going to be on a downward spree, once the slide starts.
