Tried to make you relate to the baddies by making them have sick sisters or dead wives or whatever but then they’re also chopping up people so I’m like nah, no thanks. The Dallas man ended up pretty lame and the twist at the end was a bit meh. But for a shoot em up badass book it was alright. Would be keen for a more Marshall focused story.

To quote my mother ‘it was alright’. This was alright but I don’t think it like knocked my socks off or anything. Marshall was a pretty badass character but honestly with all the different perspectives I feel like I didn’t learn enough about him. I didn’t mind their relationship but my god do I truly hate miscommunication! Just fricking speak to one another. Her dancing with the dragon was pretty cool though and his little hiccup moments were very good. Overall I liked it but I feel like it definitely had potential to be more than it was

I feel like this book had potential but just fell a bit flat. Again not a lot happened in this book. Also I really wasn’t fun to read about her just continuing to lose everything. I don’t know why she even wants to stay in this town, the people are all a bunch of assholes. There was definitely not enough Arturo for me, he was hands down the most interesting character and there was not enough of him.

The main characters really only interact with each other, pretty much all the other characters were very 2 dimensional because they just aren’t important. I like ensemble stories better I think. I feel like the magic could’ve been really cool but just wasn’t fleshed out enough for me. Overall I liked it but I can’t say I crazy loved it.

I read this in a slump and I don’t know that it knocked my socks off. Not enough happened for the size of this book. It started strong with badass fights and then got very very slow with them just wandering around the Vatican for 300 pages. Not gonna lie this was a sneaky read to help me actually finish a book in June. I forgot how much I love this series though, may need to do a full read through. Hades and Persephone are just the cutest. and hades and Hecate’s friendship is the best!
