The first chapter was pretty boring, but it's picking up lately. I just worry that I'm going to have trouble finding the rest of the books in the series since it's almost 20 years old.

I'm enjoying this, especially now that Al is no longer gushing over John Kerry. I just wish I were more "politically informed" so I could have a better understanding of the things Franken is writing about.

Between working around the house and being just plain exhausted, I haven't gotten much time lately to do any of my usual pastimes such as reading or playing games. Hopefully now I can continue with my usual hobbies now that I've accomplished so much in my room.

Wow. This book is really intriguing me. Who knew so much excitement was going on in Macon back in the day? And it also causes me to be even more annoyed by people who say we were so much more "moral" back in "the day." This book shows that mankind's morals have always been screwed up; by the time society moves past one vice, we tend to cling to others. The "good old days" were never as good as some pretend they were.

I knew a twist was coming up with a certain character, but I wasn't entirely sure what the twist was. Gotta say, didn't see that one coming.

I'm enjoying the book, but it's kind of a letdown following "Kevin". The writing is so light that I can't invest in it quite as much as I did the last book I was reading.

Wow. I have never used the word "powerful" to describe a novel before, but this book is very powerful. In just the past five pages, not only did Shriver answer a lingering question I've had that I did not expect to get answered, but she also blew me away. I'm still reeling and have to remind myself "this is not real, it is fiction." Fan-f***ing-tastic.
