Like anyone else who loves period dramas I am so obsessed with Downton Abbey. I happened to be in Barnes and Noble which is currently displaying books with the DA theme.

I was immediately drawn to this one. What better way to get the insight into life in service then a first hand kitchen maid's memoir.

I am only six pages in and I can tell this is going to be a fabulous and easy read.

A fascinating quirky read I can not put down. Tragic and wonderful all at the same time.

This is good but it is no Water for Elephants. The part of the story has taken a very bizarre and somewhat graphic disturbing turn. It is obvious the author has done her research regarding bonobos apes. I look forward to seeing how this one will wrap up.

It is time to continue my Fall readings. I hit the library Friday afternoon and walked away with four reads I believe I will enjoy. I decided to start with this one because I loved Water for Elephants and am a fan of the writing style of Sara Gruen.

Have not picked up my novel in a few days. Errands won out over pleasurable reading time. Oh well hopefully this week I will get to spend more time with Sam and crew ...though I have been introduced to Cole so I am interested in seeing what his story is all about!

Just really getting into Linger. Nice to visit with Sam again. Interesting to see where this novel will go.

Oh Anne, how I identify with thee!

I love reading this one every Fall and I needed a Captain Wentworth/Anne Elliot fix.

Never Let Me Go blew my mind and Unwind is having the same exact effect on me. So far, this is an excellent read and I am really liking the characters!

It is rare when I say this but...I will be happy when I am finished with this novel so I can move on with something else.

It is just ok.

Not sure about this one. I thought 85 pages would reveal a bit more. Seems like I am on a merry go round with this one and the characters.

This one is a bit of a mystery that I quite can't figure out as yet. All I know is that it is about a Nigerian refugee named Little Bee and a recent widow named Sarah and how they were brought together by what seems to be a tragedy on a beach somewhere
