I have been bested by a lot of books but I’ll be damned if I let this one get over on me.

I can’t decide if I hate this or am fascinated by it

I very much appreciate too that for as cool and capable as Gregor and his team are, they aren’t completely perfect or un-damageable. It makes them feel so much more tactile than most 40k protagonists.

Restarting this (because my local library is getting me print copies of them finally!) and very happy to find that it still kicks wholesale ass. Also might have welled up a bit because I forgot how it introduced Bequin. Precisely the fun I needed rn.

We aren’t talking near enough about how the main xenomorph in Alien: Earth looks almost identical to the one you could play as in the Alien vs Predator arcade game.

Big time Tanith Lee vibes from this I’m just realizing.

This thing is equally both fascinating in its detail and painfully frustrating in its reporting of the situation (and the many, MANY people who played angles basically the whole time).
