Oh I long feared coming back to this giant hardcover copy, of what might be my favorite epic fantasy series of all times [ and that too, with just one book in!] but Brandon Sanderson brushes away my fears and misgivings, and 2 days in - am already past 250 pages.

Apparently this is a Shallan Book, not my fav character from Book One but she's shaping up well enough. Kaladdin, dude you need to start manning up.

This is a dense book. Packed wall-to-wall with frightening creatures, some excellent mind-boggling world building, myths and stories that are utterly compelling. Just that I cannot skim even a single para!

One of the best books I have read this year. By far. Maybe it's the audio book narration that brings this alive but I have not liked an urban fantasy setting like the post-apocalyptic Navajo state filled with monsters, trickster gods, lightning-wielders and so many fun characters. Maggie and Kai are so much fun to hang out with - Refreshingly original and wonderfully drawn up. Kickass.

Started reading an excerpt shared by TOR. Fascinating lore. Lush imagination and wondrous world-building. quite a few "elements" that are novel/foreign plus clever story-telling till now. I will finish the excerpt and look for the full book soon!

Oh what fun, this book. Mia now graduated from a school of assassins to be a part of a gladiatii team - working to win an ultimate tournament to being her closer to her sworn enemies. Similar structure, a lot more fighting and blood and gore - but heck, this series is entertaining as hell.
