Adding another log to the fire that is WORK BOOKS and starting this delicious little yarn.

Now I have read this before. I remember really enjoying it because 1. It’s got a great hook, 2. It’s a historical story which I also love, and 3. It’s a WONDERFUL Sixth Doctor story as I was and am a big Six Apologist. Restarting it again tonight? Still pretty damn fun! Very excited for this revisit.

FINALLY starting my big dumb deep dive into Tom Clancy books of old.

This is already pretty fun and the way he is painting the Soviet characters as like Byronic heroes is pretty interesting to see.

I will say the interludes into the past have started to drag things down a bit, BUT Cox has started to take some real pulpy turns that I completely appreciate.

This, so far, has just been Midsomer Murders: Batman and I’m WAY into it.

I know people regard Westlake as more of an action writer and that’s certainly how he’s been presented to me but you guys, this book is so goddamn funny.

Are his other books funny? Is this the outlier? Either way, still a blast thus far.

This thing is already off like a ROCKET. Greg Cox really nails the punchy pace of comics. Also reading about Batman doing legit detective work is *one million chef kisses*

I’m not even 100 pages into this yet and it’s already made me wheeze with laughter several times.

This thing is juggling three different timelines with three whole different casts beautifully. I am having a real blast with this.

This thing is really starting to click. I am still kind of not super dazzled by Christie's style (i am assuming it gets better in later books) but i am still having a lot of fun with this. Doubly so now that Poirot is fully a member of the cast now.

I also started this in a desperate attempt to make my reading goal for the year and because i have been kinda starved for a mystery procedural show here lately. It's pretty fun! Christie's prose is a bit more terse than i would have expected but this is a really fun introduction to Poirot so far.
