I enjoyed it though. Will was pretty badass and Sara didn’t annoy me as much as she usually does. It was pretty cute to hear about their wedding with Faith standing up with Will as his family. I don’t think this one had the best of wills interrogation skills though. The ending was pretty messed up but overall I enjoyed the mystery.

Hill folk man, this family was fucked up! All of them were just truly awful people. I know there was a lot going on with awful weather and stabbed hands but I feel like this case could have been wrapped up a lot quicker if they had just smashed out all the interviews straight away rather than trying to piece it together without all the information. Kinda fun to have a Will Trent locked door mystery though.

Pretty sad ending though, poor Evan.

broke my heart a little. Evan and Joey are still solid which is good. And I loved the scene with Joey and V, that was excellent! I love V, honestly kinda hoping for her and Evan this get together. The fight between Tommy and Evan was pretty sad to read at times and I didn’t give a single shit about the stupid racist boys. The Wild West set up for the showdown was very fun though. And Evan is a beast.

But it was kinda cool in a way that it was almost like Evan was the baddie of this story, he was the boogey man drawing nearer. I feel like with all his growth and awkwardness that I love I’d kind of forgotten that from an outsiders perspective Evan is fricking terrifying! I kind of love that though. There was a really sad scene in this one though of poor Evan standing on the outside looking in at a community that

I’ll admit at the end of the last one I didn’t really get what the big deal was with Tommy having sold that gun, I mean he’s a gun dealer that’s what they do. But having now read this one I get it now why Evan was so upset, it was a code of honour thing and a sense of betrayal that his only friend would do that. There was way too much Tommy in this for me, he’s really not my favourite, and not enough Evan.

I feel like every single weirdo in this town got their own chapter, which made it feel like the case was moving really slow because it took forever to get back to the investigators. Also so many people died before the end, they weren’t very good at their jobs. I feel like lots was set up in this book and not really paid off or paid off in a rush. The ending was underwhelming to me. It was alright but not great.

This book took me foreeever to read!! And honestly by the time I got to the end I didn’t care at all. I thought the initial set up was cool with vampyres being a bit more wild than the brooding pop culture version, but I slowed down pretty quick. I didn’t super love any of the characters and there was soo many. Barbara and Tucker were ok but they weren’t amazing, and honestly there just wasn’t enough of them

This was wonderful! It was my favourite part of the main books, Joey and Evan are just the best! I love their awkward relationship. I love that he actually got all of the others to come to Joey’s recital. Orphan V is so great too, I love her interactions with X. All the little jobs that Evan had to do to get them all to come were cool too. It was really sweet how proud he was of her, some very sweet moments!
