It was a mad rush to try and get this finished before we went away overseas, and I just managed it phew. I did like this book but I don’t know if I loved it. There was a lot going on in the world building of this one which I’m sure will become clearer in the later books but there was a bit that went over my head not gonna lie. Also not super jazzed for the baddies to end up being aliens if that’s the route

I think I’m giving up. It’s just not very good. It’s crass and crude and has talked about just about every bodily function and that’s just not for me. I feel like I still know nothing about the characters and they hardly interact as a team so it’s hard to care about them. I’m very much skimming so I think it’s time to call it quits.

knew the kind of man Elvis was when she got with him. So why is it now such an issue, sigh. A tricky case though and Elvis does some excellent investigative work!

actual thing haha. He’s absolutely mental and such a hateable character. I feel really bad for Elvis in this one, I feel like his life really falls apart. He really puts everything on the line for Joe and I feel like honestly Joe was a bit blasé about it which bothered me a bit. This one is why I hate Lucy so much, she just suuucks! I understand a little why she’s mad, but I don’t know what she expected, she

I thought that I’d read this one many time but I must have just flicked through it because I think this was actually my first proper reread from start to finish. This is a very good one but it’s pretty bloody sad at times. Interesting to see a bit of Joe’s past with his last case as a police man which is what made all the cops hate him so much. I still can’t believe that ‘Shit your pants Krantz’ is an

A very cute, very fun set of comics about a vampire and werewolf in love. Love the drawing style and the humour is great how it pokes fun at all the werewolf and vampire cliches. Super cute read.

Joe and Elvis are solid as always though. I feel like it could have used just a couple more chapters though to wrap it up, I definitely still had some questions. I thought he’d go see the family of the victim again at the end to give them closure but we didn’t get to see that. It just ended quite abruptly with a real melancholy note from Elvis. Still really enjoyed it though.

This was a tricky one with lots of twists and turns. Poor Elvis takes the cases so personally sometimes though and I’m like you can’t hold onto all of that man. A tricky case with it being a serial killer and Cole not knowing who he can trust in the police. I feel like I don’t know if I super love Starkey, she comes on way too strong and Elvis doesn’t seem crazy keen, I’m like just chill woman.

with the baby, but it was also a little sad because he’s a lonely guy. I liked Cole helping him and Jon, cool to have Cole coming in to help Joe on his case. They’re a good team. I liked that he was the one to talk him down of the ledge at the end too. Their friendship is just the best. I feel like Joes stories always jump right into it because he usually stumbles onto a scene and is a badass, whereas Cole has a

I didn’t realise but I hadn’t actually read this one before, so that was fun. A Joe Pike focused case connected to one of his old friends from his mercenary days. Also the introduction of Jon Stone which I didn’t realise either, he comes across as a real loose cannon in this one. Pretty cool case with a home invasion crew that leads to the Serbian mafia and a kidnapped baby. Joe has some really sweet moments
