Finally, something happens that's worth the word 'fantasy'. But the 33% of the book is worth the wait, I love how this story is driven mostly by character descriptions and development. Until now. Now it looks like shit's going to go down. Hell yeah!

So true. Liking the book so far.

It's been a long while since I read any new fantasy series and now I want to read one and be lost in a new fantasy world. Any recommendations?

P.S: Other than HP and LOTR

Onto book #7. The plot thickens. I want to know what the disgusting Count Olaf is up to now. What is V.F.D?

That if our legacy is not entitlement, it must be hope.

This is a slow burner, because of the theme. The story is paced well enough actually.

"So they began living in their new home—in which, as always happens, when they got thoroughly settled in they found they were just one room short—and with the increased income, which as always was just a little too little".

I'm liking this story so far. It's like a character study of a man(also of family) who has his own way of dealing with reality, which often feels like a kick in the butt, in his own way.

They ask me to concentrate on my work. But how can I, when Watney is desperately trying to survive out there on the god-forsaken planet Mars. That poor guy. Umm, actually, he is the richest guy on Mars! Yay, Watney.

The adventure starts when I can't sleep even when it's 1 a.m.

Got 2 new books I ordered. This is how I feel:

Listening to the audiobook at work :D Mark Watney is f***ed!

Re-reading it because it's a fun to read Mark Whatney's hilarious survival log. Also listening to an audiobook simultaneously.

What is Count Olaf up to now, what twisted, evil plot has he this time to rob the Baudelaires off their fortune?

This has been a wonderful series. If you don't like bad endings, and if your idea of a good book is one that ends with 'a happily ever after', then I urge you to stop reading this right now for your own sake. (I love lemony snicket's writing style in this book)

Interesting so far.

a new year dawns,
and on the eve,
late into night, amidst yawns,
i read a new book,
and fall into fantastical worlds,
where along with the characters,
i rejoice and grieve.

Spies, traitors, conspiracies everywhere. But where is The Scarlet Pimpernel? More importantly, who is the Scarlet Pimpernel?

The story picked up pace and there is a lot of action happening. I'm enjoying the read.

"a girl in all but name—still standing almost at the threshold of her life, yet bereft of hope, bereft of illusions, bereft of all those golden and fantastic dreams, which should have made her youth one long, perpetual holiday"

After the first chapter, the paced of the story has slowed down incredibly. It's a little frustrating in that way, but nevertheless the story is interesting enough. Hope it picks up pace.

Amazing opening line :

"A surging, seething, murmuring crowd of beings that are human only in name, for to the eye and ear they seem naught but savage creatures, animated by vile passions and by the lust of vengeance and of hate."

I have a feeling I'm going to love this book. The poetic, poignant and intense writing with long sentences broken by commas for explaining a multitude of things is why I love classics.
